Renault-Nissan and Daimler Alliance
The primary reason for this is to save on purchasing. It will look at common items across the 3 companies to buy in bulk and save money. Expect to see some daimler items appearing in Nissan's and Renault's over the next year. Nissan and Renault have been doing this since about 2001 so they have the experiance of doing this. Will reduce any profitability of suppliers who currently supply Nissan / Renault and Daimler though.

I loved these when they came out but couldn't afford to buy and insure. It was something like £2,200 a month ! Nearly bought one a few years ago but it had been thraped to an inch of its life.

The paperless office
We had a fax room until 4 years ago and made all but one redundant. We now have RightFax that puts any fax from your DDI direct into email. Is great but in the 4 years I have had it, I can count the faxes on one hand !

How do I find My WPA number?
I would only use the cable when changing the router settings to keep a connection, once done, you shouldn't have any problems putting the new key into your laptop and xbox.

How do I find My WPA number?
The router will only work with one encrytion method at a time, so if you change to WPA, you will have to change the key on your laptop as well. You should be able to change the xbox to WEP but I don't have one so don't know the menu to go to. Otherwise you will have to connect to the router and select WPA, create a code and use this for the laptop and xbox. If you go down this route use a network cable to connect because the second yo uchange to WPA the laptop wont talk to the router any more.

The paperless office
Tooley - So you work for Clifford Chance ? I work for Herbert Smith. Law firms are the worst people to look at print reduction as they are very old school (we have partners who have never turned their PC on and have their PA's print their emial, ther write their replies and the PA types and sends it !). Without buy in from the top you will not get anywhere. It needs to be seen that they are actively following what is being recommended not just saying everyone else should do it (that's what happens in most law firms). Certainly small steps would be a good idea as trying to get everyone to stop printing everything all at once will not go down well.

White - A43 Heading to Kettering
You were northbound, from Northampton to Kettering and waved. Looked tidy but was only a quick look as I saw you pretty late.

The paperless office
Go to Lexmark's web site. They have some case studies on paperless offices and processes. I think Orange have paperless offices. They scann everything that comes in the post (including newspapers and magazines) and they are sent via emails and links into a Document Management System. Good luck on getting to a paperless office, we are finishing a project to review our printing and have ended up replacing all 1100+ printers (we only have 1500 staff !) and are projected to be producing a lot more than the current 18 million papges of print a year. We are a law firm though.

Hopefully nothing major
Well one brake done.... I found 2 faults. First as Jeff said the back plate was rubbing against the disk and second, one of the pots had siezed. Now loose and is a lot better. Car turned round (have to work on the road as I don't have anywhere else at the moment) and will do the other when I have taken the nipper to school.

Hopefully nothing major
Thanks Baz and Jeff - I will put it on stands tomorrow and have a look.

Hopefully nothing major
My car has had a squeeky brake for a while now, so hopefully tomorrow I will be putting some copper grease on to sort that out. The car has also developed another squeeking noise... It mainly occures when warmed up and when going slowly round a corner (mainly when I turn left). The sounds is not a gringing noise but like a 2 parts moving against each other without any oil or grease on them. It can also be felt throught the streering wheel. Any ideas ?

Windows Vista Help!!!
I know the BIOS of some machines have a with some drives over 320GB. What version of Vista are you trying to install ? I may be able to provide you a copy of the disk, you would just need to use your license key. Otherwise I would do as everyone else has said and go Win 7

32 bit Win XP
32 bit Operating Systems only address about 3.2GB and wont use any more but may see it (depends on BIOS I think) 64bit Windows 7 is pretty good from the few times I have used it.

Performing Rights Society....
We ran into an issue last year. I work for a large Law firm so have to check everything is legal. We were installin the ability to stream video to our PCs and were told that we wouldn't need to declare for that BUT as our PCs had sound cards and access to the internet, if we allowed sound to be played, people may play music from the internet and we would have to pay a license of £20,000 :cursing: We told them very quickly that we would disable the use of WAV, AAC MP3 files throught the firewalls. We still have to pay £260 for the on hold music though as it is some clasical music our senior parner insisted we have instead of the free music. :2guns:
