Most noticable one for me was if the unit is turned off while playing, it resumes at the position where it was switched off. It used to be like Groundhog Day for me going to work and back - it used to skip back about 20 mins and took me about a week to hear an album all the way through ! :D lol

You're a sick man ! 40GB, which is standard, equates to approx 40 hours at lowest quality or a little under 10 at best quality. I generally default to high (the setting below best), which gives 15 hours or approx 60 hours with my 120GB disk.

It can't address more than 137GB (without messing with the kernel), but you can put 2 x 160GB in giving you 274GB - which is lots of recording time ! Normal mod is one or two 120GB.

The HICAS light can come on for two reasons, firstly low fluid and secondly if the steering wheel is installed 'off centre'. Therefore, if you drive in a straight line for a while with the steering wheel away from the centre position then the HICAS identifies a fault and is disabled.

In addition to my Zed fiddlings (ECU socketing, digital clock repairs & traction control installs) and TiVo fiddlings I've recently discovered the art of messing with mStation MP3 players, so if there are people out there with them that want them upgraded, with larger disks or newer firmware etc then I may be able to help out. Bright (non standard) yellow with a mid level spoiler - was it you ? Luke perhaps ? Stuck in the traffic above junc 18 (because some tw@t had stoved a red Z3 into the back of a van about 3 miles ahead of you!) I was hurtling northbound having just got through the traffic, after all the rubberneckers were pausing to look at the squished BMW ...

I used clear silicon, the sort of stuff that builders use in bathrooms and kitchens. It's a sod of a job though becuase you have to use heat to separate the old goo, which then melts and sticks to your fingers (at about 200 deg C!)

The bolts on mine were stainless steel and done up FT, but at least they can take some serious abuse when being undone.

Did mine a couple of years ago and it made a big difference. Except that I actually took the headlights apart and cleaned everything, rather than use the gynaecologist approach !

I stick with Morris 10w50 fully synth all year round. About £25 for 5l from my local MotorQuip.

Norwich Union told me they do not insure imports via the 'Direct' business, you need to go through a broker. I did use this method for a couple of years. General rule of thumb I have found is that NU will insure anything - if you're prepared to pay a little more. Liverpool Victoria told me that they do not insure imports. Sounds a bit like the PTU to me. Definitely could do with seeing the output of the diagnostic though.

Have you checked the water level in the radiator ?

Have a look on Gio's site - IIRC he was trying to get the DVLA to correct their messed up figures.
