  1. Jeff Thanks for the tips, tried to PM you but it says your mailbox is full. It failed on me this morning and I tried it tonight got the same. I will have to take the wifes car to it as I have tried to get it going so much the battery is running flat. I usually got a whirring noise from the back of the car when I turned the ignition before it turned over. I always assumed it was the fuel pump priming the lines. I do not get that any more, hence thinking it was fuel pump. I will look at the connectors and see, otherwise I might call the AA and get them to earn the subscription..
  2. Checked the fuse and thats OK so its either the pump or the ECU. Any clues as to how I tell which it is ? Anyone got a pump and ECU for sale ?
  3. It had 3/4 of a tank in it on Saturday but I didn't look at the gauge so will add that to the list of things to check Is there a relay I need to look at as well as the fuse?
  4. On my way to the station the car stalled at a junction (does this when it is very cold) but would not start again. I think it has something to do with the fuel pump as I cannot hear it activating when I turn the ignition. I am hoping it is a fuse or relay but if it is the pump whereabouts is it and is it easy to replace?
  5. Can recommend two garages in Kettering, which is 16 miles north of Northampton. It isn;t that far from Zedworld either. Kettering Motorist Centre - family run tyre / MOT station (I take mine their for its MOT) but do the usaul machanical work. The owner used to have a 350Z and the mechanics all fight to work on my Zed. I find them very honest to deal with and will tell you if it is too technical for them. Hi Tech Automotive Services - Do a lot of work on performance cars. Have worked on the air con and water pipes on mine. Good but expensive.
  6. Happy New Year everyone
  7. This is a video that our friends 11 year old daughter did of the squirt...Explians it a lot better than words. Look out for when the barrel actually comes off the wire ! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=2429021724513
  8. Last year was so cold we had to break the ice on the river, chip it from the ford and then found our engine and pump were frozen so had to borrow a portable pump from Kettering Fire brigade. Pictures of last years squirt are here http://gvfb.org/2011/01/2010-boxing-day-squirt/
  9. Today was the Geddington Volunteer Fire Brigade's annual squirt against the Local fire brigades. It is a good laugh, raises money for the Fire Benevolent Fund (this year about £300). The GVFB (http://www.gvfb.org) is a charity that helps out residents of the village and raises money for good causes. The idea of the squirt is to knock a suspended beer barrel over the opponents side of the river, best of five. This year we won 4-1, even after cooking the engine of our 1950 fire engine! It’s great fun for all, if not a little wet and there is always the pub afterwards (hence our logo).
  10. There is a petrol station a couple of mile or so away on the A6 north of the circuit so you can always fill up before you go in.
  11. This is the Palmer Racing Centre isn't it ? Been there a couple of times if it is. The instructors are brilliant. If I can make it, I will come down to support.
  12. Black TT, H reg, I will keep a look out for you.

  15. I have one of the magnetic cases. Its pretty good, except when I put it in my laptop bag and it keeps coming off. Looking to get an apple TV so I can play movies from the ipad onto my TV but it is £100 odd for one.
  16. Happy Birthday Jeff
  17. Thanks all, had a great day. Now need to get ready for the wife's 40th on Friday !
  18. My two are Emily Mae and Megan Eve if that helps.... I didn't like Megan when we were thinking of a name for the eldest but then 4 years later it seemed perfect. Goes to show how the trend in names goes. If any were a boy it would have been Edward after my dad, grand dad and great grand dad.
  19. Congratulations Jeff and Lynda
  20. That looks great Chris ! Look forward to seeing it in the car with the other mods completed.
  21. Congratulations to all three of you and your other halves.
  22. Nice looking white zed northbound on M1 in the contra flow around Luton south. From the quick look i had (going other way on a coach to London) it looked really nice and tidy.
  23. I have the honour of laying a wreath at our village war memorial on behalf of the village on Sunday. My eldest daughter is laying a wreath on behalf of the Scouts.
  24. Zed is my daily drive, Mazda 5 for when the whole family goes out
