  1. you also wont get the annoying gurgling from the wheel arch in the winter either when the u pipe fills with water.;) surprising how much the emissions control shit all weights!!
  2. aiv''s are the 1" pipes they inject air into the exhaust system to lower emissions. just remove them its fine. when you get the car back take out the aiv gubbins inside each wheel arch. cat light shouldn't come on. just cut the wires.
  3. are there any pics of this ? thinking of getting a removable one for mine so i can pull a car trailer ;)
  4. hey mick long time buddy. hope your well
  5. this is my exhaust http://www.topspeedauto.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=17&idproduct=272 why is the maufacturers price so inflated to the bay of e price>
  6. me and my bro want to mess around with a car for a track toy/learning curve with boosting cars..... right i know some will say "dont bother it will only blow up" etc but this is the whole point we want to try stuff on a spare car. right our idea is to possibly turbocharge a 1.4rt e7j clio. currently 80 bhp. i think i have calculated the thickness of headgasket required for the optimum 7.9:1 ratio as the old r5 gtt used. now my problem comes with the fuelling aspect of it. the 1.4 rt engine (e7j) is a single point fuel injection system. now i know the injector will not flow enough fuel to sustain boost so was toying with an idea for a secondary injector. now my problem lies on how to "switch on this injector" would i need a increasing voltage circuit which comes in at a pre determined voltage off of the lambda sensor (when detecting a lean mixture) ideally i want to use the injection system but possibly i could convert it to carb like the old r5gtt's were but whats the challenge in that eigh LOL anybody know about secondary injector circuits who could give me some pointers please cheers gaz
  7. bloody hell thats exactly my exhaust!!! gonna go round the garage and rip the fooker off now... then order my forged engine..... cheers guys i didn't realise i was sitting on a gold mine of an exhaust LMAO!!!
  8. they have soft drive trains tho dont they recommended if upping the power on gtirs to cryogenically treat the gearboxes.

  12. doesn't say its a tt. i personally wouldn't go by the bumper as many are replaced. perhaps i should ask the question :)
  13. Ace . Will be nice to hear it when the real engine goes in :)
  14. since putting my car back on the road (approx 2 months ago) i looked nder her last week when changing the exhaust and i noticed a lot of gearbox oil splattered along the exhaust. now what i did was to clean it up to try and see where its leaking from. i have run it this week and today decided to get her up in the air to investigate further, after removing exhaust, prop and lowering the gearbox down at the back again! it looks as if the oil is leaking from the breather WHY? don't think i have overfilled it and the oil seems to be level/ marginly below the filler point. now i know oil goes a long way so its probably only an egg cup full which has leaked but its enough to coat the exhaust , 1 side of the gearbox and a little of the floor pan. and todays investigation has leaked enough to get to the exhaust again!anybody else had this problem? am currently considering making up a temporary catch can/pot to monitor the leaking. any advice greatly appreciated:)
  15. contact alex who has just done it to his own z :)
  16. firstly the gearbox internals are the same. its just the bellhousings that are different. you can space out the starter by 2mm (i think?) and a little careful grinding of a section inside the housing will allow a tt flywheel to spin in there. use your current diff and prop as some tt owners convert to it anyway for quicker acceleration but reduced top end. (when you going to be doing 170 mph anyway ;) your current loom will work but it obviously doesnt have the wiring for the boost solinoids (if you use an aftermarket boost controller you dont need it anyway) if you could afford it buy a doner car with fubar bodywork then you have most of the parts to convert. there is a good guide on z1 motorsport some one may have the link for you.
  17. my brothers beautiful cat elisha. shes 14 years old but still looks like a young cat .. oh and a sneeky pic of my z ;)
  18. way to go mr smith senior!! fair play for him for giving it a go.

  20. congrats jason. hope the lady treats you well and is kind on the wallet. she'll be worth it for the smiles per mile tho. all the best gaz
  21. hahaha it was loud wasnt it. my parents always have a cup of coffee waiting for me because they could hear me 1/2 mile down the road leaving the carridgeway :) just couldn't resist getting these pipes. the tail pipes i had custom fabricated form a so called "motorsport garage" are shit. the tail boxes are still ok and the mid H-pipe IS MINT as its a z centre stainless steel one. so those will be up for sale soon.
