i am certainly no lover of blair and some of his anticts but being old enough to remember thatcher and the tory goverment that brought the country to it's knees, I DREAD them getting back in i assume most on here are now working, something under a tory goverment was unheard of interest rates rocketed and house reposessions went through the roof she doubled the vat rate, doubling the unemployed, it went from one million to approx 5 million we lost the coal industry, all mines being shut, and we now import it, 18 million people refused to pay the "poll tax" ask scotland and wales how she destroyed ALL their industries, for those who DON'T remember thatcher and the tories go and ask your parents, if they survived the poverty:( she destroyed the steel industry, destroyed britains ship building industry. How many of you now own your own house (or more than one)have a car, ?? lol again would have been unheard of, under thatcher, you may think your hard up, but what do you spend on cars/toys etc again you wouldn't have had that option, thousands have left Britain and still do every year BUT you don't do that unless you can afford to, the idea of a family holiday under the tories was a week in blackpool, just look back at some of your own posts on this forum and see when you have posted "i've spent this, or im going on this holiday, or buying this house/car" how many of you have 2-3 cars? a good night out under thatcher was a riot in brixton/handsworth etc under thatcher familes were receiving food parcels how many industries were privatised? don't forget these companies belonged to YOU the british people, so if you as a part owner sell something you expect some benefit, coal mines were closed and privatised, higher fuel and heating costs, public transport was privatised, how often would you travel on a bus/train now? i can come up with loads more examples of industries we no longer have:( the yuppie culture was built in the thatcher era, the boys in the city who live on our misery and now make millions by having OUR cash, ie overnight banking/transfers of your money etc etc how many of you are sat in front of your EXPENSIVE pc's, watching your plasma tvs with this and that console plugged into it, bored with having the same food for tea BUT having the option to have a change, how many of you can honestly say your skint and i mean skint, ie have to borrow £10 to feed the family, or to get your electric on? as thats what it was like for thousands and thousands of genuine families under her and the tories i don't mean the stay on benefits as long as i live brigade, lol how many of you remember milk at school, cos she took that as well you think blair was the first pm in the usa's pocket, maggie was so far up regans arse i reckon she was an extra in all his cowboy films, again im no lover of being taxed at every move but moan like **** and pay it, under the tories we COULDN'T have paid it, and you would have gone to jail for not paying the poll tax, how many of you are bringing your kids up thinking i'd like to give them everything you never had, and a standard of living you never had, WHY? yes blair is a twat, but one of the most frightening things is something thatcher said not so long ago "we don't want to beat blair, we need someone like HIM"!! lol we could end up with Anne widdlecombe (shit thats scarey) when labour won the election it was one of the biggest majorities in our history, and one of the biggest government majorities since the war. i also have the 400 gig maxtor and a 400 gig freecom both work spot on, as Apache says the maxtor doesnt have an on off switch and because they run so silent i often forget to unplug from the back, the freecom does have a on off switch and REALLY bright blue light, so cant fail to see when its on, i have a few comps, and have a lead in each so makes it REALLY easy to switch between machines, they are a good price now from when i bought mine m8;)
