  1. Problem solved ! The numpty company that forgot to send the locking bands for the flue just sent me six instead of three. With a bit of hammer application to flatten out the curved edges I now have three 60mm wide stainless steel bands with worm drive fasteners - perfect !
  2. Yeah, I know, gets a bit Heath Robinson though ....
  3. Kinda Saturday really ! Right now I have a hole in my roof and no flue in place, because the joining clamps were missing. They should turn up Friday and I have to get the hell on with the rest of it before it rains more. Thanks for the offer though, I'll see if I can find someone locally with something similar.
  4. Hmmm, not thought of that, would probably do the trick though ...
  5. It's for a flue that is being fitted to my house for a new woodburning stove. 6" insulated flue has an external diameter of ~700mm. I need one to keep the lead flashing around the flue tight, and potentially two more to affix a support stay.
  6. ... where I might get some. They need to be approx 700mm long and if they were stainless it would be a bonus. Have searched the usual places, but only found stuff less than half that size so far. Cheers
  7. My prices are here :- http://www.300zx.org.uk/ecu_maps.htm Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
  8. I think there is a socket under that chip, although it is difficult to tell from the photo. However, it is a standard Nissan chip, it is possible that someone has scraped the label off, UV erased it, put the label back and re-written the chip - but unlikely !
  9. That is a standard Nissan chip.
  10. Genuine Mines ECU's are going to be Araldited in. I have a spare one that is just like that, no idea what spec it is though, although it is possible to download the map, interrogate it and make some guesses.
  11. Not sure whose chip that is, certainly not one of mine though as I always use U/V erasable EPROMs.
  12. That was about 100yds from where I used to work in Harlow.
  13. Is that anything to do with this ? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/essex/8312990.stm
  14. I would have had the brakes too !
  15. Haha, work is over rated ! I planned to not work over the Summer and in that I have been successful, I ought to get around to planning some future employment at some stage though, in the next tax year perhaps ...
  16. Until recently, when I took a redundancy package, I used to work in IT, in either networks or security. So far this year I haven't done any real work, but who knows, that may change sometime ....
  17. You probably have air trapped in the master cylinder. Is yours the type with the bleed nipple on the end ? If not then it can be a real struggle to get it out, due to the angle at which it sits.
  18. Actually, they need the rear hubs modifying, but aside from that it's pretty straightforward.
  19. It's very difficult to tell what they are when young ! Anyway, we have two, had they both been male then they would have been called Max and Paddy, but as two males tend to be a bad plan we have a male and a female. So now we have Max and Purdey, Steed and Purdey didn't seem right ...
  20. Love that ad. Anyway, we have loads of posters for the pub, a few badges to give away but nothing else. Had hoped for more freebies ...
  21. I find this site very interesting, especially the underground bunkers :- http://www.subbrit.org.uk/
  22. I would reckon about £75 for an ECU in the UK and about the same again for a chip.
  23. I probably have a spare ECU, the good news for you is that with a manual car with a boost controller you can use any ECU (man/auto) and TT or NA.
  24. An 8-bit ECU with a performance chip of your choice is the easy way to go. I have done this for a number of people have already with no problems.
  25. It may be a 'nice' socket, but I hope it maintains a firm grip. Those are normally considered 'test' sockets and not for permanent use. Very useful if you want to change chips quickly of course. I have one for my ECU but never got around to installing it. My current supply of sockets are a distinctive green colour - very trendy !
