  1. Nice result, was the fire extinguisher just there to stop the pipe rolling away, or were you worried about the flames, lol.
  2. Nice earner there Jim
  3. Thought it was about time I updated the saga. Unfortunatley the heads were machined to the same crappy standards of the block, i.e no allowance was made for the shims. So we started again with new heads, with correctly fiiting valves and Jim had the shims machined to match everything. As Jim put it " if we would have started this up as it was, it would have rattled it t*ts off". So everything is now in place for the install. My new clutch arrived yesterday :thumbup1: Got the car in the garage and have just started on the engine removal.
  4. I see that tou can get new spacers etc from z1 if you buy their larger T/Bs question is does anyone sell the parts individually I.e springs spacers etc?
  5. Meister R also sell the front tension rods and adjustable f/r arms, speak to Jerrick.
  6. Really, thats good to know. Like Clint said it looks it ain't possible unless the subframe drops. I have another crack it then.
  7. Ok, direct him to the thread, or get him to send me a Pm
  8. Ok, so I wasn't sure where to post this, but bear with me. As some of you know Jimmer is doing an engine rebuild for me, which will soon be in my car. :cool3: My current engine will obviously then be in need of a new home. This engine has a full service history and is the original fitted to my car (a UK 93TT) 67k miles, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and has an extensive history with the cambelt, thermostat, etc being changed within the last 3k miles, the only reason I'm swapping it is I wanted some more power. I will need the ancillary items once it out like the power steering pump alternator etc. (turbos will stay with the engine,) but apart form that this engine will be good to go straight in to another car. I will take a video of the car/engine running so you can see that there is nothing wrong, still have a dyno print out as well when she last was on the rollers and pulled a respectable 357bhp. If anyone is looking for or knows anyone who needs a good TT engine drop me a pm, I'd rather let it go to a club member than have all the ball ache of selling it on eBay! Planning on pulling the engine in 2 weeks so could be seen running prior to this. Thought I'd post it here, rather than the " for sale" section for now
  9. Hi Dave, will need a few bits, let me know when you're ready to go
  10. Nearly there then..... like your bonnet struts, where were they from?
  11. Thats bad luck Ian! Have you considered a rear bumper from TWINZ seeing as the insurance company will be paying, doesn't look to disimilar from your current one?
  12. Will have a look and report back once I get home-this evening
  13. I bought a USB converter from Danny just before he stopped trading. He said the eBay converters wouldn't work with consult and So I bought one of his happy to look at it to find manufacturer details etc if it helps anyone?

  16. Ok, so I'm looking at doing a oil swap. What size is the gearbox plug, I know its approx 1/2" but is that 13mm or 12mm? Dont want to buy a whole set of the proper plug tools just the right one
  17. Not a great sitaution Joel, guess you either have to live with the damage or hope that they wheel refurb company can get very close to the original paint. Neither ideal, but which option will be easier to live with?
  18. I hear what you're saying Jeff, but I managed to get a rear spoiler from their other supplier, (what are they called TwinChip?) without any delays. This was last year aswell.
  19. Yes ideally should be replaced, along with the water pump.
  20. ^^^^^^^ As far as Im concerned smaller back box/s = louder exhaust note
  21. What a bummer mate. Hope they do the decent thing and admit liability, plus cough up on the repairs
