  1. Like the idea! Paintballing's great! Count me in... Best to play against another club, but I'd come either way.
  2. Sorry guys- none of the above, it's got to be DangerMouse's flying car! http://www.dangermouse.org/images/dm+penfold/dmcar.gif
  3. Or spray the nose panel and headlight inserts silver to match your mesh! :D
  4. Thoughts are with you and your family bud.
  5. Personally it's not my thing, so I've said no. But it's your car mate! If you like it, go for it. Just coz I wouldn't do it to my own car doesn't mean I wouldn't appreciate it if it was done well on someone elses! :)
  6. On one hand, congrats! :nana2: On the other hand, you lucky sod! I'm still waiting for my first sighting! :( Yep think it was between J4 and 5. It was a one-off journey, Farnborough to Stevenage; I'll probably have to to it every couple of months. The b@stard filth had set up a speed trap in Stevenage down the A1072, fortunately it was only a hand-held radar job so it was all pretty obvious. :) Glad you're off the duck now! :D Mark
  7. Vented nose panel, nice big rear spoiler, blacked out rear lights. Darker than a dark thing at night, hiding behind a bush! Yet somehow shiny. :D You wouldn't have noticed me- I was in a bland blue Focus heading north. Gutless, boring piece of hire-car crap it was too... :slap: Mark [Edit: BlackMagic- just seen your avatar matey, I reckon 'twas u]
  8. Also check the bushes- the rack bushes went on mine and the main thing I noticed was pulling to the left, but it was also very vague when trying to steer straight. Mark
  9. Both belts are saggy at best. If you don't let them asthmaticly wheeze their way as tight as they're going to get before setting off, they lock in that position so you have to wait till you're at traffic lights until they carry on! Had a few worried passengers in the past; I just say they're impatient :D Going to be taking off the door cards for audio reasons soon, so might have a poke around.
  10. Managed to miss this so far, but I'll try to be there! 80% likely... :) Mark
  11. I think he's just saying that regardless of what power is *quoted*, the torque figure is the same. Kind of implying that the claimed power was just to keep the cars within import / export rules, regardless of what they actually put out. Anyway, how many people have put a stock car on a dyno? It'd be interesting to see... Mark
  12. Heading East, about 5pm ish. I was heading west so didn't get a good look! Think you had nose panel with 4 vents, but that was the only feature I noticed! Mark
  13. Just wondering really! I've had an intermittent rough running problem for ages, but more recently I've noticed that the longer I run the car for before setting off, the less likely I am to have a problem. Usually now I leave it for about 90s before driving off, which is hardly warm I know, but seems to help; however my drive to work is only 15 mins through a town, and quite often when I pull up and dip the clutch at the end of my journey the engine revs up to 1500rpm. Only if I wait for about 15s does it then drop down to 600ish. Again, if I warm the car up for longer, the less it tends to happen. Wondering if anyone else has had anything similar? Mark
  14. Congratulations! The DVLA just got in touch with me saying that my recent MOT has highlighted something that's incorrect on my V5, which I need to return. They then sent out a new V5 anyway. This wonderful new computerised system could cause a few headaches for us yet... :headvswal Mark
  15. Well, I guess it may be in the region of 10 minutes per car, but I had to think back to work it out! TBH I lost track of time, and enjoyed it so much anyway that it didn't bother me. It took a good 2.5 hours from start to finish, and the standing-around time goes quickly while you're watching other people clamber in and out of the cars. I guess if you're into track days and do them regularly then you'll probably be disappointed, but it's the first one I've done, and I'm unlikely to drive a Lambo under any other circumstances, let alone drive one fast :D And apart from anything else, these kind of things are always expensive anyway, and for me reserved for special occasions. So on balance, I still think it was well worth it! Just hope the girlfriend stumps up the money for the credit card bill now... Mark
  16. ... on a Lambo! :D Did the Lambo experience at Thruxton today!!! :nana2: Still buzzing. Drove a Rover/MG to warm up, then Merc 350 SLK, Lambo Murceilago and formula Renault. Lambo was awesome! But I don't think I made the most of its abilities. Merc was probably the most chuckable given the limited practice! Single seaters were the most raw experience. Funniest bit was trying to wave a "thank-you" to people who moved out the way- stick your hand into the airstream and it just smacks into the seat bulkhead! Then we were given a mad lap, in the Rover (RIP), by a nutter. Never thought a Rover could handle so well! So all in all, a great experience. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone as a special present or sumfing. Mark
  17. Exactly a year! Wow, our first anniversary! Better get a present. Maybe a tank of 99 Ron! :D
  18. Well the good little Zed didn't miss a beat down to Devon and back :nana2: It was just a gentle cruise, but it's always good when everything goes to plan! The morning after the wedding I snapped this pic of where I'd left my car the night before... Aw isn't that nice?! Mark
  19. It was close between the A Team and Knightrider. But you can't beat that bit in each episode where our favourite renegade vigelantes are locked in a barn/warehouse/shed/shoebox full of indutrial welding gear and donar parts allowing them to create some rocket launcher/bulldozer/tank/APC to escape of kick the baddies in the ass :D Other ones I can think of are Blue Thunder and McGyver. Not that I'd have voted for them!
  20. I like it. Not that I'd have it in my daily ride tho! Works well as a show (off!) car. Mark
  21. Still can't believe it Jay! Anything I can do mate- give me a ring. Mark
  22. :nana2: PASSED!!! :nana2:  ... after I'd replaced the steering rack bushes and windscreen wiper. I feel like a proud dad having just watched his son win the egg-and-spoon race! :D Mark
  23. Spam! (Just deleted my original post as it was irrelevant to the last one. Must remember to go the last page before posting...)
  24. I don't think anyone else has said it yet but boost jets will give you a more appreciable boost rise, and I'd have thought have way less power drain. And easier to install... (disclaimer! I haven't fitted them to mine yet...) Mark PS Turb0z... LOL!
