  1. Damn that hit hard, can you recall what sort of speed you were going at?
  2. I know it sounds stupid but you did install it on the right way round? Otherwise it will be rubbing against the belt rather then holding it on. No key needed for that flange. Also if the lower metal cover was damaged (easily done while trying to remove front pulley ) it can rub, very noticeable once off as it will be polished up in that spot.
  3. I know it's not sorry didn't mean it to sound like it was.
  4. It is faulty , it was sold as working , if it arrives and doesn't work it's faulty. i have another socketed ecu, I don't or didn't want to be pissing around taking ecu's apart, hence why I bought this,
  5. It runs!!! After a few teething problems eg faulty ecu and initial ticky lifers it seems to run alright. Tomorrow will be the test at trax, but fingers crossed we can get a few sessions out of her. She is no fairlady as she has fought us all the way. It's probably the worst z I have ever had the misfortune of working on but it was bought cheap and its purpose is a track toy. So whoever is going I will hopefully see you at trax, I'm taking my red z too so look out for spongez the track slag and asahi the red rising sun :-)
  6. Checked it again this evening , the fan kicks in and now engine check light comes on!! Plug my mines ecu in and it runs fine. So ecu shagged!
  7. So the impul ecu I bought off of here is shite! Great oh well we will be swapping my ecu to the track slag when we get to trax then.
  8. It makes the car hesitant too so it is a problem
  9. Got engine running but after 2 mins roughly the aux fan kicks in and stays on regardless of temp switch bypass, is this a sign of a faulty ecu? Tried my own ecu on it and the car is fine! Probably answered my own question but I'm a bit miffed as I have to swap my ecu from my main z to my track one, I purchased the impul ecu so I didn't have to do this
  10. Welcome to the club, another south central z ;-)

Trying to get one z built up for the track and the other needs an oil change! Hopefully be there
  12. Um thank you for your very kind offer but no ;-)
  13. I haven't as I have run out of spare cash, mine are just sat there collecting dust atm
  14. Update, after stripping off the heads the passenger side was recieving no oil, had a good spare where I only had to rebuild 3 lifters, the problem was the orifice check valve in the block being gummed up and the ball in it sticking. After 20 minutes if cleaning and oil started to flow back out the hole, I have rebuilt the top end and we dropped the block back in over the weekend, today i managed to get Down there and bolt up the gearbox so I could turn it over with the cam covers off, we now have oil flowing to both heads so that's a great result, now to finish putting it back together and see if the problem is sorted, all this is trying to get it ready for trax in Sunday!!! wish me luck
  15. Iirc 6mm I think! Can anybody confirm?
  16. Do your cam covers leak? If do replace the seals on them too and the two little half moon rubber seals at the back of the exhaust cams
  17. Injectors injector seals upper plenum gasket 2x plenum egr blanks 1x egr exhaust blank 3mtrs water hose either rubber or silicon 2x pcv valves pcv pipes as the old ones will be brittle oem or silicon Can't think of anything else ATM
  18. If your gonna do the egr remember you need the blanking plug for the exhaust and the two blanks for the plenum
  19. Oh and delete all the fiddley water lines on the plenum while your at it, makes for an easier plenum pull and refit in the future
  20. Steve it's the upper plenum gasket he needs its about £10 the lower plenum ones arnt needed for injector change
