Zeds been in the garage for 8 months now and it looks like she wont be coming out this summer (Blame AUDI S8 Quatro 4.2 V8). Is there any procedure to follow for long term storage?

Just got a warning light Not seen this one before Bottom left light on left display panel. Looks ligh a light beacon and comes on in red Any ideas what this one is ~All my lights are fine?

Yip TPS in incorrect position will do this. Mine did this after autobox rebuild and it was all down to TPS not getting correct Voltage Think its 0.4V

Sounds like A&M only replace the bits they can get away with, and dont do proper full rebuilds. Explains why he dosent want to work on old cars as he cant be bottered to do a proper job. If he does a half arsed job on a newish merc the other parts in the box should still be good which is why he probably dosent get people coming back to him after 10K miles with further problems

Jeff at Zedworld Birmingham did a conversion for me on my other Z in 2003 He did a very good job

Let me know how you get on with A&M My box went a second time due to him not fitting a new gearbox seal I lost all tranny oil and destroyed the box He fixed it a second time under warranty He then notified me he wouldnt work on the box again as he was giving up on "old cars" as he was doing too many new mercs which are apparently terribly unreliable.

A&M transmissions did mine for €1100 3 years ago in Dublin Same problem as you Gearbox is fried. Mines on the way out again though after doing about 15k Would reccomment new box or manual conversion Roy Cork

Whats the problem with the standard Auto Z box. Is it under spec'd for the power the car is developing . Are all high power autos as unreliable. I have had 2 Auto Z's A UK 91 Spec which was rebuilt once(2001). When it went second time I converted to Manual no problems since.(2002) still going And a low mileage SWB TT hardtop auto. First box blew at approx 50 K due to filter disintegrating and clogging (2003) Full rebuild Rebuilt box went at 60K due to oil leak from front gasket (2004) Rebuild under guarantee gasket should have been changed at rebuild 2007 aproaching 70K box is slipping in third, being beaten by celicas, probably on its last legs. While I like the auto Z I think its time to move on as I cant keep pumping money into rebuilds. 5 in 6 years is rediculous Any comments?

They dont give you an option in Irish MOT And of course he picked the side thats failing

Just failed emissions on My TT SWB The drivers side comes in well within tolerance but passenger side is all over the place Did ecu diagnostic and O2 sensor seems fine What else could it be?

Car failed Irish MOT on emissions at both high and low idle The left hand side exhaust emissions were through the roof. The Right hand side emissions was within tolerance I was unlucky which Bank of exhausts he put the probe up Whats the issue here, O2 sensor? Does the standard ECU diagnostic show up O2 sensor fault. Are there 2 O2 sensors on the Z , one for each exhaust manifold? Ta Roy
