  1. Well there is SE (NissTek) in Maldon or a Toyota specialist called Westfields ,who have a pretty good reputation, in Rawreth near Rayleigh.
  2. Try our traders first (of course!). Mike Feeney will probably have these and I hear that sometimes the OEM Nissan shocks are VERY reasonably priced. I've never replaced front shocks myself, but it doesn't look too difficult and as long as you can blag a decent (safe) pair of spring compressors then I'd reckon a couple of hours tops.
  3. Well that's encouraging because I've been using it for about 25,000 miles.
  4. A copy of the report too please. andyp@300zx.co.uk Any thoughts on Morris Multilife 10w50 'fully synth' ? http://www.morrislubricants.co.uk/productinfo.asp?v06c41q7p6=EF
  5. Yes, the strut braces should make quite a difference, due to the amount of body flex - try jacking up one corner of the car and then opening & closing doors & hatchback etc !!!
  6. Would really like to get new gearbox fitted, but will settle for having front bumper repainted.
  7. A definite vote for "Billing 2004" in the design somewhere. Then next year we have have a "Billing 2005" etc. Then it becomes not only a T shirt but a momento and it's limited edition !

I think I'd be correct in saying that Craig owns the domain name, the hardware the club bought belongs to the club and registered/subscribed club members are permitted to use the forum.
  9. Just had a gander at their web page and it suggests that a clutch switch is only required for the full throttle gear shift, not the launch control. Thinking back when I installed it on an MR2 turbo we didn't use a clutch switch and the launch control definitely works !
  10. I'm sure there's a diagram in the instruction manual (which I don't have with me). Pretty certain you don't need to buy their switch/cable to make it work though.
  11. You need to clarify which gauges - they're all electrical on a Z.
  12. If you're referring to vacumn gauges, then yes.
  13. I do the oil filter by just driving the front wheels up onto a brick, using a triangle of wood as a mini ramp. The cheapo chain wrenches work fine, if you cable tie the chain to the right length.
  14. Top work Mark ! PS I'll be doing ConZult readings for a tenner! LOL :D
  15. But it's not nearly as interesting as playing with cars and you don't want to see the pictures !
  16. Oddly enough this has been on my job list for a while. The pit doesn't need to be very deep, you can raise the car by 6 inches or so with a railway sleeper ramp, so then if the pit is a couple of feet then that should give plenty of room. My hassle is that my garage is built over an old pond, so I haven't been in too much of a rush to get the cutting discs out yet !

I use cheapo Tesco fuel all the time, unless it's very hot or a dyno run, but then my car was mapped for standard unleaded, so it's not a problem. But I also have a dual map at the flick of a switch, so that's not a problem either !
  18. Stu, Looks great. I honestly never thought when I first saw your car all those months ago that you would take it this far - fantastic.
  19. Really, I can understand why, although in my opinion THE most dangerous tool I have is my electric planer - still I suppose if it all goes horribly wrong the only thing you lose is fingers !
  20. An angle grinder - perfect for loosening tight nuts & bolts on the Xantia !
  21. Yup, Grant bought his brand new in about 1993 I think.
  22. Got mine in Sept '98, so that makes it getting on for 6 years I think.
  23. Similar view of mine :-
  24. Hmmm, it's unlikely to have become corrupt, without 'external assistance', if you know what I mean ! I can probably send you an alternative that would work, if you want to try that.;) PM me your email address.
  25. As a general rule of thumb later is better. Can probably find something once I get home this evening.
