  1. Good for you mate...enjoy... :hyper:
  2. con & use regs, dull as you like but ispeedo has to be in both, doubt you would have it checked though, Dont get confused between theese and the MOT, take tinted glass, Construction & use regs apply but is not tested on the MOT..(yet...???) hope this clears it up. http://www.legislation.hmso.gov.uk/cgi-bin/htm_hl.pl?DB=hmso-new&STEMMER=en&WORDS=speedomet+&COLOUR=Red&STYLE=s&URL=http://www.hmso.gov.uk/sr/sr1999/19990454.htm#muscat_highlighter_first_match speedometers 40. - (1) Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3), a motor vehicle shall be fitted with a speedometer which, if the vehicle is first used on or after 1st April 1984, shall be capable of indicating speed in both miles per hour and kilometres per hour, either simultaneously or, by the operation of a switch, separately.
  3. Not part of MOT but has to be in KPH AND MPH so both must be on the speedo face, not a problem if u already have one but it wont be anywhere near accurate.. Question....if you convert it to KPH will the trip/odometer read higher too ie..every 60 miles will begin to show as 100..?
  4. I wouldnt want to be in the the 0.1%... would you? Where do you get your statistics from anyway? http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/campaigns/drinkdrive/drinkdrive01.htm a bit more than 0.1%
  5. spiggot bearing is the one in the centre of the flywheel where the primary shaft of the g box goes.. http://www.theimpclub.co.uk/articles/spigot_bush.html doubt this would cause your prob though..
  6. oops done a poll on this, first one I did so ferked it up!!! this thread is closed!!! sorry!
  7. What speed over the limit is acceptable? Say its a 30 limit, no one about, the road is well lit, no schooll, no shops, just houses, no parked cars and the road is straight...... oh, and you live along it...
  8. Keep reading threads about this and wondered what speed over the limit is acceptable? Say its a 30 limit, no one about, the road is well lit, no schooll, no shops, just houses, no parked cars and the road is straight...... oh, and you live along it...
  9. Its not your turbo you can hear spinning is it, this sounds a little like this ...
  10. At least the 2CV is in there with the ferrari's and the 350. oh, and a few renaults too!! What a load of sh1t..
  11. So the speedo should read 19.14mph...right?
  12. My mum knitted the interior and the RPM is no reflection of the fact that there is no one in the driving seat...
  13. problem with an absolute ban is that it would not make any difference other than catching out the morning after types!! Thing is, if u r going to have a drink and then drive home it wont matter what the limit is...they will still get too pissed to drive... :xxx: that they are.. so if the limit is 35/100 or 0/100 they will still be on it. The odds of being stopped are limited and the figures of drink drivers is increasing (over the last few years at least) so...there is less social pressure on people NOT to DD. I drink...wife drives...
  14. Nah...10^0=1 10 ^-1=0.1 10^2=0.02, etc,,, Thanks for the help by the way,,,making sense now...at lllllllllast!!!!
  15. you are toooo right mate.......but..... its the -1 (power of) thats killing me....cant see the logic (but algebra aint about that)....but you 2 are convincing me... OK, will have a go based on your answers and then do another if you want.....haha...back to school...? (but harder????)
  16. The bit that kills me is the ms^-1.......... Anyone who can explain that is a god as my brain has been fried today (hence not at southend meet) so we do the MPH thing and MS^-1 (0.447) rears its head...to the power of -1???? WHAT... IAM GOING TO FAIL!!!!!!!
  17. Ferk...u 2 are good....but both have different aswers Who is right as both make sense.... When we get to the bottom of this I will post another....
  18. Got an exam in a month, try this one out as a sample (got a few other beautys as samples) A car travels at a constant speed for 1/4 of a kilometer in 29.2 seconds. During this time the speedometer registers 22MPH. Is this true speed and if not what is the percentage difference? Answers to 2 significant figures. Now, I am not all that bad at maths (well, am sh1te really) and cannot work this fuc I have been given a clue that MPH to ms^-1 = x 0.447m WTF!!!!!!!
  19. You were in the wrong place mate, that doesnt look like the 'Dick Turpin'.....
  20. here you go mate, read till u fall asleep. http://www.dti.gov.uk/ccp/topics1/saleandsupply.htm Basically the sale of goods act applies to traders and not private individuals so u would have to take civil action to reclaim your cash.
  21. I like the 'quick steer' knob on the steering wheel...or is that the seller????
  22. Ah...the old speed debate again... :nono: same old, same old...
  23. I bought a serial card off e bay..30 quid, as cheap as a cable which I couldnt get working. Depends what software you are running too as some of em like to 'grab' all the ports (Nokia software for 1).
  24. Here u go, A lap of the ring in a porker. Takes a while 2 download but worth a look I think. http://www.lad.lv/~martini/porsche/Videos/RUF-CTR_Nurburgring2.wmv
