  1. I'm afraid I don't. I don't think there is one manufacturer who does a kit for the 300ZX. What I have seen some guys do in the US and also OZ is to somehow plumb in an ultra bright orange LED between the top of the high beam and dip beam. Don't know how well that works when you've got the lights on or whether it is legal in this country but it's a work around. Dan
  2. Sounds like dodgy ballasts. You say you've tried switching them over - have you switched the ballasts without switching the bulbs and then switch the bulbs without switching the ballasts - that way you can try and isolate the problem - bulbs or ballasts. Also, does your kit have separate "ignitors" - ie, you've got a bulb, ballast and ignitor either side of the car? If so it could be the ignitor that's faulty. Edit: just had another thought. Some ballasts are very sensitive to being mounted on metal. Try isolating the ballast from the car's chassis by placing it on a bit of rubber. Dan
  3. There are infact legal requirements as to the spacing, location and distances between indicators, etc. It's somewhere on the web (I'm sure I've seen it recently). I'll do a search and post it up if I find it. Dan
  4. The top stainless steel hose on its own (polished to a mirror finish and including silicone sleeves and s/s bands) comes in at £65. To get the adapter boss welded in will cost an additional £15 if we've got the right boss. If not, and one needs to be fabricated it'll be another £15. So ... either £80 or £95 depending on the situation. In both cases we would require your sender unit to ensure a perfect match with our boss. Delivery times are variable in the sense that it will obviously take a little longer if we need to have a boss fabricated. In general count on a turn around time of anywhere between 5 and 10 days. Dan
  5. Hi Kev, I have no idea if the sender will pass through the bulkhead as I've never installed gauges before but ... if you require a stainless steel upper rad pipe with fitting welded on then please let me know. I've taken over the production and sale of all of Smithy's hard pipe kits (radiator and intake/boost). Dan
  6. You usually specify the car make and model at the time of purchase but these harnesses can be sourced individually. Best bet is Chris at GetGReddy (see trader section). HTH Dan
  7. You'll need the car specific harness.
  8. Yep, I'm only about 30 mins away from JD. Better ask my wife whether we've already got something planned for Sunday ... hope not ;) Cheers! Dan
  9. Hi all, Following on from a previous thread about the fitment of a Stillen rear strut brace I thought I'd put up a separate thread to explain the actual fitting issue. Stillen advertises their rear strut brace as being able to fit to cars fitted with aftermarket suspension only. This is due to the fact that all US cars (and I believe most UK cars as well) have adjustable rear suspension with an actuator fitted to the top of the strut. This is where the problem lies ... aparently (and I can't verify this myself) the rear strut brace fouls on the actuator. As far as I know (and please correct me if I'm wrong) US, Euro and UK spec 300ZX's have adjustable suspension - JDM's do not. I will look into this fitting issue more closely when I get a new Stillen rear strut brace in. Perhaps it is just a matter of redesigning the support tower. Hope this has cleared up some questions. Regards, Dan
  10. Thanks for the feedback taff. Yes, I will try to import more Carbing front strut bars in the future but as you know they are notoriously difficult to get hold of. If they haven't already sold out their 2006 production run for the 300ZX then I will do my best to get some more. Rgds, Dan
  11. Yep, we sell them and in our considered opinion it is the best you can currently get (and good value for money too!) Have two in stock priced at £85 plus £5 delivery. Please form an orderly queue! ;) Cheers! Dan
  12. Hi Dave, This is a project I'm also looking into at the moment :)! One thing I thought I'd mention to you is that you may want to consider using two Avermedia DVB cards. That way you can still watch one channel whilst recording an other. This is what I intend to do but have yet to figure out whether the software can handle a twin-tuner setup. Good luck! Dan
  13. By looking at the support towers on the picture provided I would say YES it will fit a Euro ZX with stock suspension setup. Dan
  14. Sure, there are certain aftermarket suspension kits available (I don't know which ones though) which have a different stud pattern - possibly four studs in place of three or even two. Can't be more specific than that. But if your Teins are the same stud pattern then you shouldn't have a problem with most strut braces. By the way, how do you like the Tein Flex system? I've been toying with the idea of putting them on my car at some point but have heard feedback varying from "great" to "pants" so would like to know how you like them. Did you get them set up professionally? Cheers! Dan
  15. Yes it should - depending on the model and make of the strut bar. Bear in mind that certain strut bars (for example, the Stillen rear strut bar) will only fit if you've got aftermarket suspension fitted - the bolt pattern is different. Cheers, Dan
  16. Mary had a little sheep, With that sheep she went to sleep. The sheep turned out to be a ram, And that how Mary had her little lam! ;)
  17. Trust is the name that GReddy markets their stuff under in Japan.
  18. FYI: Standard injectors will max out at or just below 15psi of turbo boost (has been proven by various ConZult diagnostics). So no matter what turbos you're running, as long as you've got standard injectors there's no point in going beyond 15psi. HTH Dan
  19. I'd like to offer a different opinion on the safety of JWT chip. If you look into their mappings you'll find that they've done away with the "safety maps" which means that if detonation occurs the ECU can't engage the safety maps to try and minimise damage. Other than that the chip is fairly standard and ok for moderate mods. An alternative I would like to offer is our DTA Performance Chip. It is more aggressive than a JWT chip yet maintains safety maps for when things go wrong. We've had tremendous results with these chips (on both TT's and NA's) and even have it fitted to a record setting 1/4 mile Zed up in Scotland. It's a good, solid and reliable chip and we have maps available for all sorts of mods (ie, 370cc, 555cc, 850cc, single induction, dual induction, etc, etc.) It's priced at £65 plus a fiver postage and you will need to get you ECU "socketed" by a professional outfit (unless you are confident you can do it yourself). Dan
  20. Thanks guys! I really don't think this one is spyware related as I've scanned both HDD's with four different anti-spyware programmes! Nothing was found by any of them - not even tracking cookies! I've got some time to work on this tomorrow so will give the various suggestions a go. PK1 - think I've still got your number - will give you a call mate! All the best, Dan
  21. Thanks for all the advice and download links - I really appreciate it! :D I've installed the defrag programme you suggested and it's done its magic - it hasn't changed the way the PC runs but I suppose it's now properly defragged. I'd appreciate the pro version - pm me if you like. I've got to sort out a lot of administration work tonight and don't want to do anything to the PC which may crash it (or worse)... Will try the BIOS setting tomorrow. Cheers! Dan
  22. Thanks, will have a look and let you know. I haven't been in the BIOS since I built the PC (that's over a year ago now ...) Don't see why that would have changed all of a sudden. Cheers for the reply! Dan
  23. Further to what I posted earlier I've also noticed this morning that during start up the PC now goes through a "pre-boot" sequence. Never seen that before. It then displays some info about a "MAC address" and searching for a "DCHP" ... It then finally states something along the lines of "no boot address found" and then continues merrily witht he bootup sequence. Everything works fine after this. Could this be related in any way to the slow performance? Dan PS - next time I reboot I'll have a closer look at what is being displayed during the pre-boot sequence.
  24. Thanks mate - I appreciate that! I'm just downloading the software now and will let you know how I get on. Cheers! :) Dan
  25. Dave, this is something of a mystery ... Nissan seems to have used different bulb holders throughout the years (some were straight pinned, others asymetricals) and there is no rhyme or reason to their use ... Perhaps they used what they could get hold of. Best thing to do when buying new bulbs is to first look at the bulb holder you've got and take it from there. Dan
