Whats this Readers Wives Special! Bit flat , More than a handfull's a waste:D
  2. Sorry Speedfreak, did not mean to imply you were those things , just that arguments of such a nature waste so much energy and are frustrating esp when - as you say it steams you up so much you react rather than respond. Most of the club folks I know are fine , but even I lose my rag at idiots who cannot accept someone might have a different viewpoint or deliberatly miss the point. I Have worked in the motor trade since I left school so Ive come accross every facet of humankind from slugs to sublime, I thought the various responses to the SXOC post were quite amusing and the moderated end result that bore no resemblence to the original was scarily stalinesque. Still there will always be a next time. Hohohohoho
  3. Not suprised the post was edited either. Methinks they should install a Fight Club of thier own.
  4. Strangely enough some of us get on really well with the SXOC , and since I am a paid up member of both clubs,I have to say I find both have there merits and drawbacks as well as harbouring both functional (decent folk)and those with disfunctional personalities(twats) , which is why I'm suprised you get so much pleasure in rocking the boat, I would have thought fostering good relations is more productive for both cubs, esp since the cars we own and enjoy are from the same design stable and I am sure just as appreciated. Good luck with the sale and the skyline dude.
  5. Sorry -just havent been online recently and not checked/remebered it was due.
  6. They had the bloomin TV on at work with it tuned in to the cheat and his bint getting hitched. The only thing that was amis was an Uzi hidden in a camera. And to think we paid Thier bloomin bill too! Bunch of freeloading skiving inbred wastes of space. BRING ON THE REPUBLIC I SAY.
  7. Can't see anything wrong with that, if the guy likes his car that way - who are we to criticise. :nana2:
  8. Theres more to this than meets the eye! its been garaged for 3 years, also has a bit of rust , but all the panels are there to fix her up, once I get her home and cleaned up a bit Ill post some piccies. Mrs said she got upset with the amount of time I spend with my 300, but I think shes just given me another reason to not be in the house on weekends-LOL. Darn now I will have to get that wrecked 200sx of the driveway. Wheres the scrappy's number heheheheheheehehh. makeway, classic jap restoration about to begin!!!!
  9. Its my 10th wedding anniversary today , and the Mrs gave me a card, I opened it and inside was the reg doc for a 1982 Datsun 280zx Targatop. I know its the tin anniversary but I never expected that . Its gold ( maybe a gold brick ) and needs a bit of TLC but...............Woohoooooo!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
  10. Thanks for replying guys, the alarm is a Serpistar, the immobiliser made by Hamilton and Palmer, Immobiliser has been removed temporarily, and a hidden switch installed, but do you know of a reliable installer who can remove and renew the alarm system and what would you recomend as a good reliable system. must have keyless entry, battery back up etc. possibly with built in immobiliser. I have a immobiliser coming down to me during the week to replace the one I took out, but it would be preferable to only have the one system. Ideas??
  11. Took a trip to Brighton yesterday to give my kids a day out- left the Z behind, and having locked it up and alarmed her, of we went. On my return find I'm cursed, cant find the keys to the z anywhere, presumably down some drain in Brighton, problem is I now need a lock set, a new immobiliser and alarm in pretty short order as the Z is my daily driver. I have only one key that fits the ign and drivers door, and can't find the key that de-activates the alarm. The immobiliser only had one doodab as thats how it was when I bought it. Any suggestions anyone know anyone who might be able to help with this little lot. TA in advance.
  12. Black H reg fairlady with high rear spoiler on Croydon Road, I was right behind you for a while. :nana2:
  13. Ryan did a consult on it last friday, with special attention to the TPS, reported back clean and green, voltage spot on and functionality between TPS/ box/ecu working as it should. I had thought of tha manual conversion, but whats the cost and who would do it?
  14. First I have had a consult check done that is revealing no faults from the box TPS etc, the problem is that the box sometimes has a mind of its own, mostly at higher RPM about 70-80 mph. Cruising along it will be at 2500 rpm then it will jump to 4000 rpm as if the overdrive is engaged, then after a while it will change back again, sometimes it will be up and down like a yoyo, then ok for a bit. Ive tried slowing to 50 ish and then booting it doesent seem to help, tried flicking the overdrive in and out ( at the higher Rpm it makes no odds) Some people have suggested a solenoid fault , some an electrical short, some an internal box fault , some a torque converter malfunction. Any one got any thoughts before I resort to major surgery.
  15. The M4 cameras maybe for traffic information, but that did not stop the ones on the M25 having thier footage being used for prosecuting motorists, you only have to see Police Camera Action to see where it eventually ends up. Still its good to know, and I stand corrected. But what makes my blood boil is that the Govnmt seem intent on forcing everyone but the very rich off the road yet dont provide any kind of adequate cost effective public transport system to get us from a-b. To use my gas guzzling Z costs me about 30p per mile , public transport would cost me between £5 and £12 per day depending which branch I worked at , car still wins hands down, & I dont have to sit on an uncomfortable seat jammed packed like a sardine, I can listen to my own taste in audio, keep warm and dry and fart when I like :wack: . Ken Livingstone has a long way to go to win me over.
  16. Mines as clean as a whistle mate, with two nice shiney 4" pipes poking out her rear and a private plate 684*** :nana2:
  17. Hmm, well the new traffic signs on the M4 have a camera on every one - about one every 1/2 mile , now the possibility is you could get about 1-20 odd speeding fines in as many miles, I drove most of the way back at a stately 70 mph- on the inside lane, and virtually every car in the centre and outside lane was doing 80 -100 mph - apart from a bloke in a black convertible BM who I estimate to have been doing in excess of 130 and using all lanes and hard shoulder to get ahead. If you do 70mph in the centre lane people pass you on the inside at 80, and on the outside at 90, strangely enough the inside lane was almost empty, where as the outer 2 lanes were bumper to bumper. wierd mentality that, as if peeps used vacant lanes to drive in there would be less congestion. same applies to speed limits IMHO. Personally I would suggest that motorway speed limits should be raised to 80mph and then strictly enforced. I do feel that an abundance of Speed Enforcement Cameras on non-accident hot spots is a revenue builder and nothing else. Interesting isn't it that on a recent programme where a road was sited for its large amount of accidents caused by - 1) poor road maintainance, 2) inadequate warning signs 3)lack of improvement to the areas which had concerns, the answer from the Govt was " we are prepared to install safety cameras in the effected areas" Do What? speed was not the issue, but rather road widening and lighting with decent signs to warn of sharp corners etc its like talking to a bunch of morons with cloth ears. If the money raised by the SCAMera partnerships was put into road maintainance rather than into 'private' pockets people would probably be more sympathetic. Latest statistics show a huge rise in revenue but with little or no impact on RTA's, in fact in one area the intoduction of a Camera caused a rise in accidents as some cars were over braking at the camera site and people were having rear enders. Money would be better spent in driver training and awareness than on Cameras. If you compared Croydon with Bromley for instance - you would see a more effective and less taxing method of traffic control, Croydon have a vast amount of cameras- same number of accidents year on year and a bit of revenue to show for it, that and a vast number of speed bumps being installed all over the place to boot. Bromley however have a few well sited and effective cameras, but they have a passive system, solar powered speed indicators that flash up your speed as you approach informing you if you are speeding, which works better than a camera in slowing people - because it is emminently visible and much more friendly to the motorist- It works. Bromley has a far better RTA record and the numbers are improving year on year, which I think proves a point. And just to finish off the regulation height for speed bumps is 100mm, if the exceed this they are illegal and the council will have to have them removed if you complain with proof of this. Several people have been successful taking the council to task and seen humps recently installed ripped out. Anyway Ill get orf me soap box now. :nana2: :hyper: ;)
  18. I was on the M25 yesterday around 5pm - on my way back from ztech, would have been heading south towards the Caterham turnoff. :nana2:
  19. Took my car over to Ryan at ztech to get the cambelt done today, and I must say the service was excellent, dropped the car off in the morning and he took me down to Swindon town centre , where I amused myself with some shopping and a nice lunch in a cafe, before a call in the afternoon to say the car was ready , I was then collected and whisked back to the workshop where I collected my beasty all ready for the long drive home. All the old parts were ready for me to see, and he had done a consult for me FOC, "just like it said on the tin" Thanks for a job well done . It also pointed me in the right direction as far as my auto box strangeness goes.( Il have to save up for that one methinks, yes the box did act up on the homeward trip  but thats a job for another day which no doubt will come your way Ryan :) ) Very pleased indeed and highly recommended.   :duffer:

Our thoughts are with you , just said goodbye to a dear friend of ours today who passed into glory. accept our condolences and prayers. Ken & Ruth.
  24. Not me thank goodness, but a chap where I work has a brand new Ford Focus he had his windows tinted with what he was told was legal tint- he got pulled by the plod who took the light reading from the edge of the drivers window where the tint is darkest, and nicked him, he now also has a court appearance this afternoon for driving a vehicle unfit for the road. quid pro quo I suppose in the eyes of the law. He is a bit of a Chav, but it seems the consequences of front side window tints are rather more severe than one first thought. Be warned .Croydon Plod are getting crappy not even giving him a chance to get the film removed. He also noted that the bloke in the Range Rover that was parked up behind him did not get a second look, despite having darkest limo tint all over it. Discrimination-surely not!
