***Update*** - a rusty hole found near a structural part of the chassis!!.... This does not look good. doesn't seem to go all the way yet but this can't be good. Seems to have started where the arch lining was bolted to the chassis.

Hello

so i have developed a loud creaking on the passenger side suspension. It is either the top mount on the shock, or the control arm...

I have lubed up the arm with white lithium grease, and also undone the front of the arm, added grease and done it back up to no avail.. Any thoughts? Is this typical of a failed bearing perhaps in the control arm? if so does anyone have a spares I can buy?

I can take it off tomorrow but worried it might be somethign else...

here is another vid... this noise is soooooo bad!!! on the plus side, the exhaust is nice.

Looks like a power trix upper link arm. Mine did this when the bearing section unscrewed from the t piece a bit. I took it off replaced the bearings and put tack welds on the t piece bearing sections to stop them unscrewing. It solved my creaking. Take the arm off check the bearings and see if them bits are tight... replacement bearings are easy to source

Ahh man so I have just taken it off and found a massive rusty hole near where the control arms bolts to the chassis.

Also I wasn't able to take apart the arm so will just try and get a new one. When I rotated the bearings you could feel a binding spot on one of them which felt as though it was moving over a small lump. I imagine this is why the problem was intermittent as some days it wouldn't happen so it just depends on whether the bearing was at that binding point. Really hoping that was teh case and that it isn't structural...... Need to find a welder in south london now if anyone knows of one?? That isn't a hobby I wish to learn :D

On the plus side I have stopped the noise for now with a hella lot of grease on the bolt and bearing

That corrosion hole if I am not mistaken is under the battery tray, would be inclined to take the battery out and have a good look around there.

Have done welding repairs in that exact same spot in the past will see if I can find the pictures on here somewhere, but in the meantime check out the battery tray link of mine below from several years ago
