  1. Have fun mate! And while you're there see if you can find Smithy and tell him he needs to respond to my e-mails/PM's/Texts please :headvswal Cheerio! Dan
  2. Don't bother getting one (or two) from the UK as (a) they will be locked to the O2 network and (b) they are most expensive compared to other countries in the EU (France seems to be cheapest). Alternatively, get one from the US and have it shipped back. Much, MUCH cheaper and they'll work out of the box! Dan
  3. One "amusing" side effect of removing the heatshield is that on rainy days your bonnet will look like it is smoking (it is just evaporating rain water) but the looks you get from passers-by is priceless!
  4. I'm actually looking for an installer for a new alarm into one of our cars. Can you let me have your mate's number please and I'll give him a call to see what he can do. Thanks, Dan
  5. The mrs woke me up to say "something's rattling the cupboard doors". Then promptly turned over and went back to sleep. In the meantime I'm lying there thinking "cool! an earthquake!". Asked her this morning what she thought of it but she can't remember anything. Now she's p*ssed off she missed it ... LOL :) Reminds me of the 5 years I spent in living in Greece. Experienced a lot of earthquakes much more violent than this one. But then again, different type of earthquakes and different type of ground so likely to feel different. Worst one was an 8-second 6.8 - needed new undercrackers after that one ...
  6. Dan, I've got caliper relocation brackets available from stock. They're normally part of our big brake conversion kit, which uses Skyline 330mm discs, but can sell the brackets on their own. £80 for the pair, which includes two brackets, bolts and washers. Postage will be around £8. If you want some good quality discs have a look at my website: http://www.smithys-place/brakes.php and look at the DBA discs - very good quality and readily available. HTH Dan
  7. Payment details: Paypal: please add 3% to shipped total and send to payments@dta-motorsport.co.uk Debit/Credit Card: please phone us on 07044 016586 with card details HTH Dan
  8. You can come to me ... Smithy's Place/DTA-Motorsport (UK)! :) I've got a pair in stock, priced at £120 plus £6 postage. Nissan will charge around £100 for each sensor. Let me know if you're interested. Cheers! Dan
  9. Please see my response to your post over in the DTA-Motorsport Traders Section. I have several options available.
  10. The Code 34 could well be a break in the wiring harness leading from the det sensor to the ECU. The ECU will retain error codes for up to 50 starts.

I've got a few sets of NGK PFR6B-11B's in stock. Excellent plug and correct temperature range for your "mods". £55 plus £5.85 delivery (Special Delivery). Cheers! Dan
  12. No problem - you're in the orderbook for one. They are unpolished stainless steel (you don't see them once installed so no need to polish - but can be easily done). Dan
  13. Yep, about a 5 minute job if you don't know what you're doing and a 2 minute job if you do! The brace is supplied with full fitting instructions (incl. pics, etc) so you can't go wrong. There is only limited stock remaining (2 units only) so if you do want one let me know now and I'll reserve it for you. Regards, Dan
  14. Yep, I've still got some in stock (about three I think). £25 incl. delivery Regards, Dan
  15. It's not that unusual to get a so-called "US import" RHD vehicle. At the time of ordering a new car the buyer will have specified a RHD vehicle to be delivered in the US with the "final destination" being the UK/Japan/OZ/whatever. The car will be allowed to remain in the US as long as certain conditions are met (ie, the car needs to be exported to the final destination when the buyer leaves the country/not allowed to sell the car on the local market/etc). My family has been in the foreign service for as long as I can remember and we've often had so-called import cars. For example, we had a UK-spec (but LHD) Caddillac STS delivered in South Korea (brand new) with the stated final destination being the US. Upon leaving Korea the car was taken to Saudi Arabia and after three years there it was exported back to the US where it was sold. So now there is a UK-spec LHD Caddilac driving around somewhere on the West Coast. No big deal but it does hurt residual value.
  16. Yes I can - I deal with the company that makes them. Not cheap though ... around £295 delivered to the UK.
  17. Patrick, If you remove the headlight units from the car you can take it apart by undoing the various screws holding in the rubber. Then you need to heat the seal between the glass and plastic with a heater (a hair dryer will do). When the adhesive is warm you can CAREFULLY split the glass from the plastic by using some screwdrivers. Start in a corner and work your way around. Once you have separated the headlight you can remove the plastic insert (two small screws at the front) and paint it. While you have the headlight apart you should also clean the inside of the glass parts (don't forget the inside of the projector sphere). Good luck. Dan PS - I DO NOT recommend putting the headlight in the oven at 50 degrees C. You're likely to destroy the headlight and the oven will smell for a long time! ;)
  18. For your reference: JDM (Import) spec: Dip-beam = H3C Main-beam = H1 Fog-light = H3 Side-light (also inside fog-light housing) = capless 501 (5W) I currently have plenty of H3C Xtreme White bulbs in stock (£15/pair plus £3.25 Recorded Delivery). These are of better quality than most ebay bulbs and available now. Also have H1 and H3 bulbs to match (both are £11/pair plus postage). Regards, Dan
  19. Chaps - I've been in contact with Powertrix for some prices and should be in a position to give difinitive information by the end of business today or early tomorrow morning. I'd be more than happy to arrange a GB for these items so stay tuned! Regards, Dan
  20. Unfortunately, and contrary to popular belief, money does not guarantee happiness. Wealth gives you opportunities and options you didn't have before. It also comes with greater responsibilities and worries (like tax minimalization and investment portfolio performance). You can employ people to look after your money and invest it wisely to maximise your profits but there is just so much potential to be ripped off. People will forever be asking you for money (be it gifts, grant or loans) or in the extreme you'll be opening yourself (and your family) up to security risks previously not present. One of my former MD's - Gary Corbett of Opera Telecom - is worth around £80m and despite his vast wealth he would be the first person to say that he's far from happy. He's gone through two divorces, tax investigations, etc, etc and he's forever moving money around to minimize his tax exposure. He's a workaholic by nature so hasn't given up working - he is in fact one of the most driven and ambitious entrepreneurs I know. True, he's got all the trappings of a good life but it hasn't made him happy. I don't know who said the following: "I've been poor and happy and I've been rich and unhappy" ... and despite what I've written above I know which one I'd rather be ;)

Turn around for a custom chip is the same as for an off-the-shelf chip - approximately 7 days at the moment because I need to have the chip shipped in from Holland (my burner is on the blink so don't want to take the risk of supplying a dodgy chip). As for shipping of the ECU - the easiest thing is for you to ship your ECU (via Special Delivery) to AndyP. I will supply Andy with your chip and he will do the work and ship the ECU back to you. Normally Andy can turn this type of work around in a couple of days. For example, you send him your ECU on Monday and it arrives on Tuesday. Andy will then try to get it back in the post to you on either Wednesday or Thursday via next-day delivery. So you are best off planning on having the car off the road for about 4-5 days. This is also quicker than sending me your ECU and me having to send it to Andy (and then the reverse route). As for the decat question - you can make do with an off-the-shelf chip. HTH Dan

Hi, Yes, this is still valid. We have so-called "off-the-shelve" DTA Performance Chips which cater for cars with the basic mods (induction & exhaust) but can also provide custom chips spefic for your exact mods (same price by the way). For NA's the gain is pretty much in the driveability - ie, torque is increased in the mid-range as well as optimised at VTEC. You will not notice a deterioration in your MPG and in some cases we've even recorded better mileage! I haven't got NA "before & after" performance data to hand as I only know of our TT taking to the rollers. By all accounts (based on about a dozen or so sales to NA owners) the car becomes better to drive and feels much stronger. By contrast, one of our customers who had one of our first itterations of the TT chip is now running a competition winning 1/4-mile Zed up in Scotland - we must be doing something right! :) If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me. All the best, Dan

This will most likely be due to a faulty oil pressure sensor. These are prone to fail given the age of the cars. Nissan charge around £80+ VAT for these but you may as well get an aftermarket oil press. gauge. Oil wise - there are many (divided) opinions on this. I have always uses Castrol Magnatec 10W40 without any running problem (summer or winter). HTH Dan PS - Welcome to the Club!
  24. With shipping, import duty & VAT that will still run you around £280~300-ish.
  25. Yes, and even more  -ing when you consider they are doing this on a highway in their SANDALS!
