  1. Well it'd be one hell of a lot louder than air bled from the induction side by blow off valves. I think that's the question he's trying to answer.
  2. Why has this thread been dragged up?
  3. Good question. What's the score Andy? I thought the stock ones were fine.
  4. I photographed every little bit when I had it in pieces. It makes a great reference when you can't quite reach something or work out where something goes.
  5. I've no idea! What's definate is it hasn't been fitted at all right. And no matter what they say, they've cocked up and need to put it right. I suppose if the rear gearbox mount wasn't fitted correctly and the gearbox was suspended below its normal place, that would move the control rod's position, and thereby the gearstick. That doesn't sound very feasible though. You'd have to be a right ar5e to get that wrong. You're suggestion about the support bracket bolts sounds good but that would only explain why the stick had moved forwards. He also says it's shifted over to the left. It's my bet they haven't even attached the support bracket and the gearstick's now pivoting on part of the bodywork or something similar. Does it appear to have a longer travel along any of its axes now, or greater play when you wiggle it? I know what you mean about the heatshield though, never thought about that. I think you're right and the front end would obscure the control rod.
  6. You can see it all from underneath. No need to remove anything, you just need access to the underside of the car. It should all be pretty apparent where everything's meant to go if you can get under there.
  7. They have definately put it back together wrong mate! It should be exactly where it was before. Go back and insist they put it back as it was.
  8. Are you lot having a giraffe?! You're looking at the brunette when there's that blonde next to her???!!!
  9. They were £460 including EBC Red Stuff pads. The disks are also thicker which is accomodated for by using pads with less starting material.
  10. Nice! How big are they? That stock disk has got a few more K's left on it! Put it back on.
  11. I'll post piccies of the old ones next to the new ones when I take them off. How big are the other brake upgrades that are available, such as the Skyline set up?
  12. The man's got a point! Now if I wasn't far too busy drinking beer and posting sh1t posts on an Internet forum...
  13. Well while everyone's sponging off everyone else then! Can anyone do my job for me and write an SFTP DCOM server for me in Visual C++ ATL 7 for tomorrow morning then? I'll buy you a big breasted whore for a week...
  14. Oi! I said I can! Unfortunately I've got a fooking busy business, an 8 month old baby boy and a set of brakes to fit at the weekend. And, for the record, I've attached a picture of my main excuse for the sole reason that I'm f'in proud and I've had beer!
  15. Now this is far more like it Nelson mate! You haven't started a good argument for ages. And when you do, you try and morph into an auto/manual debate. Come on, don't stop there... there must be some correlation between how crap IAM are and their inability to recognise the potential of mass reduction. Good work mate! Keep it coming!
  16. Bloody hell! You two type quick!
  17. 310mm. Got these from the same place I got my grooved rears, 3G brakes. http://www.3gbrakes.co.uk/main.htm
  18. Look what the postman FINALLY delivered this morning. Been waiting three months for these babies.
  19. He's not f'in joking mate! I removed mine with the engine on a stand. A spanner on it just rounds the nut so that's not really an option. I had to saw the pipe off so I could get a socket on to the nut. Then I had to lift myself off the ground on a three foot breaker bar to get it shifted! Good luck mate.
  20. That's me mate but I'm totally snowed under at the moment. Sorry.
  21. That's a very good point. The only time it wouldn't leak would be when the pressure in the cylinder was more than or equal to the pressure in the cooling system. So when the coolant is cold or when you are on a lot of boost it would leak less. However, if there was a very small breach, the flow would vary (I couldn't even guess how much!!!) with the pressure differential, even when the pressure in the coolant was greater than the pressure in the cylinder.
  22. On overrun the greatest vacuum exists in the cylinders. This would make it more likely to suck in anything from the surrounding passageways if there is a small breach of the head gasket. This would obviously get pushed out of the back on the exhaust stroke. If you're getting white smoke on overrun and your coolant level is dropping, I'm afraid I would be suspecting head gasket failure. However, I would definately expect it to be more pronounced out of one exhaust than the other as the steam would have to cross the exhaust balancing pipe to reach the other side. And I think you would be extraordinarily unlucky to have a head gasket failure in both banks at the same time!
  23. I can beat you there mate... just. You must have been in short pants when you first joined then!
  24. I got one brand new from Courtesy for £35 so that's about the right price.
