What do you think of this..?
We cant see the other mounts holding the rest of the rear box up on the picture . it may have other hanger mounts to surport it ? not ideal but not the end of the world i think . theres worse things could be wrong . lol

Nissan dealer service
My question is . how come a nissan dealer was fitting a Greedy belt? And not a gen nissan belt? This does not make sense to me. More to this than meets the eye i think. Most dealers train there tech's to the current vehicle range based on the latest specs etc. So it can be very difficult to find a dealer who would have a tech old enough to have been trained on the z32.as the training sced for this model was 1989 to 1991 in the uk. And the vg30 engine was part of the basic cambelt stage of training at that time. So some tech's would only change one of these belts maybe only once in there lifetime.

Plenum by pass close up tech help
Just a note guys. I have seen a couple of these laterly were someone has removed the pipes completely leaving the turbos with no coolant supply. Please note every one this must not be done really . So pay close attention to jeffs diagrams . To keep the supply of water to the tubo's.

Best place to re-locate the knock sensor is...

Engine drop?
Standard and upgrade units. Just a case of removing the down pipes and exit housing's from the turbo 's remove the o/s/f wing solinoids and brake master cylinder and pipes off the inner wing section. this gives good space to get to the o/s turbo. only tricky areas are the turbo lock tabs on the nuts to the turbo housing/ manifold. these can be a bit of a pain but long bars and carful work and you can move them all. then small adapted spanners to undo the bolts. the coolant hoses stay on the turbo just disconnect the rubber hoses. o/s only. The n/s you will need to remove the hoses and pipe work to the turbo.then its just a case of working through the other parts as you see them.

Conzult, how usefull?
its a very handy tool to have but as always its only a guide in most cases and needs to be interpreted correctly. its not very often i use consult as a rule. and i do this for a living. as many of the faults and problems can be found and recified without its use. you need to think of how often you would use it.And decide on cost and use ratio. :)

Engine drop?
ps i have done loads this way...

Engine drop?
you dont need to drop the cross member . you can remove the turbo's without to much problem with no engine drop or cross member drop etc. just takes a bit of care and there easy. time wise about 4 hours a side to do i would say.

Engine drop?
You can replace the turbo's without removing the engine or lowering it.

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
Cool to see the other z with this idea . i didnt see any bhp figures . At least 300zxy's car is the only one with sts kit and only uk Z with this fitted.

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
The maf is blown through. You could fit this whole setup to a tt without changing anything under the hood. Already thinking also about a tri turbo setup lol.

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
I dont wish to start an argument here . but as i said the only mod was the change to the turbo pressure reg and damper for the reason i posted before. i didnt claim them to be an upgrade! And im not arrogant or ignorant. But i am more than qulified to state the facts in this matter and cover all the technical issues regarding this build . Also i didnt see any request from any one asking for advise? just telling the story. If 300zxy had followed most advise this 300 would never have got its wicked upgrade.

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
Thanks smithy. I will subscribe to the site. I am in the trade. And have been doing Z's since the eighties which is a long time. So i do know a little bit about these cars lol. Thats why i defend stuff somtimes. :)

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
Not that i need to explaine. We fitted to turbo pressure regulator and damper as a matter of course as the units fitted to the n/a had never had possitive pressure on them and i didnt want to risk the fuel pressure not to rising correctly in relationship with the charge pressure.!! As im sure you know this is important :) yes there is an A F ratio print out on this dyno run and its fine on boost plus the duty on the injectors is fine also. Why are you looking for faults in this set up? Its fitted. it works briliant. 3000zxy brave enough to try somthing never done before. The idea of this system is you dont always need lots of other mods. And thats been proven. Again well done Rich

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
i hope you dont mind me responding to these questions 300zxy. The only mod we did was fit turbo fuel pressure regulator and damper. the rest is stock. so these stock injectors and ecu easy making 349hp no problem with some to spare With no det issues and good fueling . And they wont be unreliable either in twenty five years iv never seen a set of injectors worn out on a z !
-
STS Rear Mounted Turbo
Just a note to make this clear. The car is running stock N/A injectors and stock map. There is NOT problem with the fueling the stock injectors are working just fine delivering the fuel under boost. so no need to change them or the ecu. To look under the bonnet of the z it looks totally stock you see nothing of the beast within. very cool in my mind. :)

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
it is possible to get a tt for the kind of money we are talking about. But this car is unique now. Has a sound like no other car. and im sure insurance wont be as bad as a tt car. Plus having somthing different and trying different things to explore what can and cant be done is a very exciting thing to do.As this can lead to other ideas etc and move the world of car mods into somthing new? Hats off to 300zxy for having this crazy mod done.

STS Rear Mounted Turbo
Yes mate stock injectors and stock ecu. Just goes to show the flexibilty of these things. Everyone at the dyno shop was gob smacked at how much power it made on its first outing with no mods. Brilliant Z.
