  1. So you think hold on and try and find a quattro rather than go for a 2wd one?
  2. My Mrs is getting rid of her Cayenne as she is having to put between £150-200pw in it in petrol. She is thinking about getting a diesel A3 quattro.. cut a long story short they are rare as hens teath a year or two old and there is a 6 month waiting list on new ones. She is after something good to use in the snow to get to her Horses and will get some snow socks anyhows. But will the quattro be worth getting over a normal 2wd one as it does not have a diff lock anyhows?. My 911 is 4wd without diff lock and it sucks in the snow. There are loads of nice diesel A3s about nearly new with all the bits on except quattro. So is it worth holding on for one to come up or just go for a 2wd one as it will make feck all difference. I would like her in a new car ASAP as she has already dented my 911 and im worried about how much more damage she will do.
  3. The problem with that dent is that the metal has been stretched, you need to do it properly with a shrinking hammer to remove the high spots. Its quite nasty TBH maybe £7-800 for a reasonable job im guessing.
  4. Its the site code that needs updating, its older than all the new OS and browsers (especially mobile ones). You can join this site to test all of the variations http://www.browsercam.com/. Quite handy for usability testing. Also get the site stats and look at traffic sources and start from the most popular ones and work back.
  5. This site has serious issues on Android, that is why I brought this up. The pages break and error and then it tells you it failed to make a post but posts it etc shocking mess really on that OS.
  6. This gets VERY VERY expensive as every performance part you change requires a further two to maximise the benefit. It just goes on and on and before you know it you are into seriously big money. Mine is so powerful it simply rips the road up and is a scary drive in the first 4 gears. I have all the mechanicals done and she is about run in now. From here I can start running a bit of boost and get my giggle gas running and do the fueling etc. But that for anything other than a dyno day is un useable on the road TBH especially in a two wheel drive car.
  7. Yeah agreed £15 per year hosting package would more than run this site no problems at all.
  8. It is a great spectator sport, its fast and often rusults in great team brawls.
  9. No point buying a server for a site this size, you then need to support it and update it and replace parts as they break. It would save you next to nothing if anything at all. I have about 3456654 Dell ones right on the backbone but we get economies of scales as we have heavy traffic stuff. Is the 25K real money.. what i mean by that is it in an account somewhere or just on a notional balance sheet after the owners have taken it out?. Castle Coombe is a good idea, I would renew my membership for at least one thing that is not up north and it is a good show.
  10. I had a lesson today, was graded at level 6/10 for Ice Hockey Skating Skills. I am comfortable on Ice and can Skate backwards OK (not brilliant) and learnt to Hocky stop today so it seems to be going well as I have not been at it that long. I need to learn backwards crossovers, two foot power slalom, U turn both ways, and foward inside mohawk next... Got to get to level 10 before I even try with a stick LOL might be a few months that..
  11. I am trying to get good enough to play on a team but I am finding it difficult and hard as im not that young any more and never Ice Skated as a kid. Any of you guys any good on the ice? I have managed to learn to Ice Skate backwards as well as hockey stop etc but I am a long way off yet.
  12. Gary It has nothing to do with it, if I wanted to flounce I would do it in better style than this. My time is my most "valuable" asset and I would not be spending it on here making suggestions. I own a multi million company I dont need to get power kicks wasting time making posts on here to cause trouble bud. Gary you never answered my question do you somehow think I own the other site or something?. On my mothers life I dont so why say that?
  13. I have two full time app developers in the office, one of the guys won an Apple design award and the other is an expert on Android. I can ask them to speak to any developers that you appoint if that is helpful?. A large proportian of traffic comes from Apps these days, Im guessing just having free apps in the stores will double traffic and new memberships on here based on my own experience.
  14. Guys can we stick to the suggestions raised please if your happy say so (I can take it on the chin). If you think that any of my suggestions could be beneficial for "club spirit" then feel free to voice them. The main thing with this thread was to try and help the site move forward. Stellaz your last post could be seen to be antaganising bud (in the nicest possible way).
  15. Gary you trying to say I own a site that I dont?
  16. Thought police strike again by the looks of it, dont bother banning me I am walking. One less "trouble maker" to worry about lol.
  17. Whos Z club net? its certainly not mine lol
  18. I have considerable web/mobile experience as well as being Entrepreneur of the year semi finalist. I have offered to help in the past in any way possible but it has fallen on deaf ears. I dont want money, but am happy to give you a bit of time to help things move forward. I have over 30 technical, design, SEO and support staff at my disposal that can give help and advice to get some of these technical issues sorted out and attract a few more members.
  19. I think most people have issues and very few comment about it for above reasons, maybe a private poll an above points would give a definative answer?.
  20. Guys I am not trying to stir the pot up, break rules or cause trouble but this place needs some "change" going forward if it is to be any good longer term. I have seen that "opinions" and "suggestions" are often not met with open arms but more than often you just get "its already been discussed" or beaten with a virtual stick. I often sit by watching this going on and never comment like most users. But it has got to a point where I am just coming here less and less and will not even renew my paid membership. So here is my open and honest "opinion" needed to keep this place functional for a few years yet. As a Zed owner and member here for a few years that has never caused any trouble I am putting my best foot forward with it "in the spirit" of the place. I have enjoyed the site at times but this stuff drives me mostly away these days to more friendly surroundings. 1. Accept peoples opinions, dont delete or dismiss them off hand just because you dont like them. 2. the levels of Mods compaired to users on here is really high, do you really need so many? I run and own sites with millions of members with like 5 or 6. Having to many makes for an appresive site. 3. No one has ever explained the "club funds" thing in any clear and conceise way. If whoever owns the site keeps the money then fair enough. just fess up and say but IMO this place represents very poor value for money these days. Spend it or reduce the fees IMO you really dont need 60 years of running costs in the bank (if it is). I mean most of the members would be well approaching 100 by then if you stopped charging tmoz?. And no I am not a tight git anyone that knows me knows that the money for me is incidental. 4. The levels of rules and censorship on here are akin to George Orwells 1984 "you will do this" "you cant do that" "we have deleted that". It often reminds me of reading a German WW2 Newspaper that has been censored to bits. 5. I know that preferential treatment has been discussed and its obvious "in my opinion" that it goes on however you spin it. Please remember that it is the members that make any site, and without them this place will be a "load" of mods here until their cars ware out. You need to treat EVERYONE the same no matter what... 6. You really need to make this site work on iphone and Android it will cost next to nothing to do but its the way forward. 7. A mobile APP would also be useful 8. Have a steam room and DONT mod it, its not an accident that most sites have one of these. Could well help you regain some good will. Good stuff 1. I have got to know some decent people on here, some have helped me and others I have helped out. 2. I have found that club spirit can be strong at times and that is encouraging. 3. I love my car and appreciate any advice that I have had on it when I built it. According to public stats the site only gets just over 500 hits per day now, it is on a hiding to nowhere unless some changes are made and accepted. If you think that my "opinion" constitutes a public burning on the stake then it further reinforces the points I am constructively trying to raise here. Take it in the spirit it is meant to be in "constructive" :sweatdrop:. I have read through the lengthy AUP etc and cant see that I have done anything wrong unless this can somehow be broad brushed as "anti club spirit" or something?. But if anti club spirit is spending half hour making suggestions then I really think that constitutes "anti member spirit" and reinforces points raised above. I have never been rude to anyone on here, caused any trouble, or been a problem of any kind.
