  1. I saw those but don't have access to a proper press, so went for the 3 part ones.
  2. I got these from Zcentre http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_28_58&products_id=164 Very easy to fit them as they are in 3 bits. A bit of a pig to remove the old ones but a cold chisel and hammer worked wonders.
  3. Thanks for the replies, I used brute force in the end... Still, I managed to replace both Bushs. :hyper: Will take it out tomorrow to see if its any better.
  4. Today I am supposed to be changing my tension rod bush's... Drivers side one is out and I have replaced the bush but for the life of me I cannot get the bolt back through the cross memeber and bush. The bolt is tapered so it only goes in one way (took me half an hour to realise :slap: ) but there is a pipe going from what looks like an air cooler to the air intake in the way. Whatever I try I cannot get it to move enough. Is there an easy way to get this bolt in or have I now got to dismantle half of the car to get it in ? Mark
  5. Is this it ? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=117006&referrerid=14324 If the link doesn't work it is in the FAQ Storage under Electrics. Looks like Groover has merged 3 documents into one thread.
  6. Happy Birthday Murt :duffer: :duffer:
  7. Thanks guys... I was looking forward to a run to London and back in the Z, even if I have to get up early.
  8. Use mine every day and apart from a flat tyre one day, it has proved reliable. It is running perfectly since Jeff @ Zedworld gave it a once over at the weekend.
  9. I am off to pick up my new front bumper from Jimmytt tomorrow and was going to go in the Z. Will a std Jap front bumper fit inside a 2+2 ? If not I will have to pursaude the wife to lend me her car (she refused to drive the z) Mark
  10. After the help and advise you gave me last weekend, I will definitely be getting in touch for parts and work.
  11. Well done Murt. What is the contract for, if you don't mind me asking ?
  12. Add me to the list for £20.. Mark
  13. It is because the PC recognises the hard drive as a possible bootable drive but the drive is not boot enabled. We have the same problem at work with people plugging in iPods into their PCs before they power them on (we do not allow the drivers on the PCs). To date our techies have not found a way of stopping this and just advise not to have them connected until you get the windows screen.
  14. We have hired our village hall so that all our mates and thier kids can meet in one place, have a lot to drink, have a laugh and not worry about someones house being wrecked by 20-30 kids. We have to be out by 1 but don't have to worry about taxi's or nominated drivers..
  15. Merry Christmas all
  16. I had to write it down as I couldnt' believe so much could go wrong in 2 hours ! Everyone I have mentioned it to at work have wet themselves laughing. Just as an update, my father in law gave me a lift to the station this morning and took the wheel to get a new tyre and has put it on the car. He then put jump leads on and it starts OK so no damage to the electrics from puting the leads on the wrong way. the benefits of working for the Council :nelson: Only problem is the battery doesn't appear to be holding charge. He is going to meet me this evening to jump start it again and if it won't restart after going home it is off to Halfords for a new battery !
  17. What a day I have had with my Z ! It started at 7am on my way to the station, the stearing and braking felt really ropey. pulled into a petrol station to find the fron drivers tyre bearly flat. Went to pump the tyre and the air hose promptly released what little air was left and wouldnt put any more in. Complained to the girl behind the counter who said it wasn't her problem... As I had to be at work on time stupidly drove the mile to the station with the intention of changing the wheel when I got back. As I thought it would be a fair chance the spare would be flat, I asked the wife to drop off the foot pump in the car for me during the day. Came back home early for the little one's school play to try and pump the trye first, no joy. So it was in a taxi to get back in time for the play (£11 for a 5 mile trip !). After the play it was off to Halfords for some tyre weld (buy one get one free) and an electric pump, just in case I could get the trye inflated without changing it. One can of trye weld later and the trye would still not pump up. During this time, the car door had closed and the alarm locked the doors. Guess where the keys were. Yes, the ignition. Another call to the wife to bring the spare keys. In the meentime the new electric pump decided to pack up ! Wife arrives and I get the doors open and the spare out. Jacked the car adn changed the wheel to fine the tyre was torn nearly all the way round on the inside rim. That will teach me to drive it flat. Get the get me home on the car and that one won't pump up ! another call to the wife to bring the other can of tyre weld over ( I had left the second can in her car). While I was waiting, I thought I would run the engine as the internal lights had been on for quite a while when the doors had locked and the battery was flat ! Went to the station and one of the staff lent me their jump lead generator thingy. This proved not to have enough charge so decided the Z had one and when the wife arrived with the kids in tow, I called it a day. On the way home the little one started to complain of being hot and having a tummy ache then sure enough threw up all over the back of the car. Get her into the house, turn the light on and It blows the fuse  So tomorrow, I have my father in law driving me to the station. He will pick up the wheel and get the trye replaced and then meet me at 7:30 tomorrow night to change the wheel and jump start the car. The only good thing is I feel like a true memeber of the club now :rofl
  18. The Storm arrived today.. It looks ok until you take the protective cover off and the screen rattles in the frame ! Used it for all of 5 minutes before it was obvious I was never going to like it. When you want to press a button you have to make the screen "click" which feels like it is about to break. :hurl: Even though it was supposed to be the one for retail, it still wanted to connect to a Exchange Server. :nono: Its going back tomorrow with a warning to our staff not to waste their money. Go with the iPhone or Nokia.
  19. I know one company that bought some Storms for thier sales force and a week later sent them back and had Bolds. They were too slow. I have had a bold for a few months now and it is pretty good but I use it as a business device, not sure how well it would work as a personal device. I am due to receive some Storms today so I will let you know if it is any good.
  20. The first time I have spotted a Zed on the road since I bought mine in June ! :hyper: On the A14 Eastbound coming up to the services near Kettering. Couldn't see too much of it other than it was red and had an aftermarket front panel and spoiler.
  21. Mine was a Vauxhall Viva 1.0l, bought for £250 in 1985. A tank of a car for such a small engine. It was full of holes and only lasted a year before I managed to crack the head !
  22. As a relative newbie to this site, I would like to thank all who have posted advice on this site. Since meeting some of you at JAE, I have found my problem with the smell of petrol or not holding revs when cold was down to a plastic bag wrapped around the air intake (thanks Groover for pointing me in the right direction) This weekend, with a lot of help from various threads, I have replaced my aerial so it now goes up and down (not a big problem but its stops the clown down our street from flicking it at his mates every time he walks past), adjusted the IAA (and found its plug was loose) and fitted a HID conversion. My god does the HID conversion make a difference! Next jobs are LED conversion of the dash, rear spoiler and front bumper. Thanks again to all, hopefully I can help others in some way. Probably not Z related but if its computer kit, especially Dells you need, PM me as I may be able to help. Mark
