Rebuilt engines - what oil?
I did yes, and not that I question his recommendation. Just wanted to know what other people have used, or recommendations from other reliable professional people in the know.

Rebuilt engines - what oil?
So I know there are a load of oil threads on here, but what is the oil of choice for a rebuilt motor? Obviously 10w-40 is the recommended oil from Nissan, but on a fresh motor after the initial 1st change of oil will a good 5w 40 be ok? (Awaits Slickpete)

Redundancy has it's highs!...
Echo what others have said on here about buying from the site, rather than ebay. Night be worth a phone call to Jeff @ Zedworld to see if knows of any of his customers that may be thinking of selling/for sale. Thats how I found mine.

Plug removal?
Cheers guys I'll try harder, had been trying with a "feeler" gauge, really don't want to break the back off the plugs.

Plug removal?
Any idea how the hell you can remove these plugs from the metal frame? I can see there is a small "tang" holding the plug in place, but how does it come off without breaking the plastic runners on the reverse of the plug?

PowerZed forged engine rebuild
Noel/Jim came to the map the car over the weekend, and good progress was made until he found out that the FPR has a faulty diaphragm. So the car is drivable, but can't get onto boost, as the engine leans out as the boost climbs. So as soon as I have a new FPR i will be back to get it finished Everything else is perfect, temps, tickover, etc... As for the exhaust well I'm glad I didn't go for the "anti-social" option, as this "loud" option, sets off one of my neighbours car alarm just as crawl past his car. I think Jim might be right, I will have to think about moving............ to a very isolated location!

PowerZed forged engine rebuild
I did have some Greddy IC's on the car Si, but sold them a while back. The ones I have now are from AMS and are the same size as Ashspec Massives http://www.amsmotorsports.com/shop/ind/rs-performance-2-5-superflowz-sidemount-intercoolers-ash-greddy-z1-hks.html

PowerZed forged engine rebuild
A few more updates, nothing to exciting yet. Car is back home now, and the first job was to replace the viscous fan as the original was acting up. Bought a 'pattern' from MJP for a fraction of the cost fo the OEM unit. Drilled out broken studs on wing, and drilled & taped the metal for bolts. After that I test fitted the bumper and found out that I have another problem. Having installed larger IC's the air ducts are pressing up against the face of after cutting back both ducts it eventually went on without fouling the IC face, but then I found the inside of the bumper fouls on the outer IC exit couplings so some more fettling on the positioning of the IC mounts :hammer: Should be some updates soon :whistling:
