  1. It's because they are designed now by accountants not engineers.
  2. Thanks for advice chaps, at least I know now where to start looking.
  3. Have a go with the auto gearbox judder, on here, disappears when the car gets warmed up.
  4. So are the symptoms indicative of a worn centre bearing or a worn gearbox mount ?
  5. Could this be because the mount sags after being parked up ?. If so has anybody got a Nismo mount kicking about.
  6. Good thinking, but why does the vibration disappear when warmed up?
  7. The car is a 1990 auto tt and when cold it fires up OK, runs correctly and warms up to temp. However when pulling awayin normal auto mode there is a lot of vibration through the car as the gearbox tries to make the first change up. It feels like the oil is thick or the mountings are worn. When the car has covered about 5 miles all this disappears and the box changes as it should. Any thoughts?
  8. Hi Jeff. Is this something you do on all of your engine transplants ?
  9. They look pretty good, I need a set for the rear as mine are part worn and caused an advisory note at MOT time, price for the rears seems good considering they are grooved.
  10. How long to take out the damaged one and replace on a 1990 tt, what does it entail ?
  11. A good job well done, best of luck in the future.
  12. £9000.00 seems a lot to spend on a car in receipts he or the previous owner values at only £1500.00, it does seem like a case of buyer beware. Good luck.
  13. Well said Uno, that is good constructive advice and I'm sure the guy will know the serious consequence.
  14. Thanks everybody, now sourced one through club member.
  15. Same here, I assume the packs are not ready yet.
  16. does anyone have the original 0-60 times for both standard cars ?
  17. The drive wheel is kaputt, I have sent PM>
  18. Mine has just ground to a halt, torn the plastic belt to shreds, has anybody out there got a good replacement please?
  19. I had the same problem, fuse removed because the compressor was damaged. The clutch sounds like the source. A new comp. needed . The clutch should engage when you push the air con switch.
  20. Thanks it looks like what is required, if I can find somebody going down your way I will contact you.
  21. One day I pushed the Auto button to bring on the air con and heard this almighty crash, like the chain coming off my old push bike. Turn it of and it stops. I checked the unit and the clutch part is partially locked up and moves only an inch or so. Can this part be replaced in situ or does the whole thing have to come off. The clutch unit seems fairly accesible.
  22. The DVLA site is confusing but when I typed in the vehicles reg. number it came back as £190.00, so I imagine that if I tax it online thats what they will expect.
  23. Thanks, the database shows £190.00 for a year but this changes next April 2010 and then goes on the CO2 emmisions .
  24. Does anyone know the figures for a 1990 300zx turbo reg in this country 2003 ? How much is the car tax for 1 year ?
  25. I think he is trying to tell you that he likes his women like his tea, strong and black as opposed to sweet and white !
