  2. Im suprised at the quote, seems excessive , esp since you are providing the glass. however most garages have local fitters they use, may be worth a ring around to see. :)
  3. Ill have a look at work may find you a number, but im croydon based, so may be to far.

Many thanks to the Z club for letting us combine- nice bunch of people- but where were the rest of you?? Bit of a poor show in that respect, do we have any members in this club , or is it just the seven or eight (z32) who bothered to turn up on the sat and sunday- esp since there was a small ad for the club on the third page of the show brochure. Well I had to leave just after midday on sunday, to get my kids home, Top marks to those who turned up despite the weather, Today was brilliant - sunshine and show and shine. Lets do better next year .
  5. Jus thought I d share this as my old zed had very noisey wipers , thought it was the wiper blades on the screen , but when I lifted them up the noise was there from the n/side pivot, which was groaning like hell. i removed the long scuttle panel after removing the wiper arms, then popped the linkage off from the motor to the centre pivot then undid the six retaining screws holding both the left and right pivots in place - then with the link rod between the two pivots still attached , slid /wiggled the whole assy out via the gap below where the drivers side pivot sits. Having inspected the left hand pivot I found it was rusted and siezed , so sprayed loads of wd40 over it and prized out the snap ring that holds the pivot assy together off, and then twisted the pivot mount untill it came off the pivot shaft, a good clean up with a fine file and some sand paper got rid of the rust and then a good coating of silicone grease on the shaft did the trick , fully reassembled and back on the car - good as new! cheaper than buying a new linkage assy. :D
  6. gonna try to get up sat and sun

  19. Thing is as performance cars go (of a certain age) the zed is probably one of the most reliable. And the thing is when you buy one you need to have both eyes open, its not a cheap runabout and never was, its a pedigree sportscar and the costs that go with it are always on the high side. But there is no accounting for some things, rising costs of fuel and insurance, etc. But the bottom line is they are expensive to run and maintain. Just as well this club and other like it are around to help reduce the pain and provide a little light at the end of the tunnel. But if you are lucky enough to be able to have one and drive it its a fantastic car, well proportioned , loads of power , good handling, and a design icon.
  20. Sad.................................................but know tha feelin'
  21. Beaulieu is a good idea, if there will be a load of zeds going , perhaps giving them an advanced warning of a large contingent would be good, maybe it could be a regular once a year or so. It cant be that often that a lot of one model /make clubs do an outing on mass down there.
  22. Shame - But I was attending a rose planting in memory of my late wife, Sunday was 6 months to the day , and I'm afraid I wasn't up for much of a party anyhoo. Sign me up for the next one tho. :duffer:
  23. 2005 started well enough, then rapidly deteriorated, lost my wife in a car crash in June , my step daughters husband was killed in a bike accident 6 weeks ago. However both the 300zx and the SXOC were amazing and very supportive, from thier combined gift I was able to put £250 each into my childrens savings accounts, £1000 went towards funeral costs , and the rest went to my step daughter to help with her baby daughter who was born a couple of weeks ago. I have been staying with my parents since my wife passed away, whilst I clear out and rennovate my house. The zed is mothballed for a bit, and I used some of the insurance money to buy a Nissan Almera 1.4, to use as a runabout and to take the kids to school. I still managed to make it to the JAE with my daughter , which was very special for her ( only 8 yrs old). Things are still very tough, with lots of difficult memories to deal with every day. But we are pulling through bit by bit. My work has altered my hours to let me spend more time with my family, which has been fantatsic, I only hope it continues. I have been trying to get to know a young woman of recent, but only time will tell, may be a bit soon but I find good company is a great help. Looking forward to Christmas at home with my kids, and hopefully someone new . Thanks for all your support guys and gals. lets hope that 2006 will be zedtatsic.
