No an old Grooverider tape

Very nice car Stellaz but im gonna keep it stock and original. With this one it is to honest to dick about with (even if I will have to stop myself). Best thing is it has an 80s stereo in it with casette I was literally smothing down the road with an old rave tape on today.. i felt like 18 again lol.

Picked the car up from Nottingham today, it is a hell of a long of a drive from here. It had been a real struggle to buy as the guy did not really want to sell it. He bought it new 28 years ago and had absolutely maticulasly looked after the car, from new it has only ever been driven with seat covers on it and two mats all the way round. The guy never drove it in the rain, left it out in direct sunlight and had it serviced every year even if had not been driven 32K from new!!!!. His mother died and he wanted to keep some of her belongings so needed to clear some room in the garage. His wife kind of forced him into selling it to make room. There was a whole load of people trying to buy the car and I had a real long chat with him on the phone let him look at my Nissan site then he went away to "think about it for 24 hrs", I bought it without seeing it. He called me back saying he had decided I could have the car as he thought I would take care of it!. When we collected it the family were lovely they invited us in for Lunch in a lovely house, made us Coffee and sadwiches etc. Really weird actually it was more like adopting a child rather than buying a car. The whole story of buying the car, him caughting his wife in it along with details of how well it has been looked after. This 28 year old car has full main dealer history, bill of sale, every MOT, Tax disk etc etc. When the garage actually opened I was like OMFG look at that thing, It was like brand new. Never been welded, ALL completely original and the seats have been covered since new, after I took the seat covers off the original Velour comes off on your hands when you rub it as it has never been touched. Honestly looked like it rolled of the conveyor belt a few months back. It drove the 160 miles back faultlessly and drove like brand new everything about it is mint. Im just not keen on them, prefer the stock ones cant put my finger on the reason why either.

Yeah I know it is funny what we get used to, the first time I drove a car with PAS I was like OMG how easy is this. But these days it is hard to think of any new car not having PAS.

Just insured it fully comp for me and the Mrs including breakdown £129 happy days.

I am not gonna modify this in ANY way, its gonna be hard after doing the zed. I will expect that I will be looking at every part thinking chrome that, polish that, stick a silicoln hose on there etc. I will literally just replace any parts with new ones and drive it, minute you go modifying a car like this it looses its apeal. I did not buy it as an investment but if it goes up a bit over the years then happy days.

Yeah I wanted the MK3 1600i not an RS Turbo, or a real nice RS2000 but all the decent MK2s are real silly money now and im not that keen on anything some random has restored. Their idea of restoration could be sticking filler in the arches etc. One add for a Mk2 said "Fully restored and painted 2 years ago, just a few spots of rust on the arches". So basically top money for shite car filled with filler a few years back.

I am chuffed as nuts bud... so excited cant tell you roll on Saturday. I always wanted one of these RS1600s but never had the money to buy one at the time so its quite nostalgic.

Its already a classic car, never been welded or modified... and I am so excited to be getting it on Saturday. I know its a fair bit of cash for an old escort but there are not many of these about and definately not many original one owner low milage ones!. I dont think it will ever go down in value either, a lot of the decent MK 2s are already north of 20K.

I never see any around here, quite a rare car already by all accounts. I think that any scrappers will start being worth real good money as time goes on as well. Bazz will never need to work another day in his life and be worth millions in zed parts if he stockpiles now lol.

Its more than likely the steering joint that goes from the column into the rack. Had the exact same problem on mine, Jimmer sorted it by putting a new part on (as they get tight spots) a new one is a few hundred quid though from memory.

Nice drive in my Porker but the zed would get dirty going that far and I cleaned it today!! Maybe next year, would be nice to show it or something after all the work that has gone in.

I have stoptech and I bought them as they are designed to work with the cars original abs system. expensive but fantastic brakes.
