  1. I'm liking the body coloured headlight insert ... but why only on one side? :nelson:
  2. Look for somewhere in Croatia along the adriatic coast. I've not been myself but know of a few people (including my parents) who absolutely love it there. Scenery is beautiful, people very friendly and most importantly it is not yet over-priced. Failing that any of the less well known Greek islands are also lovely. I try to avoid the likes of Crete, Rhodos, Corfu as they are too touristy for my liking. But be ware, it gets extremely hot during July/August (I should know - I lived in Athens for 5 years ...) HTH Dan
  3. I believe that this is the kit that Smithy has mounted at the front of his car. Do a search on here as I know he posted quite some information a short while ago. From what I can recall from speaking to him about it he said that performance is not affected much. HTH Dan
  4. I have it on good authority that you can't get Noltec engine mounts anymore (or at least not very easily). Reports that have filtered back to me over the years is that these mounts are rated as very poor due to the fact that they come apart and don't last very long. I haven't got any personal experience with them and can only pass on what I have been told.
  5. Dan, In my experience the Nismo mounts are very solid which translates into increased vibration and noise travelling up through the chassis. Furthermore, the Nismos are prone to early failure due to the increased vibration. I've seen several 700+ BHP Z32's (in the US) running stock mounts and have been perfectly fine. Have a look at our website: http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/oem.php - you're after item OEM012. Can order those in for your (approx. 10 days delivery) and nearly 1/2 the price of Nissan UK item! HTH Dan
  6. Yes, I'm aware of that but strictly speaking the 300 was never a so-called "supercar" and hence should not be displayed as such. I know that 300's have been there for quite some year, usually in very small numbers. When I enquired about arranging a larger space for 20+ cars I was "informed" that this wouldn't be possible due to the nature of the car. Hence my question about how you managed to secure space for 24 cars ... that's all. :) I'm glad you did - will be good to see a collection of 300's holding their own amongs the more exotic cars. I was there last year in my 300 but only because I came with the Lamborghini Club UK (of which I'm a member). I parked well out of the way of the main area and did overhear some people questioning why the car was there at all. Then again, the MX5 Club usually show up with a few cars as does Alfa Romeo ... and they get these remarks all the time. In any case - it's all academic and it really doesn't matter one way or the other. It's all about enjoying a good day out so in that spirit I shall hopefully see you all there! ;) However, remind me not to stand too close to the fence when Russ Swift comes tearing past in his EVO (or like) as I got a big mouthfull of burned rubber last year! :wack:
  7. That car (as featured in the Top Gear article and numerous other magazine features) is actually an "incomplete" car. The gearbox is out of an A4 and they had to limit the torque to half of what it should be. I asked the dealer principal about this car a few weeks back when I was looking at an S8 and he said no final decision had been made whether this car will see production. However, he was quick to add that it does look likely but potentially as a limited production run only. Guess we'll have to wait and see ...
  8. I don't think he works there anymore. He posted up recently about moving out to the Seychelles (I think) to work there. I'm not sure he's even still in the country. Could be wrong though ...
  9. I'll be there although not in my Z ... I'll be catching a ride with a friend who's bringing his MYO8 Lamborghini LP640 Roadster :hyper: He's driving it down from Monaco on the Saturday so I hope the weather holds out on the day ... nothing worse than driving in a real super car with a very leaky canvas roof! LOL! By the way Ceejay, how did you manage to persuade the organisers that the 300/350/etc are classed as "supercars"? I tried that some years ago and was told in no uncertain terms to get my head examined ... LOL!
  10. No problemo! Enjoy the trip! Dan
  11. One of my customers who lives locally regularly uses his Murcielago to do the shopping at our local-ish Morrisons! Not that long ago he was there in is black Murci when a young lady showed up in her white Gallardo Spyder! When I asked why he didn't do his shopping at a more "up-scale" establishment he answered quite plainly that he sees no reason to squander his hard earned cash just because he has a fair bit of it. Fair point. As for the R8, lovely car that - I liked the one that showed up at ZO08 on the Saturday ... was that anyone on here? Personally I would wait for the V12Tdi version that's been doing the rounds of all the magazines ... It may be an oilburner but that's what makes it so different. I'll get my coat now ... ;)
  12. Yes mate, I'm here ... I'm in the middle of doing the yearly accounts for Companies House at the moment so may not be too quick to answer. Yes, £305 is for a set of 4. Regards, Dan
  13. I retail them out at £305 plus £15 shipping.
  14. Correct and works everytime. However, you may want to turn over the engine (with fuse removed) to empty the lines. Always use a rag/kitchen paper under the part you are disconnecting to catch the majority of any spillage. BTW - the Fuel Pump relay is the one located closest to the engine block inside the small fuse box on the driver side (just in front of the brake booster servo). Alternatively, connect the car to one of our ConZult Diagnostic Kits and disable the fuel pump via a click of your mouse! ;) HTH Dan
  15. Hi Si, I'm no expert on the HICAS system but have you got an aftermarket steeringwheel fitted with a HICAS enabled boss? Only reason I ask is that I've seen one previous example where an incorrectly aligned steeringwheel boss caused the HICAS system to go beserk. If memory serves me the issue with that particular car was that the two HICAS discs in the boss were not aligned properly with the steering wheel in the "dead ahead" position. This caused the sensor the constantly read that the steering wheel was off-centre by a few degrees and consequently activated the rear steering. However, the HICAS ECU is intelligent enough to know when there is a problem and after a few minutes of reading this incorrect angle it lights up the HICAS warning light and disables the HICAS (until the next startup). This may be what is causing the problem with your setup. You may want to send Eric (aka Lymon) a PM and ask him as he's very well versed with the HICAS system. Alternatively, get the car on a ConZult and do a HICAS diagnostic. If you've got your steetingwheel centred the diagnostic screen should indicate a steering angle of 0 - any other reading indicates the steering wheel and/or HICAS plates in the boss may require aligning. HTH All the best, Dan
  16. Luke's been having a lot of problems with virusses and even had his site hijacked recently. I was under the impression that it was all fixed about a couple of weeks ago but I guess it wasn't ...
  17. Hi! I was over in KL last year for a couple of weeks and saw about three Z32's (in various stages of tune/dressup) so there are a few out there. Saw all of them around the Bukit Bintang area and one at the KLCC. Don't know of any garages but if I were you I'd start looking for some of the more specialist garages. There are a lot of exotic and special cars in Malaysia so someone will know how to look after them. One word of advise ref. your Zed in KL: when it rains in KL it pours container loads at a time and the drainage system isn't all that great. I've seen 4x4's struggle on main roads after a deluge of about 10 minutes so try not to get caught in the "lakes" with the Zed - they are notorious for sucking up water through the induction system which will not only ruin the filter and air flow meter but knacker the engine as well. You may want to invest in new engine and filter splash guards. Congratulations on the emigration - KL is definitely a great place to be. People are superbly friendly, your money goes a long way and the food is exquisite (and very cheap). Dan
  18. Sorry for the hijack but is this STA in Knowle (Solihull) by any chance? If not could you PM me his contact details please as I need one of my AT boxes rebuilding and upgrading shortly. Thanks! Dan
  19. Leigh, Your stock turbos are fine running 14psi boost (they max out at around 17psi but your injectors max out before that at 15psi so 14psi is quite safe). Provided your ECU was chipped correctly and you are running either boost jets or better yet, a boost controller, you are fine. Unless you are having running problems at the moment I don't see why Z-Tech would have recommended a turbo refurb ... ZedWorld ECU upgrades are safe and extensively tested. HTH Dan
  20. Edited: sorry NO links to Zedworld! And yes, the forum has changed. Updated software, new features and a reshuffle of the location of the various forums ... Regards, Dan
  21. I had my Kahn RSC-2pc alloys refurbed last year - these also have a similar polished S/S lip like the Anteras. You have to split the alloy to remove the S/S lip - something that the refurb company didn't want to do. So, on advice of Kahn, they sent them to a local Porsche centre who did it for them. Sent the bits back to the refurb place, got it all sorted and then back to Porsche again to reassemble the wheel. Bit of a long winded approach but they do look superb now! I did pay significantly more than £30 per alloy though ...
  22. Hi, I'm looking for a simple backup program that will back up my inbox/sent items in MS Outlook 2002. Incrementally if possible as there is rather a lot in them and I don't fancy sitting around for hours every day waiting for it to back up onto my memory stick. I've tried to use the MS recommended program (off their website) but can't get past their "validation" stage ... :x: so need third party software. Any and all recommendations on a postcard to ... ;) Thanks! Dan
  23. If I recall correctly the OD of the O2 sensor requires a 21mm crowfoot.
  24. All IMHO of course but buying an M3 is like buying an Imprezza - they will all have had a very hard life and will more than likely have seen a shunt or two at some point. If you are after the look, practicality and performance of the M3 soft top then you should also look into the 325/330 convertibles - these tend to have been less abused yet still offer excellent performance.
  25. Jose, If you are serious about tuning your 96 ZX then I can strongly advise you to contact DTA-Motorsport in Holland. They are very well respected throughout Europe and can offer you full tuning options. They also work quite closely with Ash so may be able to help resolve the ECU problem you are having. Good luck, Dan
