That said, I think the short odds will be the all blacks at home, but as you say, they always under-perform at the world cup. Hello mate, missed you too. Life has been harsh these last few months to be honest. Youth centre closing in 2 weeks.. redundancy looms, both cars buggered, fook all money to fix them... The old man's not been well at all, missus is stressed as anything with an office move. oh and I'm still ever so slightly on the large side..... other than that it's all great! I see you did the right thing and kept the zed... i assume and hope. I saw Isherward the other day, and we were saying that we need to all hook up for beers soon.

In fact i just listened to those vids again and it sound awful!! that is not a true representation of how it sounds to be honest. Even when it was at it's noisiest earlier on it didn't sound as bad as it does in the clip. Seams you are right bud... that really does sound like a tractor.

Well that gives me a bit of hope Graham, I must say that i would be surprised (and gutted) if it was the bottom end or anything that serious as she has been good as gold so far, and the sound started not too long ago and i thought it was sticky lifters. Like i said it was nowhere near as noisy as earlier when i checked just now so fingers crossed.

just went out again to check and the noise is not half as bad as earlier?? In fact my mate said "what's wrong with it? Sounds ok to me." And to be honest it really wasn't anything like as noisy as earlier?? Yeah... it sounds a bit like a diesel at idle. As soon as you rev it the sound is much less noticeable. and over 3000 revs you wouldn't know! I am losing the will at the moment.... bloody rocco started playing up today as well... needs a new carb or fuel pump we think. So looks as if i will be biking to work tomorrow.... 20mile round trip...including a cycle home at 10pm! All for a job of which i am being made redundant at the end of August due to funding cuts... Lets hope it doesn't pee it down tomorrow or i might just throw in the towel :helpsmilie::crying::sad:

Right guys, i need some advice: I have not been using the zed recently as she was making a slight tapping noise from the top of the engine. I thought it might be sticky lifters so used some Wynns lifter treatment, it got quieter. I had the hesitation issues so swapped the MAF, she stopped hesitating. I went out today and took her around the ringroad where i live, and the tapping from before, is now much louder and a bit deeper. here is a couple of short vids with sound. What do you reckon? There is also a tiny bit of random smoke from the same side of the engine, but when you look down there i can't see where it's coming from and there is a bit of oil so it might just be that burning off? Oil pressure is all over the place at the moment. I know the gauges are inaccurate, but mine used to be very consistent, and now it is not! Help please as my rocco is playing up too and it looks as if i'll be cycling to work for the next week, but work is about 10miles away!! Cheers guys P

Mate, If you have them sitting there.... then crack on. I am certainly no expert, but would happily assist someone more skilled in doing your conversion. Having gone down this route as a helper before, it really isn't too hard, as long as you have the right tools and a bit of patience. Please don't sell her Daff... this is one of the cleanest examples of a zed i have ever seen. I am sure if you send out an SOS to the membership and offer to keep people fed and watered with some beer tokens chucked in you would be able to get the conversion done sooner rather than later.
