  1. Looks like a power trix upper link arm. Mine did this when the bearing section unscrewed from the t piece a bit. I took it off replaced the bearings and put tack welds on the t piece bearing sections to stop them unscrewing. It solved my creaking. Take the arm off check the bearings and see if them bits are tight... replacement bearings are easy to source
  2. I bought my hid kit from a company called hids 4 u. They have tge bigger ballist but are the same bulbs as the ebay kits I have had. They are better quality ballists much more robust than the ebay jobs .. I had 2 of the ebay ones fall apart. I did pay a good amount of money for them tho but I wanted to mount them under the headlight buckets so would be an arse if they kept failing. I have the 6000k kit. Very clear driving at night and I did clean out my headlights which is a very noticeable improvement with the hids.. to add I bought the 55w kit and ran the addition option loom with relay from the battery. I didn't want to draw too much current through the stock headlight wires. The stock bulb connector switches the relay and the ballists draw directly from the battery.

  7. Very good points made there steve! I don't think there is anywhere I can plum in the sensor pre thermostatic sandwich plate....... but in theory if the plate is working as it should then it's doing it's job and I'm getting an accurate reading of the oil returned from the pump through filter into block. So only logical point of another sensor location is directly into the sump itself as that is where the oil is pulled from.... I'm going to get an infra red thermometer and measure points around the sump etc... probably totally over thinking all this....
  8. Took her for a run last night and drive her to work today . Oil cooler getting very hot. I'm not convinced by my oil temp gauge. I could hardly touch the cooler! Driving home no boost (obviously ) and it peaked at 70 deg. I might try an alternative location for sensor
  9. Can you remember the problem nick?
  10. thanks lymon I'm using a thermostatic full flow sandwich from z1 motorsport... I have done 60 miles now so I should be changing the oil now as per your guide .
  11. I have a z1 full flow oil cooler kit with 16 row setrab cooler The water ways on the block have all been flowed and deflashed
  12. After finally starting my engine the other week and getting it mot'd on Thursday. I have been trying to use it yo get some miles on it. I'm now due my first oil change Noticed when driving my temps are pretty good.. water temp 75-77 deg c rising to 80 in traffic. And my oil temperature 60 deg c... the oil temp is what I want to check. Currently using mineral running in oil. Is that a good temperature? Obviously no boosting so temps will be lower. . Took it for a nice drive through the new forest today. Them temperatures were stable the whole journey. Drove great.. Had a couple of puffs of smoke out of the exhaust but I can expect that right? Engine only done approx 60 mile since full rebuild. So rings not bed in...
