Crazy guys tried to attack me in the Zed today in uxbridge
I'm trying to see it from the Police point of view as crap as this sounds, if there's no CCTV, even if they found the car, there's nothing they could do as it's your word against there's :( It's an unfair world that scum seam to win and I really do feel for you Vic.

Starter motor
could simply be a loose bolt holding the starter motor or possibly a stripped thread which you could tap out to the next size up

Just lost one of my best friends
Thanks again everyone. It's a very odd feeling knowing a mate isn't around anymore and one less Zedder on the road. Jeremy, very sorry to hear what you've gone through, can't imagine the impact on life that must have made. I really do appreciate the kind words

Just lost one of my best friends
Thanks everyone. Just went and saw his daughter, one of those times that no words could be found, just a hug and tears. He was in a lot of pain, he was the one I asked about cannabis for a little while back. It's the only silver lining, that he's not suffering anymore. I'm 40 this year and it's the first friend I've lost, can't describe how I feel but it's nothing to what his family are feeling right now.

Just lost one of my best friends
Just found out one of my best friends and possibly the nicest person I've ever met has passed away. He was a Z mechanic and drove a Z for years and had become one of my best friends. The way I always described him was I was lucky to have a friend like him as he was the most genuine friend you could ever wish for and would drop what ever he was doing if you needed him without having to ask him. He was a proper old school stand up guy!!!! It just shows how you have to enjoy life, a couple of years ago he was fighting fit, then a few pains and then he's riddled with cancer. In one way I'm glad he's not suffering any more. Vijay

I actually quite like it for some reason. Reminds me of a Mustang too.

cold in the car
it's behind the dash mate. Did you feel the two pipes at the back of the engine?

dog training
Another command to get him used to from day one is the leave command. One thing I've done with both my dogs is to take their dinner away. I'd tell them to "leave", take their dinner away for a minute or two, then let them have it back and say "take it". The idea is to give them the mentality that leave means once they've given something up, it's ok cos they're going to get it back ;)

cold in the car
it's basically like a small radiator behind your dash that's plumbed into the engine cooling system. At the back of the engine are 2 water pipes that go through the bulkhead, are they hot to touch?

dog training
Also remember to use the word toilet when he goes. It's all about association with dogs. Once he knows the words and has got the link in his head, he'll hopefully go outside when you say "want toilet". Totally agree with Alan, got to be firm but fair. As stupid as it may sound, I hate dogs with no manners. I know it's not their fault, it's the owners who couldn't be bothered. I love my dog to bits but wouldn't think twice about telling her off and she knows it. It just means I have a dog I can control with the tone of my voice.

dog training
Sounds like you've done well. I would see if there's any local training clubs to you just to get the basics. I personally think the recall and sit is really important cos he's gonna be a big dog and you need to have total control ;)

Small pumps will be useless, need to really use some sort of garage compressor, even a 6 litre portable one will do ;)

Boiler problem
Nice to help people out, especially an older person who is still nice and friendly. She got broken into a few months back so I went and changed the panel of glass for her and painted up the frame. It makes a difference when someone helps and money's not the reason. Can't stand the thought of the elderly being ripped off so hopefully karma will help me out in my older days ;)

4 years since I last drove my Z :(
All rear lights, some wiring, pretty much the whole interior. Got rust spots around the rear window and boot panel and some marks here and there. I'm sad to say but within a year or so it'll have to be back in to sort it out :( Good thing is I've finally found people I trust ;) Never thought of getting another?

Was telling her about this place and how people help each other, I'm proud to be a member here - great place & great people :)

Boiler problem
Thanks guys. Jeff mate, you're an angel!! Got a universal one and she has heating & hot water. It's slightly too long and doesn't have the right fitting so will order the right one and fit it next week. All in all, £20 for the 2 thermocouples and she'll be sorted. This place is brillaint, you've made a nice old lady's Christmas :) Thank you.

Boiler problem
any idea if a universal one would work?

Boiler problem
Cheers guys. It's an older boiler so no condenser on it ;) From reading that link, that's the issue she has. I have no issue changing it for her as she's a lovely old lady and would be horrible for her to have no heating over Christmas

Boiler problem
Morning, An elderly neighbour has just knocked my door for help. Her boiler is a Potterton Kingfisher 2 boiler which has gone out. Can get the pilot light to light but it will not stay on, just goes out once you turn the control knob back to the normal running position. She has it services in September and the guy says he can't come and look at it till next week :( Any ideas? Cheers Vijay
