  1. Carb or brake cleaner. Spray on wipe off easy!
  2. The problem lies in the targa drain lines which run through the sill and out the bottom. The hose goes from plastic to steel and it rots effectively filling your sill with water and rotting from the inside out. There is a rubber bung behind the wing to allow inspection but it means taking off at least the arch liner the rear is even more problematic where the inner trim has to be removed and ideally a camera to look inside. Not easy especially if sombody has already bodged it with filler. You won't know until you see rust bubbles by then it's already done a lot of damage
  3. Just realised that after seeing the engine bay
  4. Is that silver bullets old z?
  5. It all depends on the last 25 years of maintance schedules. The engines are very strong if looked after regularly. Best thing you can do is get the engine compression tested or ideally leak down tested before you start throwing time and money into it.
  6. Hi and welcome. I could always give you a few pointers if you like. I'm only in Winton. I'm far from an expert but can get around a z engine

  15. Na but we got a lidl and a aldi near buy. I can get a weeks worth of shopping in the boot. There is a pound land if you buy the datsun I will take you there and get there performance enhancing "real" turbo sound exhaust whistle
  16. I got an old datsun for sale comes in blue (if you squint a bit) well sorta black and yellow but pretend it's blue. Come wiv all the usual datsun extras like rust. Forgot to add even the exhaust smoke is blue so a big up for that. Had an air filter and universal tail pipes installed and mig tips do but guesstimate is approx 500 bhp and 560 lbs of torque stock auto turbos. Boost Controller. £9000
