  1. Ideal time for a one piece indeed NA rear half TT front half fabricated into a one piece
  2. I have used a NA subframe on a TT gearbox. I took a NA rear half of the prop and TT front half and had a custom prop made as i was advised that a NA front half does not ideally fit a TT gearbox and hence the difference in size of the yokes and diameter required a custom prop to be fabricated.
  3. There is a marked difference In acceleration I wouldn't do it if there wasn't as it takes you into the realms of ideally needing to custom make a prop. Of course a unconfirmed amount of bhp also puts a smile on your face :)
  4. There is a lot more variables than just comparing a diff and times ie tyres, driver ability and so on. You can look at some youtube videos of track times in high powered cars but the driver hasnt got a clue where the racing line is. Same goes for 1/4 mile plus we dont have a big enough zed scene doing quarter miles to make a comparison between diffs and power etc. I guess alot just never raced in their early days whether it be street racing, go kart racing or any other racing.
  5. Ive been watching a discussion about the quality of Godspeed parts that has been going on stateside as i remember seeing people raving about the look of their intercoolers over here. Here are some direct quotes as they seem to do suspension components as well. how much were these? godspeed makes good suspension parts? this is the first I have heard of that This is also the first I've EVER heard that Godspeed makes good parts... This is also the first I've EVER heard that Godspeed makes good parts... (this was posted twice by 2 different people) Godspeed has good products? sorry had to add to this... Thats like saying douscheworks makes good injectors Well its like this, its steel tubing with a few welds and some solid joints. Its too simple of shit just to pay for the name.. So what if i have to grind a little here and beat the shit out of it there it does the same job. I would not how ever buy my injectors from godspeed.. That being said if u notice i said ive been using them with no fail not that they where all that great..(posted by OP) God Speed is barely advanced enough to make intercoolers... If they had the technology to make injectors, I guarantee you they would be shit. And yes, there is a big difference between cheap ebay suspension parts, and name brand, reputable parts. How they were designed, what kind of conditions they were produced in, what kind of machines they were made with, what kind of welder and welding material they used, how they prep the parts, how they finish the parts, etc... I have had God Speed RUCAs on my Z for about 7 months now, my car has not seen rain in over a year, it is stored in a sealed garage, within 2,000 miles of having them on my car, they were rusted to the point where it was starting to make me feel uneven. And their ball joints are famous for failing. Yes, it does matter who you buy from, it's not just a piece of metal... So a little bit of research and you start finding out some real opinons on a company and their parts. Just some direction for folks to make a more informed decision on what company to buy their parts from.
  6. Im after the rear hubs, knuckles and brakes off a subframe
  7. Yeah I've been tracking them for a few months now. I knew they wouldn't go for much due to the emails I got back from the guy and knew everyone else would be getting the same treatment.
  8. Image is everything. Just look at Little Chef. Im more interested in the parts though to help all all out. This is not a democracy in practice.
  9. I think he was talking about comparing AMS to Japspeed. There is no comparison between Ashspec and Japspeed totally different levels of quality.
  10. There is a big difference between fibreglass and poly urethane :) about triple the price for starters as poly urethane bends and flexes like the standard bumper does whereas fibreglass cracks. We could do with some poly urethane parts being sold over here :D add that to the list
  11. a bit of grease works a treat to do this
  12. I missed the point is yours one of the poorly fitted fibreglass parts that i spoke about? Have you seen my zeds and the amount of mods i have? Im not against it by any far stretch.
  13. Im doing my bit i scraped a perfectly good shell that 200 would of secured it and i know others are buying to break probably for cash gain rather than bring down the numbers :) As for zed numbers, i see no more than 30 at the shows at any one time.
  14. Ok then i misunderstood you when you said `as it came from Nissan`. So wheels are ok what about air filter or is that too boy racer? I think you see my point there is a vast difference from a few mods and personal taste to totally changing the look of a zed with new lights, bumpers, spoiler and the rest of the crap that is out there. I think we agree to some degree however i think there is other people that actually go as far as to say that nothing should be changed on the car and it should be totally standard with standard rims and the lot. As for these cars becoming scarce and becoming more collectable i cant see this happening. DO we not see this on countless for sale threads where zeds just dont sell so i doubt there will suddenly be more people that want them. Having tried to sell 2 zeds now with no real luck i dont think it is going to change. Ive said it before in other plafces when you ask for 4k plus for a zed you are into RX7 and skyline territory. Anything trying to break 6k gets into R33 GTR territory and to compete against that you will need a very nice, sensibly modded zed otherwise it will be another boy racer looking machine that you was talking about with a mismatched bodykit.
  15. As i said is either one wrong or are you so against the modding fraternity however minimal it may be ie different wheels that you wouldnt go to a car show because of this? Alot of us can agree that poorly fitting fibreglass parts is not the best look for a zed but surely people should be allowed to express their uniqueness and ideas without getting told everytime that people hate the look that they have chosen. There is alot of threads about of people showing off mods that i think look terrible but its their car they can crack on with it and try something different. Partly the reason that i have no build threads up as i dont want a list of responses saying have you thought about this or i wouldnt use those turbos and such. Im just happy to tinker away in my workshop and build my zed with a little help from the people who know their stuff.
  16. Are you one of the people that likes how the car came from Nissan? If so is that your zed in the sig pic? Where have your standard rims gone? There is of course a lot of crap body parts out there that get stuck to Zeds and a crowd that enhances their Zeds is either one wrong? I think people are far too critical when it comes to other people's Zeds and like to make noise maybe this is what stops growth as these people then disappear cos they think **** that I'm just gonna enjoy my zed on my own with the few people that I know that aren't on the forum.
  17. I commend this man on his attempt to get the zed scene moving in the right direction. I would like to think some of the things listed are possible all it takes is effort however due to my personal circumstances i cannot actively take part in events but i can support with sound zed technical advise and have spannered under a few bonnets already to help a fellow zedder. That is all i will say as ill let others deal with the politics. I just spotted though you cant see anymore at the bottom who has viewed this thread just the current viewers.
  18. I was not stating anything about interforum relations i was talking about poor relations with parts suppliers as is the thread of the topic before people get carried away and OT Other Jap cars have done well in the UK with a good source of aftermarket parts and the Z32 does very well in the US so the issue is UK based i believe
  19. a large portion of poor rusty zeds, poor owners tarnishing the zeds through bogus claims on sales and poor relations within the zed community i believe is what is ultimately keeping the profile down. It is not the same on FD and Skyline forums nor the same at car shows. Alot of people want the profile raised and maybe it will in 20 years when there is a handful of good zeds left and the dross has been scrapped.
  20. It's a zenon bumper last time I checked they had round aftermarket fogs in???
  21. Add ARB to the rear they are different in thickness hence the possibility that the front may be the same
  22. Brakes are different and i suspect ARB too as they are different on the rear
