  1. Off the top of my head I know that Stillen do them but they cost an arm, leg, liver and possibly a kidney. AndyP (on this forum) has some uprated anti-sway bars fitted to his car which he sourced within the UK (possibly via MJP). Have a look on his website or ask him. I am actually looking into getting some solid 28mm anti-sway bars fabricated for sale through DTA-Motorsport. Haven't really had a lot of time to look around nor has there been a lot of requests for it so this may never materialise. One of the problems I have already encountered is sourcing the correct new polybushes to fit the bar into. As far as I am aware the front bar is easy to fit but the rear one requires some more ingenuity (this is from hearing other people talk about it and not from experience so I could be wrong). Regards, Edit - just had a look at AndyP's rides section and it states he's got Suspension Technique Anti-sway bars fitted - sourced through MJP. HTH
  2. Just for your info: Strut braces are meant to stiffen the upper part of the car's chassis. If you really want to make a difference then you should also fit uprated anti-sway bars which stiffen the lower part of the chassis. Together you will be stiffening up the car's structure which means a better cornering stability as they equalize the forces on the tyres more effectively, thereby optimising grip. However, do keep in mind that it also alters the cars' cornering behaviour. I.e., if in standard form the car moves from understeer to oversteer when cornering hard then it is possible that the addition of strut braces and uprated anti-sway bars will reduce the understeer but accentuates oversteer or vice versa. Just something to keep in mind. Having said all this, under normal driving conditions you will not notice a lot of difference from adding a strut brace. Fitting uprated anti-sway bars will make the car corner flatter. Just my 2p worth. Cheers!
  3. Hi Mark! I've just updated the thread in my trader section but to keep a long story short: The first prototype was developed for a LHD car and didn't fit properly on our RHD Zeds. I will now be receiving a revised prototype by the end of this week (or possibly early next week depending on how quick the postal services are) and need to test the fitment of that. Once I've ok'd fitment we can move on to the production stage quite quickly and should have an initial batch ready for sale within a month's time. Please bear with us on this one as we want to get the design/fitment absolutely spot on (it's not worth offering it otherwise). I'll update the original thread with some pics after I have fitted the new prototype. Cheers!
  4. Be careful when using glass polish as it may leave the window "distorted" causing the outside world to appear fuzzy/distorted. I have some scratches in the driver side window due to sand being lodged between the rubber and glass. Took it to Autoglass and they advised against polishing them out for the above reasons. Just my 2p worth. Regards,
  5. Hi Matty, I bought the one MTL has highlighted a couple of weeks ago but have yet to fit it. Should get around to it in the next couple of days and will let you know what the reception is like. The sales guy at Maplins did say that you'll loose reception quicker with the windscreen mounted antenna compared to the regular uppy-downy one. See you soon mate!

Thanks for the info Leigh - will have a look at that link ... By the way, where abouts in Solihull are you? I'm there quite often as I live on the Sutton Coldfield/Erdington border ... Wouldn't mind meeting up for a drink and a chat at some point. Currently my car is a bit poorly but hope to get that sorted soon-ish. Regards,

Found them! http://www.mobiletoys.co.uk/acatalog/Parking_Sensors.html - about half way down the page. Hope this helps! Leigh, would be interested in finding out more about your system mate - please pm me (or post here) some specs/details. Many thanks! Regards,

Can't remember where I've seen this (will do a search tomorrow and post here if I can find it) but there is a company which manufactures numberplate surrounds with parking sensors build into the surround! I think the sensors were located at either side of the number plate both at the front and rear of the vehicle. That way you don't need to drill any holes and wiring the thing up should be a doddle. I'll have a look and let you know. Regards,
  9. Thanks for your feedback guys. So, in summary - and if I understand this correctly - I need CDR's to burn a CD-ROM like a music CD (I won't be able to burn to it again) and CD-RW's to burn a CD-ROM which I can burn to again (eg doing incremental backups). These are then two distinct and different media forms. Ta muchly! Dan
  10. Hi guys, I have just bought a Novatech DVDCD4 CD-ROM rewriter/dvd player combo drive (48x/24x/48x & 16x DVD). Absolutely great value for money at £35.25 (incl VAT) IMHO and it comes with all the fixings, Nero software, INCD software, DVD player software etc). Plugged it all into the PC case and worked straight away - now how often does that happen?! However, being an absolute novice to CD burning I have a question regarding the CD media. I have bought some Mr Data CDR's (48x compatible) and am now wondering if I need different CDR's for writing to once and for rewriting? Probably a stupid question but you don't learn if you don't ask :) Also, whilst on the topic of burning CD's, if I want to create music CD's from mp3 files stored on my PC, how do I include the CD title and track titles and do I need to do anything to make it work on my Alpine headunit (it plays mp3 files and is CDRW compatible according to the manual). Your feedback is greatly appreciated as always. Regards,
  11. I have had the good fortune of having briefly owned a F355 spyder when living in Marbella a couple of years ago. Very nice car but compared to the Zed even more expensive, less reliable and far more worrying with every creak you hear. Performance wise they are on a par with a modified Zed from 0-80mph, then the TT will start to pull away (but not by much) - from personal experience. Wouldn't mind getting another one when finances permit (as well as the wife because she never liked the first one I had ...) Regards,
  12. The car is in Sweden. Haven't got any further details though other that a faint recollection that the owner spent in the neighbourhood of £60k on mods ... Regards,
  13. Very nice Matty! You just know that the next step is more "bling" under that bonnet ... check out our chromed covers & dipsticks at http://www.dta-motorsport.co.uk. All the best for 2004 mate! Regards,
  14. For anyone who is considering buying a 350Z they might want to invest in the key ring as the actual key/fob is exactly the same as the MICRA key! Guess that is where they saved some dosh! At least us Z32 owners have a special key! LOL

Insurance Factory will do you a good deal. Have been with them for two years now and do not pay extra for being a Jap-spec Z, mods which affect bhp will put the premium up by an estimated 15% (over stock). Beware that you must declare any modifications as failure to do so may invalidate your policy and cause them not to pay out in case the worse happens! HTH.
  16. Hi John, Hope you had a good Crimbo. Can't help you with the internal diameter of the fuel hoses but did want to let you know that if you go for the standard stuff that you need to specify "high pressure" tubing as the fuel pressure in the 300 is higher than in many other vehicles. Fire off an e-mail to Smithy and he should be able to tell you (and then sell you the braided variety - high quality stuff!). Regards mate!
  17. Hiya Matty! Yep, t'was me doing my usual panic shopping at the last moment :) (hope you were more successful than me ...) Didn't notice you until you passed me and put your thumb up! Nice to see you by the way! Your car sounds great - what exhaust is that? My stock exhaust is currently blowing but with all this rain I haven't had a chance to get under the car to see where the problem is. Best wishes for Christmas and New Year to you and Em ... hopefully see you soon. Regards, Danny
  18. Alistair, Which e-mail address are you sending it to? Try danny@zaat.com, dannyzaat@yahoo.co.uk or info@dta-motorsport.co.uk. As far as I'm aware all of these are in good working order as I'm checking them on a regular basis and receiving loads of SPAM! Looking forward to hearing from you mate. Regards,
  19. NB: UK spec 300's have blue tinted glass all round; Jap spec 300's have brown tinted glass. Have seen a few with mix-n-match windows: looks funny (read: odd) :) The Jap spec glass is very difficult and expensive to get hold of in this country. Had a quote about a year ago (from Nissan) of around £700 (glass only - the surround fixings were another £150). Fitting was going to cost around £250 :o Am sure you can get it cheaper elsewhere though. Regards,
  20. Morning John, There's no problem with posting the link and I'm sure it provides a lot of interesting information for people who, like you, like to play with stuff. Where we (DTA) are coming from is more of a commercial perspective. These plans have been circulating for quite a while now and there exists a potential negative impact to our business. And as in any business we want to minimize the impact of any competition (direct or otherwise) by (a) offering a superior product and service, (b) informing our (potential) customers on the implications/compatibility issues, © seeing if there is a way that we can work with the new product in a way that will benefit our customers as well as our business, and (d) pre-empting any queries. That is what my original post was all about. I'm aware that you weren't posting it in direct relation to the ConZult/Consult but I hope you can understand that I had to respond from a business perspective. All the best mate! Regards,
  21. Yes, I can confirm that the Apexi filters are of the "dry" variety and can be cleaned as Stuart suggests - just use water and let it dry thoroughly before putting it back onto the MAF. Do not use the spray cleaners/oil as sold by Halfords and Daemon Tweeks as this will render the filter element useless. Regards,
  22. Oh dear ... here we go ... These DIY Consult interface plans have been rapidly making their way to us from OZ via the US. We (DTA-Motorsport) have been aware of these plans for quite some time now and have been working on formulating a response to the inevitable question "Why should we pay out £265 for a ConZult when you can build one yourself?" It is a fair question and the answer is that there is more than meets the eye when you are looking to build a DIY Consult to monitor your car's sensors and diagnose problems. Firstly, and I can not confirm this so I say this will caution and all due respect to those who "came up" with the DIY schematics, it has been alleged that there appears to be some degree of "reverse engineering" involved from one of our ConZults. Lets leave it at that. Secondly, our ConZult software - as released when you purchase one - will not work with the DIY box! We are working on modifying the current diagnostic software to work with the DIY box so that it can be sold on a licence basis. Further information will be released in due course. Thirdly, as with any DIY project, unless you know exactly what you are doing don't mess with it! There is potentially an infinite number of disasters waiting to happen. DTA-Motorsport (and it's distributors) will not take responsibility for any problems, damage or faults caused by using our software in conjunction with any DIY Consult box. We have spent a lot of time developing the ConZult hardware to ensure it is absolutely safe to use and does not cause damage to the car's engine or engine managment system and in conjunction with the (ongoing) development of the diagnostic software - this is what is reflected in the purchase price. The total package - hardware, software, manuals, updates, user forum, etc - is very good value for money when compared to a Consult session at Nissan or even a Techtom. In conclusion - DTA-Motorsport acknowledges the existence of the above mentioned DIY interface plans. Our currently available software does not work with this DIY interface and we do not support it in any way. Upon further investigation (of alleged "reverse engineering" claim and software development) news of new software will be announced via the distributors in due course - DTA-Motorsport.co.uk in the UK. We strongly urge individuals thinking of building this particular DIY interface to be completely confident in what they are doing before attempting this type of project as incorrect usage may result in irrepairable damage to your vehicle. DTA-Motorsport wishes everybody on this forum a happy Christmas and all the best for 2004. Regards,

NB: Courtesy only provide LHD mats which don't fit our RHD cars! Regards,
  24. Steve, Book it in with Jeff at ZedWorld. He'll set it up properly so that you have a correct basis to work from if/when tuning it further. Ask him nicely and he might even tune it for you ;) I have spoken to dozens of people who have had their car set up/tuned by him and all are very pleased with the change it made to the driveability of the car. And on the plus side, Tamworth isn't a million miles away from Gloucester! His contact details are in the Traders Forum. Good luck.
  25. The red valet key will only allow access to the driverside door and ignition but not to any of the other locks (i.e. pass/lock, glove box & boot) so there is not much point in getting that copied. Regards,
