  1. I have Tokico adjustables (for damping not springing) and standard springs. Going for lower springs can mess up the wheel camber and need further fiddling to avoid heavy tyre wear, not to mention grief with speed humps etc.
  2. If what Mike suggests isn't the problem then try clearing your cache and/or cookies.
  3. My 5 years was on Sept 30th 2003. Still going strong ... (well almost, but given a couple of days it will be fine ...)
  4. Great work Mike. Thanks for the effort you put in, especially as it's over the Xmas "holiday". Cheers Andy
  5. Spent much of the afternoon replacing the alternator, power steering and compressor belts, thermostat, stubby rubber hoses and the metal pipes that attach them to the heads. Is it just me, but removing the power steering belt was THE most difficult part of the whole job - took f-in ages to get enough slack to get the belt off. Also I manged to snap a pukka Facom allen key getting off one of the bolts that holds the casting with the two temp sensors - that fella was on TIGHT !!!! Anyway, so far all seems OK, no leaks but I think I need to tighten up the alternator belt a little - horrid squealing noises. And another small mystery is that the car is now running approx 10 degC hotter than before - presume it must be an airlock somewhere, but that'll be a job for tomorrow.

For reasons that I can't be bothered to explain mine has only the single bleed point on the slave cylinder itself. In order to bleed it properly, I disconnect it from the car (it's only 2 bolts), hold the piston in place using using a clamp or something and then suspend the slave such that the bleed nipple is at the highest point. Then bleed as normal and bolt it back in place - works for me.
  7. Full part number I have is 14053-F6511, I'm hoping that Mike Feeney can get them for me soon - fingers crossed for tomorrow, otherwise the Z stays in the garage and I have to use my mates Renault 19 for hurtling up and down the country over Xmas ....
  8. Yep, probably just a bit of air in the system that you have yet to bleed out. I also spent Saturday morning working to replace the stubby rubber hoses, only to discover when I got them off was that the hoses were OK, but the metal pipes from the head had rusted leaving pinholes and therefore causing the leak. Now I have a car in bits and am hoping to get the pipes ASAP ...
  9. The "standard" Jap speedo is 180Kph, sounds like you may already have a non-standard one.
  10. Must say, I'm pretty tempted myself ....

SE will also do all the work. They did mine but I supplied the bits.
  12. They're nicely powder coated in silver at the moment.
  13. Yup, I had two dead tracks and it works a treat.
  14. Nope, but there may be some on the manufacturers webshite - probably in Jap speak though ....
  15. IIRC that's for some sort of optional extra data logging facility.
  16. Technically, I believe that peanuts are not nuts, they grow under the ground, so I think that makes them some type of tuber - much like potatoes are not vegetables.
  17. Went AWOL for me too !
  18. It's a useful real-time diagnostic tool, but the ConZult does 10 times more for less money. However, it's pretty difficult to have a laptop (for ConZult) running in the car all the time, whereas the Techtom is quite convenient. It also gives you an accurate speedo and water temp indication - I have mine connected all the time.
  19. Yup, MDM-100. Doesn't someone like Steve Ellerby have one ? Oh, and Timmy Turbo of course ! ;)
  20. 72 litres I believe. I generally do about 20 miles with the light on and then put in about 65 litres. Most I have ever put in was 68 I think.
  21. Yeah, and it gets stirred up each time you go over a bump .....
  22. Ahh, well there's your answer then ....

Remind me to come round and reprogramme your ECU for you - no charge !

I had my interpreter with me ! ;) LOL
  25. I don't understand how the warning light can be on when the fuel gauge is working (I'm assuming that it is working, right?) becuase the light seems to be triggered by the float indicating low .... if the float was stuck near the bottom of it's travel then the fuel gauge should also show empty ...
