1. Marty, you can borrow mine for a while and have a go, see if its okay, might save you splashing out some dosh twice.. Rich
2. Ken, are you sure thats your motto.... (i know what you really mean, Buy cheap and you will buy twice!) Fact is i've been using one of those "crap" compressors and i've had good results out of it, it gives me what i need at the business end for my HVLP guns, (7-9CFM and 10-25 psi,) As someone has said, preparation is the key, roughly 75% prep, 25% painting. Rich
3. Cheers Steve, Thanks Tony.. had a look at your car, very nice, luv the colour.. Rich
4. Guys I'm after a replacement dial kit. It needs to be White during the day, and blue/green when the lights are turned on. These are usually Plasma kits and Visual performance do a selection. However, the detail on them is to much, you know..less is more.. i used to have them on my MR2 but the company that did them http://www.speedhut.com dont do 300zx ones. If you look at the site you'll see what i mean about white/blue etc. you can even design them online.. Lockwood do plasma dial kits, but not 300zx ones. so does anyone know of a supplier of dials that might do the trick.. Rich
5. Point is, Understand what you need, buying an expensive compressor may not give you what you require in pressure/displacement.
6. Well apart from the 3 i just found.....
7. It may be considered crap, but you show me a 24L compressor that puts out 9.5CFM, whatever the price. Rich
8. Next door neighbour but one has this zed gathering dust, he swears he's going to renovate it...one day Rich
9. Marty. give me a call and come round and see my HVLP set up. Rich
10. Stu!! i Remember that day, That was my Mum you haggled out of a grand!!! :whistling:
11. mate, another thing we have in common..my car and your taste in music, Great selection iain. you might start giving some thought to the option 2 to fix my autobox.... Rich
12. Kit, here's my Merc 320 "] "] I think you'll be impressed with it. Rich
13. Hi all, Replaced the speed sensor with the new one i got, took for test drive, fixed? no...still stays wont change up from 2nd gear. and can only use 1st from the selector, if anyone has any thoughts on this matter, please let me know.. Thanks Rich
14. Well i cant do anything at the moment, i went down ill on monday....wont be till weekend before i get under her again. How's the engine transplant going.? Rich
15. Sorry Jeff, i meant Axle stands, "jacks" was a Freudian slip, meaning on the road rather than up on a lift If you think i'm getting under it on car jacks/hydraulics, forget it. Rich
16. Hi all Trying to replace the speed sensor , main bdy is no problem but the connector, well... is it possible to remove and replace with the car on jacks. Cheers Rich
17. If there is one thing i have learnt, is that this forum is a wealth of useful information, SSG i've never been offered anything like that at the hospital of physio dept, i'll check out Boots. Hellraiser. Seeing the Doctor on monday about heart attacks so i'll ask him then. LeoE i have a feeling superfeet inserts are to flexible and when treading on a stone would still transmit the feeling. i'll check things out though. Thanks all, i'll let you know.
18. Iain, waiting for speed sensor before i can make any decision. hopefully next week. if you junked the blue lights, can i have them back, i did like them...(Forgot to remove before you came down...) Rich
19. Hi Guys, As above, what i'm after is an insert to my left shoe/trainer/slipper whatever i wear. Due to already documented damage to sciatic nerve, my heel and sole area and especially inbetween, is VERY susceptible to pain if i tread on a pebble/stone even a pea (i must be a price (cess??) ) so i'm thinking, instead of wearing 6 pairs of socks, cushion soles and that insole that stops smells... if i had a flat rigid insert..size 9 left, it could prevent my problem. I have no access to machine tools/guillotines/material so i need the help of someone who does. suggestions on material etc will be gratefully rec'd. Material costs i can cover, Alcohol for the labour. So any one out there willing to help a disabled member (i do actually have a blue badge and regularly park the zed in the disabled bays at tesco...) Many thanks, Rich
20. You dont want to know......
21. Well done iain, didnt know the rear was dodgy.. Those lights at the bottom, the blue coated ones.. they never worked and there is a mass of wire under the bonnet rh side that i think relate to it. Thinking back there is a switch behind the dash which i was told operated the lights but i never had any luck sorting it. You should have brought the car back to my guy for a ticket..he loves it.. rich
22. OMFG, i totally missed that post...DOH, Well done Vodka for spotting it, Well done Berrica for pointing it out Double DOH for me...
23. Seem to have sorted this one, spent 15 mins trying to "zoom" into the noise, could I ? could i heck, bl00dy thing kept moving around. Went to the back, sounded like coming from the front went pass side, same thing, sounds like coming from the drivers side. And then, like right out of a movie sketch, i.m sitting in the drivers seat, racking my brains, when i start to look up, right up to the overhead light switches, and there it was, coming right out of the lights. Of course it doesn't help only having 1 good ear, makes my sense of direction pretty sh1te. Next step is to find out what the noise is! Rich
24. Good one bolt, i'll try that. Rich
