--Almost Half of KaZaA Files Contain Malware (6/9 January 2004) Research from TruSecure, a company specializing in risk management, found that 45% of files downloaded from KaZaA contained malware. TruSecure senior analyst Bruce Hughes encourages companies to educate their employees about the security risks involved in peer-to-peer file sharing. http://www.zdnet.co.uk/print/?TYPE=story&AT=39118915-39020330t-10000025c http://www.wired.com/news/print/0,1294,61852,00.html

Standard Clutch
With a similar setup mine started slipping after about 500 miles. I thought the clutch was knackered but it turned out that it just didn't have the clamping force to overcome the torque. replaced it with an RPS "street", which uses the Nissan standard friction plate and it's been fine ever since.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/3395161.stm UK song-swappers 'could be sued' The UK record industry is concerned about piracy The British record industry may sue internet song-swappers as part of a new campaign against online piracy. Andrew Yeates, director general of the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) trade group, said it was hoping to encourage new, legitimate services. "We want to increase awareness of the legal implications of file-sharing. If these are not working, there has to be a degree of enforcement," he said. Record firms in the US have already started cases against file-sharers. But the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) actions generated bad publicity after it emerged a 12-year-old girl had been targeted, along with a 66-year-old grandmother who was alleged to have been downloading rap records. Mr Yeates said any legal crackdown would be "proportional", and talks were taking place with internet service providers across Europe to streamline a process for identifying those who distribute the most songs. Illicit Industry-backed services such as iTunes and the revamped Napster are widely expected to be launched in Europe later this year. Mr Yeates said if they were successful and illicit song-swapping levels fell, legal action may not be necessary. The move comes despite healthy album sales for the UK industry. Album sales in the UK rose by 7.6% in 2003 to a record high, fuelled by falling CD prices. But the singles market continues to fall - with a drop of 30% last year. Critics of the music industry's legal action say it is not proportional to the problem of file-sharing piracy. They argue that the world-wide music market is falling as it competes with an explosion in DVD and video game sales.

heater (or should I say lack of one)
The heater should work well, after the engine having been run for a few mins. If yours doesn't work at all then it could be that the fan or motorised vents have stopped working, or that the heater matrix has sprung a leak and someone has bypassed it - take a look down the back of the engine for suspicious looking water pipe mods.

Silly question about tool kits...
The jack, chocks, wheelbrace go on the drivers side, the toolkit goes on the passenger side.

Manual ECU Test
Think you're confused here. If you did it on an auto by messing with the box then that was the autobox controller that was reporting the errors. The procedure for doing an ECU test is the same for both auto and manual. http://www.300zx.org.uk/diagnostics.htm

Heavy Duty Glass polish
Is it pitting or just the effect of acid rain and/or lime etc ? My car came from Japan with a lot of these sorts of marks on the windows and over the years some of it has worn off and some is still left. It's particuarly obvious on the windscreen where the wipers don't reach. I attacked the T-Tops with both Halfords Glass cleaner and AutoGlym Glass Polish, using the finest grade wirewool in each case. It's not perfect but after lots of perseverence I got off quite a lot of the marks. The AutoGlym was far more effective than the Halfords stuff.

Brembo rotors all round on eBay
Also if they ship ground rather than air then the goods are usually delivered by Royal Mail/Partial Force, who are very much less efficient at collecting import duty than FedEx etc

Brembo rotors all round on eBay
That's what I have except without the slots - have always worked well for me.

DIY Oil Change?
Then wear gloves, which you should do anyway when playing with used engine oil - it's usually considered carcinogenic !

TPS settings
TPS voltage is directly proportional to throttle openning, so it should stay the same as long as you're not touching the throttle. If it fluctuates then it may be down to a poor connection, or the rheostat/potentiometer in the TPS itself is wearing out.
-
Fan and battery question
If you mean the elec fan then it will only run when the engine is getting to hot OR if your temp sensor connection is knackered. or if you have no ECU map, but that shouldn't be a problem for you .... ;)

Rad question
You may just have got lucky this time. Drive it a bit and check the level after every trip. If it's still OK after a week then you're probably fine. Exact same thing happened with mine recently.

Plug gaps for jap spec?
In theory they don't need to be gapped if you're using the standard plugs. The -11 on the end of the plug code means 1.1mm

Boost control question, on NA to TT conversion!
Remember it's not "safety boost", it's standard and extended (or something similar). So default is 7psi and extended when the BSCV's open, as controlled by the ECU, is 9.5psi. Agree with Gio about the actual numbers though - not seen that in the official manual.

Interesting - speed cameras
Why did he need to "go onto the Internet" to work out the speeds ? I think that Top Gear proved that if a car (TVR actually) went through a certain type of camera at 170 mph then it was outside the range of measurement by the time the 2nd flash went off. I'd actually heard that it was 156mph and just presumed that they didn't want people to know that, given that 156 is within the reach of far more cars than 170 !

clutch hydraulics
The long bleed pipe & valve was not fitted on mine and as a result you have to remove the slave cylinder from the car and turn it upside down to bleed it. works fine and only takes 30 secs to remove the two bolts.
