  1. Pull yourself together man !
  2. You definitely need a firewall, I would recommend Comodo. You may already have Microsofts Windows Defender installed, as a freebie that does a pretty good job. If you run Firefox I would suggest the NoScript add-on as that will block most malicious web based code, although it can be a bit of a pain if you find it had to understand/accept it's benefits.
  3. Probable, but debatable whether anything is ever truly erased. The benefit of my suggestion is that anything that may be left is strongly encrypted. It all comes down to how paranoid you and and what your data is worth. Realistically, it's only Government and Military that really take this seriously.
  4. Yes you can, just cut it with a stanley knife, it's much easier to remove than the original mastic.
  5. Get some silicon glass sealer from a DIY place.
  6. Judging by the type of wires coming out of it I'd say it could be the cabling for the cat temp sensors.
  7. All sorted. Thanks for the reminder Athene, not having a lot of time to dedicate to the Forum right now.
  8. Not really, presume C20 would be more aggressive than the JWT and will probably expect Jap fuel. It's possible to compare the two maps given appropriate software, don't have all the stuff with me now though. You would probably be better off with the JWT, but try them and see. I would have written those maps on request, I would not normally recommend the C20 because I view it as largely an unknown quantity. Also, I'm not in the habit or copying JWT chips, so that would probably have been provided to me. I also THINK that the C20 is an auto, presume the JWT would match that.
  9. How does the switching work, is there a little toggle switch hanging out on a grey wire about 20cm long ? If so I probably made it. Presume C20 would be Central20 ?
  10. For you own security all you need to do is format it, full format, not quick format. Should you want to securely erase data on a disk then you can find a program that does a secure erase on the 'white space', then a program to encrypt all data on the disk with the longest random key you can generate, then do a single secure erase pass, this will be quicker than a 7x overwrite that is required by the DoD etc. probably more secure.
  11. Hahah, it's a cruel world - you'll be hard pressed to find another job with conditions like those ! Good luck anyway.
  12. You can either attach the pic to your post, but whenever I do that it only shows up as a thumbnail, (which IMO is best anyway), or you can link to a pic somewhere else like one of the many photo hosting sites. If you attach pics it does count against our bandwidth usage and against our disk storage, but I don't think that is a problem given our current contract. Don't think we have any rules regarding links, with the exception of the usual advertising stuff for unsubscribed members etc.
  13. Many years ago I used to wander through the RRB. My girlfriend was a graphic designer for one of Paul Raymonds magazines and their office was above the Bar. I used to go visit her at lunchtimes and have to walk past all the half dressed girls on the stairs - very distracting ....
  14. It seems to work for most people. What is the error message you get ?
  15. I would recommend CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/
  16. Citroen Xantia 1.8i Estate Bought off eBay unseen for £601, worth every penny of £250, spent about £300 on making it work right, did about 20,000m and the head gasket went. Bodged it and flogged it for £120 on eBay. Overall, it still worked out cheaper than fuel and tyres for the Z !

  18. My ECU reports a pretty constant 84 dec C, although on the blast back from Le Mans on a very hot day it was nearer 96 deg C most of the time. That is with a standard radiator.
  19. One of the fuses in the footwell will be for the clock and a few other things on the same circuit I think.
  20. Yes, a common problem due to manufacturing defects, I have fixed dozens of them, with 100% success.
  21. That is never the problem. Just resolder all the joints on the board problem is you usually have to do the ones under the display as well, which means it has to come off.
  22. Hi, Can you tell me when approx and the reference please, I can't see anything that obviously corresponds with your username. Thanks.
  23. Good effort - there is work out there still.
  24. That's because you just sent money, rather than used the resubscription link which updates your membership automatically - I'll fix it for you manually in a couple of minutes.
