1. Had a replacement PTU take 3 weeks to arrive via USPS.
2. To my mind CZP........ they have in the past, responded to my emails, Z1 never did! managed to come up with a slightly better price when buying mutiple items, argh and yes answered the phone when I have called them! They also package items up in plain boxes, rather than having "Z1 Motorsports" in large letters across the boxes, which helps when you don't want it advertised to Customs and Excise what is inside and the shipper can 'bend' the truth when it comes to the value of the goods. Which means you wil pay less duty. Personally I wouldn't buy from Z1 unless it was the only option, were as Coz @ CZP is always very helpfull. Just make sure whoever you use they don't send it via USPS as they f*c%ing alwful, and it would be quicker to ship via camel!

4. Right this will suit anyone who is doing a wide arch conversion, these are original Zed centre back boxes and rear pipe for a wide arch. You will see that they come with adjustable sliding joints one end so you can get the correct fit when passing the tail pipe through the rear bumper cut outs. The bumper on wide arch's are deeper than OEM bumper so youwill need this adjustment) There is also a pair of s/teel "rolled" out tips that clamp onto the ends of the system to finish it off. (not shown in pictures) Great sounding sytem, only selling as I have upgraded to a 3" system Collection only £110.00
5. I replaced a number of mine with s/steel bolts. Most of them from eBay
6. Look like a great line up there
7. No longer required, removed from my 94TT LWB as I have upgraded to a 3" system £40.00 Collection preffered
8. I will certainly be aiming to make that one Si!
9. I bet it did Si, if you heard it with out the rear exhaust?
10. Hopefully picking up the car soon, once Jim has sorted a few minor bits. Then it's due to get the front bumper back on, (now with the smooth look, although in primer) MOT'd and off to Noz for some mapping to see what she can do, can't wait!
11. Just last week whilst will Jim has been away, the car was already to have the final part of the works carried out, the last section of the exhaust. As there is no "off the shelf" solution for a wide arch in either 2.5 or 3" system I thought this was going to be a major problem to sort. But Jim said that a very reputable firm near him could do the work. (Infinity) Seeing as the car is 250 miles away from from me (round trip) and Jim has no way of getting it to Infinity, I figured on hiring a trailer to move the car. This is where I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Jaffa :thumbup1::clap: as he trailered my car car to Infinity and back again to Jim's workshop. That really is appreciated, and just goes to show again how great this forum is helping out fellow Zed nuts. I hope that I can repay the favour sometime Jaffa? Now with a complete 3" exhaust, 4" tail pipes. I haven't hear it yet, but according to Jaffa it sounds good... so thats good enough for me.
12. Out with the old and in with the new  Noz working his magic
13. Sorry more pictures of Jim's handy work. Tight fit! even with the BDE mounts Jim had to get the grinder out
14. Some more pictures of Jims work on the re-build.
15. Thanks Si, I think it's money well spent although I don't want to think about the ££££ too much, lol. Just wishing that I was running her in on the way to Coventry and back. Still as soon as she's back I plan on getting her on the road for what's left of the Summer.
16. September 2013 Unplugged as much of the ancillary items before she goes off to PoweZedCar to met its new power plant Car loaded, and on its way to PowerZed to met its new power plant. Being a wide arch even with the spare tyre on it was a very tight fit! By the time we reach Jim, the rear tyre had lost all it's air due to being push so hard against the side of trailer.
17. 20th June 2013, 18:18 Thought it was about time I updated the saga. Unfortunatley the heads were machined to the same crappy standards of the block, i.e no allowance was made for the shims. So we started again with new heads, with correctly fiiting valves and Jim had the shims machined to match everything. As Jim put it " if we would have started this up as it was, it would have rattled it t*ts off". So everything is now in place for the install. My new clutch plate etc arrived yesterday :thumbup1: OS Giken clutch complete
18. 27th January 2013, 14:32 Just a little update...... well it seems like that my concerns regarding the standard of build were justified. Once Jim had removed the pistons and rings etc he found that cyl 6 had a chipped scraper ring installed. But things got far worse once he checked the bores, they were way to big! The compression ring gap was 17 thou, should be 3 thou and the scraper rings had a whooping 25 thou! Also the crank bearings were smeared with what looked like regular grease no sign of any graphogen, this engine may have fired up if I had left things as they were, but it wouldn't have run for long or sounded pleasant either. Luckily for me Jim had a used block in good condition that we could get re-bored to the correct size to take my pistons etc. So another delay in the the scheme of things but at least this engine is going to run as sweet as a nut! Garrett 300ZX GT2871R Ball Bearing Turbo Kit (800HP) .86 A/R w/ Forge Actuators, Blue Spring Just arrived!, Off to PowerZed they go!
19. Thought I should move this from the 'Journal' forum and update where the project is at. Wish I was at Coventry with everyone, but these things always take longer than anticipated, lol 20/01/2013 Having had the car for a few years now I have finally given in to the urge for more power. The original engine in the car runs superbly only 66k miles with a proven Dyno run @ 357bhp, with boost jets and a uprated chip & air filter. Not bad at all for a 300ZX, but I was bitten by the bug and was set on going for more bhp and reliability, (I know why fiddle with it if it ain't broke). But having been lucky enough to have many nice high powered cars in recent years I wanted to keep the Zed long term and the engine is the first part of the project so it need's to be a good strong/reliable build. After looking at various options of buying a part built engine form the US I decide to also keep my eyes peeled for the poteintial of purchasing an uncompleted project rebuild. Back in March/April 2012 an ebay listing caught my eye regarding a nearly completed forged engine rebuild. The only problem with it was that the rebuild wasn't exactly completed by the most reputable of Zed engine builders known within the Zed world. In fact the seller had been caught up in horrific events where parts when missing, work was never finished and finally the garage was broken into and his engine was stolen. Retrieved from a nearby field 24 hours after going "missing". see here for a bit more http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showth...light=s+mochan After talking with the seller for sometime we struck a deal and I waited for the day when the pallet with the engine would arrive. It came with forged internals, Wiseco pistons, Eagle rods, ACL Duralite white metal bearings ARP main con rods and head bolts, Tomie 260 degree camshafts with solid lifters & harder springs, SARD 850cc injectors with a Border fuel rails/ new Turbo's, s/steel manifolds, new oil pump, heads polished, exhausts ports and valves shimed & lapped. Didn't look all that great mind when it finally arrived to be honest, and I still had my doubts as to whether I had done the right thing in buying this. After stripping down the engine as far I was prepared to take it anyway, I wasn't going to attempt to go much further, so I thought it would be best to get this done properly! So a call was made to Jim @ PowerZed to arrange a date to get everything to him in order for him to work his magic.
20. Can't wait to see this finished, keep the updates coming
21. Very nice Graham! Tweety pie yellow
22. How would deleting the EGR have stopped the engine hoovering up his CATS?
23. Recently my brother purchased a Super charger from Australia for his 3.0r Legacy. Just over a week ago his engine seized, over course there was lots of leg pulling about how he must have fitted the SC unit incorrectly or something similar. Anyway having just hot off the phone to him I was amazed to hear what has caused his engine to seize up. Now I have heard of CATS collapsing, but when my brothers collapsed the engine sucked up the debris and it passed through the EGR valve and end up against the exhaust valves! No wonder the engine was seized solid. Full story below http://www.uklegacy.com/forums/index.php/topic/132525-project-raptor/page__st__420 Needless to say that he will be seaking professional advise on this, before contacting the manufacturer. Would be interested to know if anyone has heard of this sort of thing happening before.
24. Happy Birthday Dan
