problem fitting rear belts!...
Hi my reels look the same, but I've been fitting one to the left side of the car, so the locking mechanism is facing down, rather than up. Cheerz, Jez

problem fitting rear belts!...
Hi, The rear reels fit into the wing at an angle, but I only have a large bolt for the lower fixing...looks like there should be a screw or clip to hold the top of the reel too....perhaps this is my problem? Cheerz, Jez

problem fitting rear belts!...
Hi, Decided to fit the Uk spec rear belts to the back of my ZX today. Everything was fine until I came to bolt the first belt in. The belt's mechanism keeps locking and I can't figure out how to stop the belt retracting and locking in place permanently! I took the yellow lever mechanism off the side of the reel, to have a look at that and the belt runs free... but nothing seems to stop it locking...as soon as I reattach it? Any ideas...??? vibration
Hi, What make of tyres do you have fitted, as some of the budget brands have quite a hard compound which can cause vibration until they've warmed up a bit. The tyres on my 300ZX suffer from this as they appear to become slightly flat spotted when the car's parked up for a week...it takes a mile or two for the vibration to disappear. My car has supposedly had the propshaft reconditioned, so it might be the tyres? Cheerz, Jez

Is it possible to Remove a Back Spoiler from a 300ZX TT???
Hi, The rear spoiler was an option on the NA model and most Jap spec cars seem to have them, although in the US many don't...My NA has the spoiler, but I wish it didn't! Cheerz, Jez

UK 300ZX TT Road Test....
Hi, That same 300ZX, G189 TCD was also tested in July 1990 by Fast Lane magazine. They weren't so complimentary as Autocar and said that the synchromesh on 5th gear was on it's way out, by the time they got hold of the test car. Fast Lane did always have a bias towards German cars, particularly Porsches though, and they kept comparing it to the 928! Would be nice to know if that car is still around? Cheerz, Jez

We are going
Hi, What's the law in Australia regarding the import of cars?.. as the 300ZX was originally only imported new there as an NA? At least if you've still got a kph speedo it will be fine over there! ;) Cheerz, Jez

3 point seatbelt height adj for kids
Hi, I saw on Top Gear last night that they reckon the law regarding booster seats is unenforceable as the Police admit that they don't have the authority to measure your child's height! ;) Cheerz, Jez

rear seatbelt 3 point conversion
Hi, The other option is to do what I've just done and buy the rear belts and UK spec rear arch trims as well..they already have the cutouts in place.Might have to do some re-upholstery work too though! Cheerz, Jez

Did nissan get it wrong?
Hi, The Z32 was at the top of it's game back in 1989...Toyota had to delay the launch of their new Supra, to play catch up! It's just that over the following 10 years Nissan lost interest in the super coupe market and didn't develop the car as it could have been. Modern day cars have now caught up and the performance of everyday cars is superior to those back in the '80's and our zeds are now no spring chickens! Cheerz, Jez.

Hi, The Z Club can out do you on that score as...."Most users ever online was 781, 03-11-2006 at 12:49 PM." Don't know how this was achieved on the Z Club site, as there's only ever about 5 users online!:D

running 16"
Hi, My NA 300ZX has the stock wheels and drives and handles very well, with nice flat cornering and a smooth ride.Apparently it has been lowered though, so this may be contributing to the overall feel. Trouble is, the front spoiler is a bit low and won't clear the average kerbstone! I think the car may have had larger diameter wheels on it before it was imported and therefore I could easily fit larger ones now.Don't want to upset the smooth ride though!

running 16"
Hi, As stated above, 16 inch wheels were state of the art in the late '80's! To quote from the Autocar road test in 1990....... "Tyres are Michelin MXX's of suitably gargantuan dimensions:245/45 ZR 16 at the back and 225/50 ZR 16s up front and these, combined with the four-wheel steer, mean dry road grip easily matches its supercar performance." The Lamborghini Countach of the same year, was only running on 15 inch wheels!...Although they were quite wide! Cheerz, Jez
