  1. Hi Guys, sorry for the delay, bell housing? yeah, i think thats what i'm on about, i'll see if i still have a pdf of the SM. CB, its a NA Auto, Whaddon!! you're kidding..thats about 400yds from me, i live just off whitecroft road, which goes past Eternit. Rich
  2. Hi Guys, after suffering a ramp dismount, i have got the car back up on the ramps and the gearbox is now under the car awaiting lifting and securing. However..(here it comes) i seem to have mislaid the small tub that held the securing bolts. So does anyone have any idea of the size/length/type that i need. Regards Rich
  3. Guys, i want to thank you all for your kind words of concern and compassion, as soon as it started to move i was out of there in a flash.. only trouble is, as i said, it trapped my trolley jack underneath, it was sideways at the time so it buried the rear wheel, about 6 -8 inches of steel and a wheel into the ground, so i cant just pull it out!. I've just realised, the top picture was an early one, i have since then put slabs underneath the wheels to stop the car burying the ramps. Those bits of wood were there to put under the wheel to give me 3 -4 inches of lift at the back. trouble was, to get that lift, first the car needed lifting past the suspension travel, Thats when it started to slowly move which is when i split and watched it come down. Steams, i see what you say about the movement of the car during jacking, i suppose that a feature!! (bug) of using a large trolley jack, its linear movement as it raises is backwards, so maybe axle stands would tip as well? yes/no?? I suppose in a garage environment, the jack would have rolled forwards as it went up, unfortunately, shingle doesn't let the jack roll... Anyway, the main thing is i'm okay and ready to try again, once i dig out my trolley jack.... Regards Rich
  4. There was i jacking up the rear of the car to place some blocks underneath to raise it by a few inches when... well from the before and after pictures you can see what happened.. lucky i wasn't underneath at the time.. what was underneath was my 3 ton trolley jack which is now jammed into the ground with a 2 ton car on it!! Rich
  5. hi guys, i need to jack up the rear of the car, can i position the jack on the diff or is there somewhere else, i would prefer to jack the rear up as one, but can do each side on its own if i have to. Rich

  8. Hi Guys, i'm in the process of putting a gearbox back onto my car, before the gearbox is installed, is there anything that needs to be put on first, above the box, i seem to recall something but its been so long that my tablets wont let me remember. I've got a heatshield that goes further down over the drive shaft, so thats one, but i thought there was 2...Also, if you know of any gotchas, things that i remember to do only after i have put it all back, i would appreciate your input, and pictures dont forget... Cheers Rich
  9. Thanks guys, couldn't ask for any more, i'm really touched..., but!! i found them..i think, i dont think they are metric somehow , and Ian, you're right, they are short and have a deep relief at the head, so i'm okay for now. With the plate bolted onto the TQ, i'm not sure how it all fits together with the SM to see if the larger dia is a problem. Where the gears get close at 8 oclock, i can file away the ally to clear it. if any one has some diagrams/pics of the SM location, i's appreciate it. Pics attached Cheers Rich
  10. Hi, does anyone know what size the 4 bolts that secure the trans plate/geared wheel plate etc.. to the torque converter are please? Cheers Thanks Rich

Rich ps if you are to embarrassed to admit your knowledge you can pm me in full confidence.

  14. HI Guys, if ant of you IT guys can help i'd appreciate it. I upgraded my PC from a 8yr old Dell workstation to a newer Dell Optiplex 745, 2gz with 3 gb ram. Now i have attached a USB drive where i store my films, when this was attached to the old PC i shared the drive and could watch film on another PC via wireless to the hub then via cable to the host PC. However no this host PC has changed, when i try to watch anything there is awful buffering delays which i never had on the previous PC. Oh, this new pc even has a 1gb connection to the hub.. Can anyone help decipher what is happening. Rich

Hi, i've got the boards from the 2 pod units off the dash, dis assembled, and it looks like its had the diode mod applied (i think) it has resistors added. my one question is can i add voltage to the board to "light" it up, 12v, 5v...if so where do i put it..
