  1. The only thing I haven't really figured out is how to keep those HID on when you use your high beam for flashing! But yeah the neg just ground it to any part of the chassis really have to wire it up to the neg wire.
  2. Yes I know... I shouldnt be reading Max Power but I had nothing better to do and I was waiting for a friend so I thought I'll go browsing in WHSmith and see what has change. Not much but there was definetly an odd number of 300ZX in the mag for some reason. A huge amount actually! There's an article about import cars and what you should get... they had 300ZX in there and listed it at from £1500. They've seem to be featuring the Z alot these days. Could this be the reason why we are having an influx of young Z drivers these days!? I'm already feeling old and I've still got a few more years before I hit my 30s! :slap:
  3. I'm not 100% sure where the oil leak is coming from but I know it's around where the autobox oil tray is and it does seem to be coming off the housing of the gear box first. Not a major leak or anything as it seems to only leave a tiny pool of oil after standing around for at least a week odd. As for the wires on the starter motor I didnt actually find it to take it out of the car but as people has pointed me to pictures of it, I did whack it one and the car now starts... with tractor like noises now.
  4. If you think you can afford to run and maintain it then why do you need to ask about the insurance then!? :wack: Just as an example, the reason why I went for a 300ZX is because the insurance for me to get one was pretty much the same as a 200SX. Then again I am few years older then you are! Have fun trying to find a UK TT. Not that many UK cars around!
  5. Cheers, that was definetly the thing I wacked with my wrench...! Once I stopped unbolting the wrong thing that is. Will see if I can get the stupid thing and and source myself a working starter motor.
  6. The car is registered SORN while I get it up a point where I'm happy for it to be on the road, so it aint going anywhere yet! Planning to do that but I didnt exactually have any luck in finding the starter motor when I was down there though I was pretty sure what I smacked with my wrench cause I got a bit peed off for being under the car for 2 hours was the starter motor. If anyone has a nice picture of where exactually it is then that'll be great as my guess was it's near the oil filter near the driver side exhaust pipe. I think... Though didnt have my XDA then so couldnt get a sound recording but I'll try and get a recording later today as long as it's not rainning that is.
  7. The starter motor sounds more like a tractor. Though the more I rev the faster the tractor sound is, so not tooo sure! But definetly sounds like it's coming from under the driver side.
  8. Right managed to get the Z started. After two hours under the car looking for the bloody starter motor. I think I found it... couldnt find a way of getting the thing off and it started to tick me off so I smacked it one with the wrench I was holding. And the Z started... ¬¬! Anyhow, it now sounds like a bloody tractor! Thanks for the help you guys! I think I'm gonna go book her into one of the specialist now as I've probably done enough damage changing oil and ending up with a smoking Z! Though on the other hand I did find out where the leaking oil is dripping out of. Gear box... >
  9. The last time I was at Gallions Reach (east london) it was 89.9p.
  10. First Gen CTR, 185BHP 1.6 NA. I do remember another car manufactorer who managed to get 195BHP or something around that mark from a NA, it was either a Nissan or a Mazda. Personally I wouldnt mind having one. I was thinking of getting the DC2 until I saw how much the price was for one... I swear the I-VTEC hits in at around 5600 while the old VTEC hits in around the 6200 mark. They only did that to smoothen out the torque curve. Personally I quite like the VTEC kick! :smash: If I remember it right Spoon Sports EK9 CTR rev'd to around 11k mark.
  11. I managed to find one of your old threads on it! AT least I know what it looks like now!
  12. Will take a look around under there! I think I better do a search on how easy it is to get a starter motor replaced! God damn it, fix one thing, break another! >
  13. Not a manual, I've converted the video though couldnt convert the sound cause I havent a bloody clue what the format is. All I know is that I was moving it about in the car park then I put my foot a little down on the gas to get it moving a little faster and clunking sounds came out of it...! Probably is a starter problem... from my guess. If anyone can tell me where exactually the starter is I'll get myself under the car during the week and find out what it is and if I need a new starter then I guess I better go find one!
  14. I figured it might be a starter problem myself as when it was running before all I heard was this clunking noise and decided that I prob should turn the car off before it does some serious damage... that was when I ended up having to get 2 of my mates to help me push the bloody thing back into the parking area! I'll try convert the video into something a little more video friendly.
  15. Yeah, following on from my previous thread and all the nice suggestions, I've got myself a new battery and the only thing it solved was that my wipers dont turn itself on anymore when I turn on the ignition! Aint got a clue why it wont start but it doesnt make any nice noises so I've recorded the sound and recorded the dash lights! So please do tell me what's up! Otherwise I'm gonna need a mobile mech to turn up and help fix my problem. Recording1.wav VIDEO_00001.avi
  16. Dont do that. Tell him to go buy a 200SX, it's faster... that way we get to off load him on to the SXOC lot instead!
  17. I'm gonna pick up a new battery to see if that's the problem or not. Did try jump starting it yesterday and it kind of drained the other car's battery but still wouldnt start. It was running before I turnt it off because it started making these funny noises, along with the fact that the car was slowly turning the car park into a scene from Silent Hill. ¬¬ I'm quite worried that something gone and died on me right now cause before I actually changed the oil and everything else it was running fine without any smoke or anything! One thing i can say is that stock oil pressure gauge is quite low and then starts moving by itself up and down!
  18. Dont ask me... changed the oil, coolant, shoved a nice new oil cooler on the front, HID lights and now I have electrical problems! And the fact that the car is smoking like a guy on weed. Anyway, anyone got any ideas? Try to start the car and all my electrics cut out. Got power if I dont start the car and the electrics works fine, if a bit slow. Did get a jump start but that never solved anything on top of the fact that my bloody wipers keeps coming on everytime I start the car. So if anyone can help cheers! :hyper:
  19. If you look back on his history he has made some interesting threads... like what is the cheapest mod you can buy for your Z for about £40 odd! Classic thread if you ask me!
  20. EK9 comes close at 5.7sec! Not that you see that many EK9s around, bloody Japs keeping the best cars for themselves. As for a 1.6 Peugeot... god what a waste of time even bothering. I had a stupid idoit in his Golf GTi revvin' the nuts off of his car and looking over at me. Didnt see any reason why I should even bother wasting my time with him... not only that we was in a freakin' traffic jam on the A406! All I gotta say is PLEASE whatever you guys do, dont turn this into the toyotagtturbo.com forum where every car they come across, they can beat it... Though you should visit it and read the crap they come out with! Maybe I should try beating a maxed out 1.0l Nova. :xxx:

Yup, the 350Z engine is a tuned Renault engine which they pulled out of the Vel Satis. Nissan badging, Renault engine.... :wack:
  22. Ha! The car been despoilered for now though I haven't got the holes welded up just yet. Which is why I'm thinking, should I get a spoiler and get everything done up with it or should I go smoooth it out. It's a silver car and I aint too sure if it'll work as good as the Red or Black Z completely smooth. Come to think of it I dont have much pictures of the back of my Z... none actually! Try get some 2moro as it's kind of rainning here today.
  23. Having a slight hard time deciding what I should do her on the rear. So I thought I'll throw it up to you guys! Should I get the 99 spec spoiler or should I use that money to get something else... like maybe some gauges or a boost control...!? Now get voting!
  24. And me! Damn it!
  25. Prob will cost mega bucks but I'm gonna go down that 99 spec route! I do remember one of the traders selling it but only as a group buy? Can't remember who but we could prob get a group buy again!?
