  1. I may have possibly been on a speed awareness course quite recently (ahem!) and they did make the point that not all police forces adhere to the same limits. Herts & Essex are certainly lenient but Wales are well known for having a zero tolerance approach in places. Also, all speedos over-read, not always by much as new ones are far more accurate than some of the older ones, but it is illegal for a speedo to under read, which in theory protects you from being done for 71mph etc. Another point that was made is that many of the speed cameras are not switched on, or at least are on for only a few hours a day, as the police could simply not process the volume of tickets that would be issued if they ran 24x7.
  2. I've not researched this at all, but I would like to see real, scientific, repeatable proof that there is a performance/running improvement. It's very easy to say it "feels" different, but having paid out for that you'd want it to feel different. Most fuels are supposed to have cleaning agents in them now anyway, so the build up of deposits should be reduced, compared with 10+ years back.
  3. It used to be that The Post Office/Parcel Force were less efficient at collecting the import duty, but perhaps they are taking it a bit more seriously too now.
  4. Yes, used them a number of times, great company, bear in mind you have to pay shipping and you will almost certainly pay import duty due to them using DHL.
  5. What were they thinking ? At the risk of upsetting some people, I just don't understand why someone would buy a Z32, which has a very smooth, subtle, distinctive shape, and then stick nasty angular tupperware all over it. Surely you be better starting off with something different, if that was what you really wanted ....
  6. There are a few other reasons for having switchable maps other than outright performance. Eg a valet/garage/loan mode whereby speed etc is limited.
  7. Although switchable maps on the standard ECU is simple.
  8. Hate 'em, like the new Golf (I think) and the new Nissan wheels. Although the ones in the pic below are "less bad". Bring back Minilites (not really).
  9. How do they make modern wheels so ugly ?
  10. I'd guess you have two or three intermittent problems. So you probably have and airlock in the cooling system, an air leak somewhere and an intermittent electrical fault, probably on the ignition side and/or on the idle control circuit. One step at a time ....
  11. Try Mike at MJP, he has a heap of common stuff in stock and can usually get form Nissan EU fairly quickly.
  12. Tapatalk (or whatever it's called, allows you to respond to PMs directly, which is nice ...
  13. Yes, should be simple. http://www.therantsandraves.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/usbwiringdiagram.jpg
  14. Is anyone using LEDs ?
  15. Now somewhere I have one of the supplements scanned, because Vijay did it for me. But where is the question ....
  16. Here it is now. nissan.zip
  17. I love driving in the wet, the Z was especially fun.
  18. I disagree, when working properly the standard brakes, UK or import, are OK. They are not brilliant, but perfectly acceptable. Mine would fairly easily lock the wheels at 50mph or more. That didn't stop me upgrading to a 350Z setup though.
  19. Clearly the pedal should not go to the floor, but a master cylinder brace will also help with the general feel of the pedal.
  20. Happy Birthday Mike.
  21. Too small for me to read these days ! lol
  22. I got all new connectors and soldered them on, took a while but the difference was amazing. The car never ran so smoothly. Agreed !
  23. A girlfriend of mine had a Manta GTE, it was brilliant fun.
  24. Blimey, I got an award, and I wasn't even there ! Thanks guys.
