  5. Peeps, This months Phoenix Inn Monthly Meet is on Sunday the 4th January at 1PM (1300 hours). As per usual, the venue is... The Phoenix Inn London Road Phoenix Green Hartley Wintney Hampshire RG27 8RT Here is a link to the pubs web site, which has got a map to help with those not local to the area. http://www.phoenixinn.co.uk/index.html The pub has a long standing tradition of holding car club meets, ranging from the Model T owners club to the Holden Owners Club. Its kiddy friendly, and serves outstanding food. Any questions, dont hesitate to post on here, and I hope to see you there Nick List 300zx Clubs 1. NickZ32 2. Cooper-swb (possibly) 3. 7. Obviously saving weight doesnt increase bhp (bar things like lightened flywheels, pulleys and propshafts, its more like the release power due to less unsprung mass). Extra straight line speed is only one of the benefits of wieght reduction, and its probably one of the biggest increases. I would say the biggest benefit is handling. Trying not to state the obvious, but if you have less mass, then for instance quick left right lefts, the car will be more agile (be able to make changes of direction quicker) and more stable due to the fact that less load will be placed on the tyres and suspension. Hence why cars like lotus elises' will run rings round cars like ours on the twisty b roads. Braking is also going to be improved, but probably at the same sort of proportion as speed increase.
  8. Id agree with whats been said mate. Polished wheels that have been laquered NEVER look as good as bare metal alloy thats well maintained. TBH it is a bit of a pain in the arse this time of year. Ive gained the best results so far using the following: Remove all the dirt with an acid free wheel cleaner, the rub down with Wire Wool, Then Polish stage 1 using - http://www.britemax.com/easycut.html Then to improve the finish - Polish stage 2 - http://www.britemax.com/finalshine.html Then i seal the polish using http://www.chemicalguys.com/Wheel_Wax_p/wac_303.htm (2 layers) Finished off with Collinite 476s - http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/collinite-23476s-paste-wax-detailing-kit.php. If you give them a carefull clean once a week, this should keep the wheels in good nick through about 2-3 months of winter grime. HTH Nick

  16. Im sorry, but it makes absolutally no sense to delete a region because its members didnt attend the meets set up by its REO. Bar the national meets, the Surrey Rolling Road and Virginia Waters meet was probably the two most attended Non National meets in the WHOLE country. It has been a loooooooong time since ive seen any other region hold meets with 15+ zeds at meets. Through the whole time i ran the SC section, the most i ever managed to gather was 11 at Goodwood, every other meet was between 3 and 6 cars. No offence to ivan, but maybe a new REO was needed to freshen up the region with some new ideas and meets. To delete such a huge region just doesnt make sense, and how in gods name does it "clutter up to forum" when we have soooooooooooo many other regions and sub forums, getting rid of a couple of regions isnt going to make the slightest dent in decluttering the forum

SC Crew, Due to a large amount of significant events within my personal life, i am no longer able to provide the commitment that i feel an REO should be able to provide the the regions memebers. As a result i shall be stepping down as your REO with immeadiate effect I know i havent been the most popular REO, but i have enjoyed the time i have had within the role. I shall keep the Phoenix Monthly Meet running as it requires very very little work to run as i have been running it for nearly a year. I have PM'd Kim to notify him Thanks Nick
  18. Get some pics up, tbh the way youve described it it sounds more like micro blisters within the paint rather than orange peel. Orange peel can be sorted using wet and dry, you want to start with something very very weak, ie 3000 grit. You always start with the weakest combination and see where you stand, then step it up if it doesnt have the desired effect. Microblisters on the other hand are a different kettle of fish. If theyre in the clear coat, you should be ok if your VERY carefull, if its in the colour coat, the only solution is a respray. HTH Nick
  19. The main service is at 120k miles mate. These are the parts needed. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=2048&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2008121412442990.210.19.157. I dont know how competant a mechanic you are, but plan about 8 hours to do it all.
  20. Got to sort out cam cambelt idler, and looking into some suspension parts, and saving hard for my brake upgrade and wheels
  21. If the fuel hasnt already seeped passed the rings and you get the starter motor fitted, then ive always used the "blow it out" technique" ie, pull the coils and spark plugs out and turn the engine over, and itll blow the fuel out the spark plug hole, crude but effective
