Turbo Headers. Just 1 or 2 Questions.
Lost the plot in the middle of all that somewhere, but I bought de-cat pipes for my Jap car from Johnny at GPS - no problem and they fit perfectly ... !

Sparky plugs ...
Jeff, I suspect that it's more down to old age of the Iridiums, they have been there for quite a while. Also, the longer nose of the 'standard' plugs should help provide a more even flame path and resist fouling under adverse conditions.

Lightened flywheel
It's been written up a dozen times Mike, but given PaulC's experience with it I'd be tempted to say, "Go for it".

Preview of my DIY widearch job
Looks fantastic in the pictures, don't go a bundle on the 1980's white paint job, but it's gotta be better than that ultra common red !

does anybody else hate footie???
Footie is boring. Don't watch any sport unless it runs on fossil fuels - and even then I'm pretty selective.

Losing water
The first time mine did that it was the water pump, the second time it was one of the metal pipes that connects the inlet/outlet from the radiator to the heads. It was a bugger to find the leak because it was so little that it immediately evaporates on a hot engine. In the end I tipped a bottle of red food colouring in the water and just waited for the trail of 'dried blood' to show up !

Water pump / Crank pulley update no3!!!
And whilst you're there double check that the steel pipes to which the rubber hoses attach aren't rusting through. Both mine and Macca's had perforated just enough to wee out coolant when under pressure !

Dash trim problem
In the original Jap write-up they talk about using epoxy something-or-other. I used EvoStik, just make sure you wait until it's almost dry - sticks like blit to a shanket then !

Women!
Tim, trade her in for a younger model mate, they don't last forever ! ;)

Sparky plugs ...
I've not used my car much for a few weeks, only really to move it in and out of the garage. It's been running a bit lumpy and yesterday morning when I actually intended to use it to go to work it insisted on running on about 3 1/2 cylinders and coughing petrol out the exhaust. So once again I went to work in the Xantia ... Anyway, last night as a quick test I put on my series II PTU - no difference. So then I swapped the spark plugs from the HKS Iridium to a brand new set of NGK PFR6B-11C's. The originals that came in the car from Japan were PFR6B-11 and are noticably shorter - the same as the HKS ones in fact. Anyway, immediately started first time, ran beautifully and is now sooooo smooooth. Guess the lesson is that HKS Iridiums don't last forever, think these ones had been in for about 30,000 miles, look fine, run shite !

Dash trim problem
It's not that bad actually, expect to bash your head on the windscreen a few times though !

Calipers
LOL, just bought a PAIR of Brembos (226mm vented) for my Xantia - £26 + VAT !!!!!
-
Calipers
£250 for rear discs is silly, I'm sure you could get pukka Nissan ones for less than that. Brembo do ones that fit - I have them on mine.

Anyone near Stansted on here
Smithy, Stansted to Ware is roughly twice the distance compared with to my place. Just let me know if you need something.

Anyone near Stansted on here

Anyone near Stansted on here
If it was mine I'd do it myself. Alternatives are SE which is about 20 miles East of my place or a guy that Mike Feeney put me onto who works just outside Chemlsford. He changed my clutch (because I was too lazy) and he may well do cambelts as well. Check with Mike for details because I can't remember.
