  1. no no noise whatsoever with it in neutral, or just clutch down, even in the air with the wheels spinning theres no noise, its only under load, and engine braking.
  2. unfortunately its not the a/c, its not on, and theres not belt on my ac unit, i've AMS pulleys and forgot to buy the correct size ac belt. was only thinking if the prop bearing was on the way out, under load its under most stress, and under engine braking (over run) its also under extra stress. im thinking if the cars free rolling with the clutch down the props not under a lot of stress so noise would stop, please someone correct me if i've got this wrong, its just a thought.
  3. i daren't ask the guys at work as i'll get no end of stick if i got another broken zed. but i've noticed a strange noise on my Na, its always there from cold, and still there after long journeys. under load i get a strange rattle, i since serviced the zed, (done everything) its running lovely, nice and smooth, and quick. but still making the noise, its quite a raspy noise, (been there before and after i changed the entire exhaust system.) it also makes a different noise on over-run, which is much quieter but is more like a metallic vibration, dip the clutch and it goes away, any ideas? i was thinking heat shield rattle or prop, does this sound possible? im taking it apart tomorrow to fit the headers, which is the last part of the zed with heat shields on, when it was serviced last weekend, i properly flushed the oil system, and fitted with good oil and extra additives, thanks for the help again guys...:thumbup1:
  4. only started work on it at the beginning of january but i've spent 2K on my NA already, although a large bit of that was welding, and the rest was tyres and a nice concept Z order, think im going to spend at least another 2K if i can afford it this year. got the power train and suspension to do yet. possibly more if i get the bodywork done. depends the guys at work are still trying to convince me to get a skyline. just scared myself looking at a pile of receipts from my old Zed. lol
  5. its got full history with us, he was the only uk owner, with every thing done by us, cambelt brakes etc, std apart from the rear fogs in the bumper which are a dock fit, never resprayed, fully undersealled by our bodyshop. acording to the chasis number it was built in jan '93, wish id got pictures of it, but i forgot to ask him if he'd mind so i did't take them, ill get him to list it on here if he sells it.
  6. a customer came last week with a really tidy zed, he used to work for our company and has asked if i know what its worth, so can i get some opinions from you guys its a pearl white, LWB, JDM, AUTO, with 40,000km on the clock, (its been garage for 10 years) no rust, body is nearly imaculate, came in for a MOT for the first time in years passed first time, i've no picture unfortunatly, but any one have a rough guide price for it?
  7. was it anyone on here, dont see many zeds round my way so was a bit of a shock, unfortunatly i was on a push bike not my zed as its still in bits lol
  8. just heard back from them, waiting on nismo to deliver the adjustable fuel regulator. so guess i was jumping the gun a bit, apologies to them, they are now chasing it form me. :thumbup1:
  9. did say above lol z1 took ages to ship, had to chase and chase before they finally told me there was a supply issue, took a month to recive my bits. great stuff once it arrived just poor comunication. and with conceptZ the guy i spoke to didn't seem to know what he was talking about, was repeating myself over and over. and then he said he thought it was all in stock and he'd let me know if it wasn't nad he'd let me know when it was sent, had nothing. im probably setting my standards a bit high, as i work in a nissan parts and if i ran my parts dept like that id be fired lol. great prices and stuff if the comunication was better id have no problem with either, if its not in stock its not the end of the world id just like to know...
  10. thanks but i'll phone them tonight, see if i can get an up date
  11. TBH thats why i went to them because you all said they were great, but the guy i spoke to when i placed the order didn't seem to know what he was doing or anything about zeds...lol, and i've had no comunication from them, they said they'd et me know if somthing was out of stock, and when it was sent.
  12. i decided to order from them after Z1 messed about with my last order, and they don't seem to be much better, bit disappointed really,
  13. i had the control unit in the centre console so the hose went from the engine through the firewall and into the car, once i moved it to the engine bay and then just ran wires into display in the car it was fine. so went from about a metre to 20cm if that. and then i had stable boost. i know you've check it, but the hose i meant is the tiny black hose (or was when it was on mine) on the control box, it gives the display its reading had come loose before. (inside the unit - couple of screws to get case off and refit it) when it was fitted or more likely when i removed it it could have come loose again. but like i said it was working when i removed it, but i'll obviously refund it and get it sent off for repairs if you do find a problem. sorry your having problems with it.
  14. don't do it, driven our 370's a few times, just get bored of them, me and the sales manager at our place took my old TT and a 370 out for a proper run and the 300 (even my temperamental one) always made the 370 look silly. if you really want a 370 wait till they are older and get one once they've dropped in price, as the 300zx wont depreciate. :thumbup1:
  15. is the controller set in manual? as the auto mode doesn't work well on twin turbos. and check its not in scramble mode either. when i first fitted it to mine i had the oposite problem couldn't get the boost low and stable. as i wanted mine at 11psi, (due to its frequent problems) found i had a load of air leaks, might be worth checking the feed pipe on the contorl unit as it had come loose on mine. also found i had too much pipe between the source and the controller was giving false readings after that it was all sorted. was fitted to mine and marks car before yours, but if you do find a problem with it give me a pm.
  16. think i'll be sending it your way, pm replied, i recognise that intercooler and nose lol. glad they found a new home.
  17. i think your right they look like modded stock lights, might do a even rarer set out of 99 spec rear lights... :glare:
  18. if you want to try, let me know how much it could be left with you as long as you need. (its a 16 bit though)
  19. wow, even with bigger turbos my TT didn't get power like that, what do you think you could do with an NA? lol
  20. don't think so as the letters are printed onto them, no real light coming through... that thought had already gone through my mind lol.
  21. o.k. they are non illuminated ones, but i still had to have them .... i've only seen the illuminated ones before, so thought id be different. just got to work out how to fir them now.
  22. thanks, thought it may have had something, im 90% sure its the harness as like most of this car its corroded. will get it on the consult tomorrow and see what its doing. might have to be a 1m resistor till i do the clutch then im hoping i can get to the sensor enough? can you get to the knock sensor with the gearbox off?
  23. might be a stupid question, but they are not listed in any of our manuals at work. i know the TT have a safe boost get home mode, but do NA's have anything similar? when i was out in my zed noticed i have a damaged knock sensor harness, and the ecu is reading an error. when my TT did this it limped, but will it be affecting the NA?
  24. think i just renewed my subscription, but it froze up at the end, so can one of the mods let me know either way?
  25. thought i heard something the other day but wrote it off as half asleep, but i was parking my zed up tonight and i noticed when i put it in reverse and put the clutch down, i heard a really strange almost grinding noise, was quite loud. i took it out of gear and lifted the clutch and it stopped, and didn't do it again when i tried again...? im not very good with gearboxes, but am i right in thinking its most likely clutch related? as i had it dipped when it made the noise? anyone got any suggestions? eventually im going to change to a light flywheel and clutch but not got the funds at the moment.
