  1. Fixed! (I hope) Was down to a loose connection going into the relay...
  2. hmm... so as I said in the first post, I'm fairly useless when it comes to electronics! Can anyone advise as to what exactly I'm looking for. I know which relay it is, but as for the earthing, I understand that the light needs to be earthed, but that is as far as my knowledge takes me. Earth is usually a black wire isn't it*? Can anyone shed any light on what I'm supposed to be looking for, and then what I'm doing when I've found what I'm looking for? *This should give you an idea of my electrical knowledge. I was looking at this thread (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=133428&highlight=earth+light) which has helped a bit. Will the problem most likely be at the fuse box end, or the headlight end?
  3. Ok thanks, will let you know how I get on...
  4. Right, I've had a search around the forums and am still unclear about this so I'll ask in the hope that someone can help me! A few weeks ago I started up the car (at night), turned on the lights and the rear foglamp turned itself on. If I pressed the foglamp button, it had no effect. If I put the high beams on and then pressed the foglamp switch, all the lights would go off. This was pretty amusing but ultimately unpractical. This issue seemed to resolve itself just as soon as it started for reasons that are beyond me. Today I went out for a drive and all the electrics were working fine. I get in the car to head out again this evening and the headlights are playing up. When I turn on the headlights (normal/dipped beam) the left hand HID comes on and both main beams come on (but extremly dim). The drivers side HID doesn't come on. Also, the blue high beam dashlight comes on, then goes off when I turn on the high beams. When I turn the high beams on, only the left hand side light comes on. I am fairly useless when it comes to electronics, so can anyone help me out? From the other posts I've read it sounds like a relay or earthing issue?
  5. Took it to a tyre place today, took em about 30 minutes to get them off!
  6. Cheers everyone, will hopefully get a chance to have another crack at it over the weekend and will report back!
  7. Tonight I planned on taking out the washer bottle and motor and giving them a good clean/overhaul as there seems to be a lot of stuff clogging up the washer jets. Was planning on following this (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=69450) guide but am stuck at the first bloody hurdle... getting the wheel off!!! The locking nuts are refusing to undo (This is the first car I've had with locking wheel nuts; you just put the 'key' on and undo them like a normal nut, right?). Anyone got any tips for undoing them, as they're stuck so tight I even managed to bend the wrench! I'm gonna hope that this isn't a case of me just being a retard, resulting in much hilarity at my expense...
  8. The olive looks badass! You could go for olive and then some teeth a la fighter jet (*maybe* without the gun?):
  9. Saw a Red Zed parked up in Dunstable today, and a Black/dark grey LHD zed in London today on the A40 (I think)
  10. Cheers guys! The calipers are standard but the discs are from a GTR I think (not sure which gen.). They're not terrible, but I'd feel more comfortable with them being a bit sharper.
  11. Hi all! Picked up my first Z car last Monday and I've been loving every second of it! Apologies for not posting pics or anything sooner, I've either been out enjoying it, or working to pay for it! It's james' old car (JohnWayne300) as seen for sale here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=128089 Here's a few snaps that I took today! Been loving every second so far, tunnels with the roof off are a lot of fun! :D Car runs perfectly, only real problems are the washer jets and the brakes which I feel aren't powerful enough (I want my face to hit the windscreen when I slam on the anchors) :D
  12. Yep for sure, been too busy driver her! :D Will get some pics done this weekend!
  13. :D = my face for the past 12 hours! Don't worry, I shall take extremely good care of her! :)
  14. Thanks everyone! Yea I was tempted to buy the first one I saw the other day but realised that I shouldn't rush into it, good things come to those who wait etc... so hopefully I'll get exactly what I'm looking for! Atlast, I'm looking for a tt I'm afraid!
