Yes the orange tape is just to protect the rims whilst in transit. Although the data sheet for Carbon Collective, states it is safe for bare metal surfaces, I am still feeling pretty nervous about putting it on such a highly polished surface :w00t: Joel any idea how these sort of coatings can be removed when they get near the end of their life, and you want to apply a new coat?

Just found out that this was delivered today...... Pretty pricey for such a small bottle, but will hopefully keep the new wheels clean

Nice, at least I know what to expect now when i look at replacing my drivers side mirror back plate. The hunt is on for a UK drivers side unit in good condition :helpsmilie:
