Bottom end help and advise.:helpsmilie:
Alot of people would suggest to do all the gaskets while you are at it and you would be best getting a gasket kit like this http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=671&Car_Type=NIS300&UID=2010031808045194.195.172.103 Ive currently got my spare engine in pieces to rebuild and will be using most of the gaskets in the kit. Also look at threads on EGR delete and Plenum water bypass might as well as the engine is out. CZP can supply the parts alot cheaper than you can get in the UK and with the postage as well. Also i have had parts from them before and not had any import tax to pay just email them with what you need and they can source it for you. HTH Marty

Manual conversion?
Hi folks ive just had a look through the search and cant quite find what i was after. Im looking at getting a z32 shell that is a automatic and i will convert it to manual in the summer. Question is, is it just a case of bolt on all the manual gearbox parts, are all the mounting points there for things like the clutch master cylinder. Just wanted to check i wouldnt need any body modifications to convert to a manual. Cheers Marty

Z's dead...
Sorry to hear about that mate and i too had the same problem with my passenger tub sounding a bit loose. Found out in the end that the pipe coming off the block behind the A/C was blocked which is why my bearings had totally collapsed. May be something to look at if it is that side. Marty

AfterMarket Radiator
Hi Dave sorry it took so long but this is mine with the shroud on fine. I have a larger radiator from ebay that has threaded holes for the top 2 bolts for the shroud cover. Also i had to cut the top coolant hose slightly to fit on the wider radiator. Marty

Engine weight ?
With turbos and plenum and bits on its about 250kg. I picked one up the other week and used a crane to get it on the back of the van and two of us lifted it off the back of the van into a wheel barrow. I say lifted it more like slumped very quickly into the wheel barrow. If you had some sort of steps you could make up to slide it off the back of the van it would be possible to do it this way as it is quite easy to sort of lift and slide but to lift it up into the back of a van would be difficult. Engine Rebuild help
Yep i understand what you are saying however its the difference between 200 to get the head gaskets done and other parts or over a grand to replace everything and tbh as i have a spare engine i can use my spare as my project to use a kit like the one you have listed. I wouldnt like to spend over a grand on my engine unless i was rebuilding with the best parts which will come in the future but having just found out my lowest piston is on 70psi compression i kinda need my other engine in asap.

AfterMarket Radiator
Ill take one later on mate just give me a nudge if i forget but my rad has the 2 threaded holes at the top for the fan guard and the pipes coming off the rad are the same diameter and angle to accept the coolant hoses.

Engine Rebuild help
Hey folks due to the recent news from zedworld that my current engine is knackered due to low compression i need to get my spare engine stripped and rebuilt as quick as possible and put in as soon as i can so just need to confirm that my list of parts is correct and if there is anything else i will need. Looking at using nissan parts for this engine and as cheap as i can as my current engine will now be the one im gonna use to uprate the internals. My spare engine is an automatic twin turbo engine with head gaskets gone but it has been confirmed that the bottom end is fine. Now i know that i will have to use my current turbos and balance pipe as they are different to a manual engine but is there anything else? My rebuild list is below let me know if i miss anything cheers 2 x head gaskets OEM water pump gasket valve cover gasket set with plenum gasket front coolant pipe gaskets timing belt turbo gaskets EGR bypass plenum water bypass renew turbo coolant rubber hoses and all gaskets head bolts oil filter new engine oil Millers Im also going to fit my exedy hyper clutch and flywheel that ive had for a while. As i said im not looking to spend loads on this engine as i will do that for the engine that is currently in so any gaskets or cheap parts that would be worth upgrading would be good to let me know. Also going to remove the A/C system, EGR as i said before and carbon cannistor. Thanks for the help everyone. Marty

Thanks to Zedworld
Just a quick thanks to Jeff and Jamie for getting to the bottom of a couple of faults on my zed and the new tailgate. Even though the news was bad with regards to a my compression results and leaky injector, it does sound a bit better coming from you. Ill be over in the a couple of months when i get my spare engine in :) Thanks Marty
-
my car is a slow starter
Fault is still there :( however was over a zedworld for a conzult and try to get to the bottom of this fault and confirmed that the engine is really low on compression and ive got a leaky injector. Will have to get my spare engine stripped and rebuilt to put that in so that i can use my current engine as my spare to rebuild with uprated internals. In a way im kinda happy that i know what is going on in my engine now but even more happy that i got a spare engine that needs head gaskets for 132 quid the othe week. Thanks for all the help again and ill start a thread to make sure i get everything changed on my spare engine that i need to. Marty
