Finally i may have cured the fault started first time earlier in less than 5 seconds and again when i went back later on. Gonna try again in the morning for the final test. Changed my spark from the HKS ones i had in to NGK PFR6B-11B spark plugs and the fault may have gone. I replaced the spark plugs about 10 months ago for the HKS ones as there was already HKS ones when i bought the car just over a year ago. Result :sorcerer: thanks for the help everyone :)

Must be the weather cos my belt started squeaking a bit when it was cold the other day and my belts are really new. Checked my tension and that is still fine :biggrin:

oddly i mainly get it from one side but my exhausts join down the centre section it is a hard one to diagnose as there is alot of people with smokey exhausts and alot of possible causes. Its just a case of eliminating each possible cause in turn. I do not know what state my engine was in before i bought apart from what i could tell when i bought it so im changing the parts that could do with a change after 110k miles.

Ive got the same problem as well ive got 2 pcv`s on the way and i replaced the turbos not long ago. Im off to zed world on friday so ill see what they reckon there

If you was going to uprate your clutch id go for the exedy one tbh. Just my opinon and i think it works out around the same price have a look on ebay

Nope problem is still there after sorting a fuel leak and a new series 2 PTU have some NGK spark plugs on the way as that may be a cause what does everyone else reckon?

i put mine on after putting the engine in too saves breaking into the power steerings lines

Had a go at starting this morning however was still a bit slow took about 10 seconds to start im sure there is still a problem there :(

ive got a MINES ecu on mine that was fitted before i bought the car so im not sure what it was mapped to but it does seem pretty aggressive as they normally are.

right had a good crack at this tonight and found a smell of fuel around the pressure regulator so had the small top hose off and the one that goes down to the rail and changed both of these as that is the only place i could smell fuel coming from so surely that has done it will see tomorrow morning when i start from cold again. Series 2 PTU arrived from CZP yesterday as well so got that fitted on there. Also swapped out all my old boost hoses for new blue silicone ones looks a damn sight better now and should eliminate any boost leaks :)

Is that the rubber hose at the front of the plenum? ive sorted the leak i had at the damper and down to the fuel rail. Im sure its gotta be fuel problem i will have a look with someone turning it over today.

Ok just an update on this as i am still getting the same problem. Just fitted a brand new series 2 PTU, coolant temp sensor and found a fuel leak on the top of the plenum but it is still taking agaes to start and thus killing the battery before it has chance to start. I have some braided fuel hoses on the way which will eliminate any fuel leaks from the top side but how many fuel hoses are there under the plenum that could be leaking? I had a look under there when it was running and i couldnt see any leaks. I changed my fuel filter about 6k miles ago however the car has always started slow so i just wanted to confirm its not possible to install the fuel filter the wrong way round is it as i put the new one in the same way as the old one came off. Another thought is i have HKS spark plugs fitted and ive read a few posts about recommended spark plugs and thought this could have something to do with it but these were also changed 6k miles ago. Any more ideas will be great help as when she is warm will start without any problem really its just mainly from cold after sitting for the night or so. Thanks for the help Marty

After waiting 10 days and nothing after contacting him several times i said cancel it and refund me then he decided to send another part out recorded delivery however just checked the jiffy bag and it wasnt sent recorded at all. Personally i think it is just a case of another bad ebayer unless there is still a recorded parcel in the pipeline for me but cant see that happening

Nope i wouldnt dream off putting a rear spoiler like that on im quite a fan of the smoothed look :tongue_smilie:

Are you a zedder looking to buy or just being nosey? So i said that people in forum take interest in zeds on ebay and adverts that claim bhp but no real write up as to how it gets it and what a surprise reply I dont give a monkeys about forums. I have a print out so like I said come and see. i sell cars for a living and do well at it. just been on ebat and as i didnt buy the item through an auction it wont let me ask for a resoloution so i looked at paypal and that only lists 2 reasons for complaints which is item not arrived and item damaged :(

it was an ad where he was breaking a 300zx so i enquired about parts that way and didnt buy it straight from an auction ad

just had a nightmare with an ebay seller. Bought an item from them and basically still had nothing after 10 days so in that time i was onto them several times saying where is my item. After 10 days i had enough so i said fine just give me a refund ill make other arrangements and then they ignored that and sent me an email saying that they had sent me another part recorded delivery that i ended up getting after 14 days in total. Just asked for a return address that i asked for when they sent the item recorded delivery and now saying that they do not accept returns as the item is not faulty. Has anyone else had dealings with 300zx_parts ? Rant over lol Marty
