****ing scummy Newport tennants!!!
You'll laugh at the latest coming out of the mouths of these chumps (though certainly not funny for the little'en I might add) apparently the young daughter now sufferes from bronchitis and it could be our fault??? Nothing to do with the fact that they'd let there dog crap all over the house......and apparently 'their friend' said that the house had been left clean and the tenants have no reason to disbelieve him??? and if we don't give the bond back, we are going to get sued....oh yeah and apparently because we had the carpets cleaned for 'them' before they moved in, we can also have the carpets cleaned for 'them' when they leave and that's a quote....WTF!!

the debate, keep or sell
(1) Return your 300 to stock (2) Sell the upgraded bits in order to re-coup some of what you've spent (3) Use that money to go towards a tidy low mileage (and pleasant to drive) 350z (4) Enjoy life without the stresses and strains of pumping more money into a 20+ year old money pit (5) Sit back and watch the next owner undertake the same journey that you've just completed (6) Take comfort in the fact that you are now a 'sensible' member of the z-club or not....it's your choice mate

if I rememebr correctly the main difference between 300zx and 200sx tie rods is in the length of the inner tie rod

****ing scummy Newport tennants!!!
I agree, it could have been a lot worse We're now looking at it as an opportunity to start afresh and give somebody else a chance. As long as the windows remain intact then we shouldn't have any problems. Good point raised on the gas meter being changed, I'll have to check that when I go back down there, and cheers for the offer of helping out mate but I think we should be ok, we're just gonna' spend next week down there gutting the place (I think it's safe to say that the carpets need replacing) :nuke:

****ing scummy Newport tennants!!!
Yeah, the only reason we stated no pets was for this reason (see video) We have a boxer of our own and he's fantastic indoors, but we still need to keep on top of his bloody slobbering  Yep they decided to paint the walls and skirting that shocking red; which incidentally we wouldn't mind as long as they were returned to the original colour for the next tenant. I don't think that returning painted walls to their original colour is unreasonable.. The dog was clearly neglected and the neighbours told us later that the poor thing was left to rot whilst they buggered off for months at a time no wonder it bit someone...it was bloody hungry! but that attack could have been so much worse!!!!

****ing scummy Newport tennants!!!
The insurance would cover it but to be honest I don't know what that would do to the premiums. It's back in our hands now so we'll just focus on getting it sorted and making sure that it's spot on for the next tenants....who will be checked, checked and double checked before getting a contract

****ing scummy Newport tennants!!!
My wife and I own a few houses, one of which is in Newport, South Wales. For the first few years we had a middle aged woman living in the house and she was fine, and caused us no trouble at all. We then had a single mother divorcee' move in with three young children, and again for five years she was the perfect tenant. Two years ago her and her fella' kissed and made up and she and the kids moved back into the family home, we wished them all the best for the future and thanked her for keeping the house in such good order and for being a wonderful tenant. My wife and I decided that we'd take the opportunity to spruce the house and garden up and proceeded to paint and decorate the entire house. We advertised the house, stating quite clearly that we wanted no pets and no housing benefits (we're not prejudice against people claiming housing benefits at all but there are rediculous legal loopholes that can be extremely costly to landlords who have the misfortune of encountering dodgy tenants) Anyway a young couple enquired about the house and asked if they could take a look. We met them at the house and immediately alarm bells started to ring (there was something suspect about their character and some of their questions were causing concern). They had a young 3 year old daughter and were expecting a little one in a few months. To be honest we felt sorry for them and having confirmed that they had no pets and were employed full time, we agreed to let the house to them. In fact we felt that sorry for them that we offered to decorate the little girls bedroom in whatever colour she wanted and purchased a brand new matching carpet. We then offered to do the same for their bedroom and even supplied a new bed and a mattress. The entire house was painted in a neutral magnolia, we replaced the front door with a brand new UPVC door, we fitted new smoke alarms, new carbon monoxide alarms and spent a considerable amount of money making the garden child friendly. I spent days painting the fences and erecting new ones across the garden walls. and despite the fact that the bathroom was newly fitted, my wife spent a whole day sprucing it up with a fresh coat of paint and general tidy up. Last year we started to receieve complaints from the neighbours and our previous tenant also got in touch quite distressed. She had discovered that several store cards had been taken out in her name, they had been maxed out on household goods and childrens toys etc. She also recieved confirmation that several attempts had been made to take credit cards out in her name....the only reason that they were unsuccesful was due to the individuals in question getting the date of birth wrong. The Police were informed and as you would suspect, they did **** all The next thing we know, there are further complaints about 'their dog' (by 'their dog' they were referring to the fully grown Rottweiller!!) Now bear in mind that this is in a house with a yound child and a new born baby.... we then had issues with the rent, until eventually we were informed that the 'housing benefits' would be paid direct to us!!! Loads more complaints followed, the next door neighbours moved house because of it and the Rottweiller was left in the house for weeks on end, whilst they all buggered off god knows where The dog was eventually put down as it escaped and attacked somebody! Then last Friday we recieve a phonecall from the tenant informing us that he/they (they'd seperated??) had moved out of the house and it was now unoccupied. He was reminded that he was contractually obliged to give two months notice....he argued the toss. We asked if he had informed the housing benefits...he said that he had....the housing benefits confirmed later that day that he had not! We were sent a mobile number for one of his 'builder' friends who we would have to contact in order to get the keys back... We contacted the guy and arranged to meet at the house at 15:10hrs in order to check the house over and get the keys back We arrived and met the guy, who incidentally was loading several cars and vans up with bags of....well what I would describe as crap! Straight away we could see that it was going to be bad. We had recieved reports from neighbours that the new UPVC door had been kicked in because he had lost the key (he and his many 'friends' like to kick things...doors/car doors etc...especially when arguing in the street about the 'dodgy gear' that had been supplied!!) Well here's a few video's and pics of what we found (bearing in mind, this was immaculate when the tenants moved in) the video's don't do the disgustingness justice....and yes that is 'SHIT' on the radiator where we found the size 16 underwear!! The oven (which was immaculate and had been supplied just to help them out) pretty much sets the standard of cleanliness: and then, to top it all off we get a phonecall from the tenant this evening asking (you can see what's coming...) asking "When he would be getting his £500 bond back?" This guy is on some serious crack!!! My wife explained in no uncertain terms that the bond would be going someway to covering the thousands of pounds worth of damage that had been caused... he started to give her abuse and threatening legal action.... I took the phone and expresses my opinion!!! I then went back to the house....he didn't show My wife and I now have to spend the best part of next week sorting out the damage that has been caused (and trust me, the video clips only scratch the surface) no doubt we'll sort it and then this disgruntled prick and his crack head mates will start a long drawn out process of putting the windows through every few weeks the Police have been warned off Scumbags!!

International seller/agent question....with a bit of ebay thrown in for good measure
It is a tricky one because I decided from the off that I wanted it all to be sorted through the legal channels (remember what I said previously about being a gullable tit!) I didn't factor that the law can be exploited to the benefit the wrong'ens of this world and in addition to the first guy that PM'd me, I've had a PM from a company in the US who have also been stung (for $28,000 in 2010), this is a big old scam, no doubt about it but I'm still pushing it, not for the money but simply out of principle

International seller/agent question....with a bit of ebay thrown in for good measure
definately planned...but it's a very tricky case to determine who we should persue Over £6,000 of solicitors and barristers fees later and the general consensus was sue every fooker' because they all play their part. I've got several files full of evidence, it's actually a really good read, because you can't help but think 'cheeky fookers'. but yeah it would be good if your sister took a look....and interestingly enough I've just been PM'd (on another forum) by a guy who bought Play Ltd's company demo car in 2010, he paid Steve for it and it turned up in shite order. Newly built engine turned out to have been built several years ago etc No joy for him either (although he at least does have a car to show for his £7000 outlay)

International seller/agent question....with a bit of ebay thrown in for good measure
Direct quote from Steve's (Play Ltd) email response to my question: "The authorised UK seller is definately Mr john Brams of Several sided imports. It only came to my attention the end of December that the car was even advertised on Pistonheads (without my permission). Have been in touch with PH to have car removed but probably due to New Year holiday it is still listed. I hope this helps you and if I can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact either myself or John at Several sided imports" Best regards Steve H Play Ltd Within a few months of the above statement ^^^^ Steve + Cow-head-batter travelled to the UK and stayed with John Brams in Gloucester... I believe that the car (when it arrived at the port and was collected) that it was put in the name of John Brams and quite possibly still is (or an associate) as I don't believe that it has been sold on....I believe that it has either been broken/exported outside the UK or is in storage waiting for 6 years to elapse! Payment of £12,500 was a bankers draft made out to the name of Miss Karol Kinly t/a Several sided imports also £500 cash and the remainder paid into a Natwest bank account

International seller/agent question....with a bit of ebay thrown in for good measure
Ok this may take a bit of time to explain as it's very complex but I'll try my best to keep it simple. (I won't name names/companies just to keep it ok for open discussion) there's a bit of waffle at the beginning (which a lot of you will have heard before) and there are a few legal agent/seller questions at the end.... A lot of people are aware of my RX7 issue that has been ongoing for several years (so my appologies for the repetition). To date this has not been resolved and it's very unlikely that I will be taking this to court as the individuals in question have exploited several legal loopholes. However I feel now that I may have to take a trip to Japan to try to rectify this in person. Character introduction: (1) A company owner (New Zealander who we'll call Steve) and owns a Japan based vehicle export company (we'll call this company Play Ltd) and owned an RX7 (newly built 600bhp widebody RX7 FD3S) (2) An American business partner of Steve who helps him build his RX7 but shortly afterwards does a runner back to US having mis-sold several cars to UK buyers and then fails to deliver (3) A Japanese driver called Cow-head-batter who also owns a garage in Japan called (Diving Sports). People used to like him but now they don't because he's been caught out by others. (4) A Brit called John Brams owner of (Several sided imports) he also owns an ebay user account with the slightly different name of (Several-sided-imports) (5) and there's me....a bit of a gullable tit! Sequence of events: (1) I spot Steve's RX7 for sale on Pistonheads being sold by Diving Sports. I enquire but recieve no reply. (2) I then spot Steve's RX7 for sale on ebay.co.uk being sold by John Brams of Several sided imports. I think this is suspicious so I contact Steve direct, who informs me that Diving Sports are con men and not authorised to sell his car and that the authorised individual is John Brams owner of Several-sided imports. (3) I contact John Brams of Several sided imports and arrange to go and meet at the company premises before handing over payment in person (at this point it's £12,500) (4) Steve contacts John Brams in order to offer me several thousand pounds worth of extras (carbon fibre door cards/pair of Bride leather seats and rails etc). John Brams contacts me and agree to pay an additional £2500+ (which he is then paid). (5) The car is supposed to arrive withing 6 weeks (which it does not). 7 months after paying for the car (and a lot of contradicting emails) I recieve the email stating that the car has arrived but import duty has increased and I owe an additional £1400. (6) I travel to Several sided imports premises and meet John Brams and his girlfriend with the intention of handing over the £1400. (7) I realise that the car is 3 years older, the bodywork is in very poor state, parts are missing and broken and the engine is different. The original red paint is coming through the hastily applied blue top coat. Needless to say the car is refused. I am told by John Brams that I will have to speak to his solicitor. (8) In a very short space of time my solicitor makes it clear to John Brams solicitor that their client is talking through his hoop (photographs taken before and after highlight the damage and discrepancies etc) and he is advised that he should issue a refund. John Brams agrees but requests that he is given 28 days in order to resell the 'offered' car in order to have the funds to do so. This is granted. *subsequently it is identified that on this very same day ^^^^ John Brams registers Several sided imports in the name of his girlfriend Karol Kinly whilst concurrently drawing back all of the equity in their property, remorgaging their property and drawing £106,000 of cash advances on credit cards etc **all of which is placed into John Brams account (9) John Brams advertises the RX7 up for sale posting several adverts on ebay (stating that the RX7 is a 1992 model that is running just 450bhp and required bodywork repair and respray due it being in poor state when it arrived from Japan) (10) After several months of being advertised for sale the RX7 is eventually listed as 'Sold'. I contact John Brams to ask when I would recieve my refund and am told abruptly that I would not get a penny as the car had only sold for £5000 and that had to be used to rectify the damage mentioned in the subsequent adverts, John Brams also stated that Several sided imports would not be around much longer and hung up the phone. (11) A few weeks later I recieve a letter from the insolvency agency stating that the 'owner' of Several sided imports Miss Karol Kinly, was filing for insolvency and therefore I would only recieve a refund of £1000 paid back over a 5 year period. (12) A few weeks after this I am informed by letter that Miss Karol Kinly has been declared bankrupt and Several sided imports have ceased trading. I am informed that I will recieve no refund. (13) That day John Brams moves all of the Several sided imports stock out of their previous premises and moved into their new premises just down the road under the new name of Several sided Japanese imports (the ebay user account remained the same however the name was changed slightly to that of Several-sided-Japanese-imports) and there in lay the problem...all of the assets and funds (and holiday Villa in Bulgaria!) were now in the name of John Brams whilst Karol Kinly took the hit as the bankrupt....this obviously is not an issue as they have plenty of assets set aside + Lots of £100,000+ dodgy deals and money transfers to 'someone' in the States and ripping off of Italian companies and purchasing of expensive custom built cars etc but that's another story Subsequent investigations highlight that the comapnay names over the last few years looked something like this: - Several sided motorsport - several sided motorsports - Pickles paint shop - Several sided imports - Several sided Japanese imports - LDB Clothing - Low Drain Bifters - Low Drain Speedshed and it go's on..... anyway, my questions are thus: (1) Irrespective of the fact that the owner of the company (Several sided imports) was Miss Karol Kinley, the ebay contract ('Buy it Now') was with the individual that owned the ebay user account (Several-sided-imports) which funny old thing is John Brams, with the contact email address as: john.brams@btinternet etc etc with a corresponding trail of emails throughout the seven months with: John Brams and mobile number of John Brams The contract therefore is with John Brams surely as the ebay account (even in name) are similar but not the same anyway (2) However, despite the company name changes and asset/money hiding, John Brams initially tried to lay the blame on Steve in Japan (with Steve being the 'agent'.....though I'm sure it's actually the other way round??). Is there any merit in persuing John Brams (I can't persue Karol Kinley as she's protected by the bullet proof vest that is bankruptcy protection) or should this argument now be taken up with Steve of play Ltd? After all it was his car and it has been suggested that he supplied the original information for both the Diving sports advert and that of Several sided imports (both of which were 99.9% identical, including same pics and spec list) though the Several sided imports advert corrected a few mistakes and added 'more' information such as the full initial date of registration. With all of the above taken into account....basically I suppose what I'm asking is "Who's **** should I be kicking in to get my money back?"

Should I have expected more from a specialist garage??
I'm just typing up a new thread to ask all of these questions rather than carry this on here but just briefly what if: (a) the 'seller' who is in Japan advertises his car for sale via a UK based import company (both get paid) and car is unsatisfactory (3 years older etc) when it arrives 7 months late (b) the UK based company advertising the car refers to the Japanese based company as their 'agent' and having taken full payment then passes blame to the 'agent' in Japan for the car not being as described *either way I don't get my car or money?
-
Should I have expected more from a specialist garage??
I'm just making the point that for the inconvenience and incurred expenses alone, a refund and another inspection is the least that I would expect by way of rectification. I personally have no experience of Zedworld other than collecting parts, but I can honestly say that this thread has in no way deterred me from considering using their services in the future. However had they not taken measures to put things right in this instance I wouldn't have touched them with a barge pole purely out of principle. as for contractual law, does that cover international seller/agent contracts aswell?

Should I have expected more from a specialist garage??
I'm sorry mate but I fail to see the reasoning behind those statements? but it's done now and people can hopefully move on, lessons learnt, confidence justifiably reinstated etc....group hugs all round

Breakdown of Chassis Codes
This is interesting because I was thinking about this just this morning, but for a Mazda (VIN: FD3S - 112702) any ideas?
