  3. Have you seen how small and thin the Plenum is.
  4. I bet your tyres would have shown the problem though. It just seems to me that because worn HICAS rod ends and bushes etc causes a lot of handling problems everyone jumps stait for it. I know from experience not with the HICAS, but other things on my car that you can endup spending money doing things that arn't whats causing the problems. Loads of us have gone round in circles before the culptit is resolved. Which is why I try to advise checking the basics first. I did say that if the rear end was bouning the the dampers are either knacked or set on too low a setting for the spring tension. If though your rear HICAS Rod end or as was in my case Rear Rack and Rod ends are shot you get the same feeling as you do if you have a flat or low pressure rear. This will Like Chris C said push the rear all over the place if you boot it or drive out of a corner, because the rear wheel jump to toe in from toe out under trottle. (hence what I said about step out) I know from experience though that the tyre size combination will be causing Tramling and once he sorts that and his rear shocks then maybe the handling will be fine. Easyest thing to do is check for the rear tyre ware. If the either or both outer edges of the tyre are waring like under inflation, but with a sharp edge then there is Play ans something is either bent or worn. If they look OK then try shocks or oversized tyre footprint. PS I should have writen this last paragraph in the begining.
  5. What is the shipping costs though thats going to be the killer

  10. I think ,but if I'm wrong someone will correct me that the Auto is about 0.2 of a second faster at 5.7 seconds. (Disclaimer for the forum Police) My memory could have invented that though. (My opinion though) I think Manual is much more fun to drive hard on the twisty's.
  11. Andy your not reading what I've writen and yes you have helped me at times and I am gratefull for that, and said so to others, as I have genuinely offered help to you before and would do again, but you seem to be miss reading and quoting things. I saw your post asking if everyone had been on druggs Sure it wasn't you
  12. The big Letters is the question. The rest is exploring what he thinks it could be. Could be. That would be why he's accelorating hard and turning when he's approaching junctions obviously.
  13. MEEEEEEOOOOOW. Who elses spec has it been built to then? :headvswal :headvswal Andy when you were 3yrs old I was racing a Pagett TZ 400 Yamaha and doing all my own mechanicing. I built tweeked and raced more bikes than you could shake a stick at. I rebuilt my first Range Rover from Chasis up. I completely rebuilt my old P6 Rover and uprated the cams and carbs etc. I've had loads of Turbo'd cars, infact I've got 4 at this very moment in time. When I got my Zed I joined the Zclub then later came here looking for knowledge of experience with these cars. People here have told me all sorts of good and crap advice. Yourself included. After waisting lots of money I decide to trust my own instinks and experience of the more reliable people (saddly most seem to have departed) + what I know and as a result I had my last engine built at C & S Woods (best engineer I've had the pleasure to know) to my spec as I decided I wanted it, I've experimented with things new to him and vice versa. As Phil would tell you and it works well. I have had J D do the mapping because what he says makes sense and I trusy him. The people that Have done good work for me and helped I recomend (see my posts). I also try to give advice from my experience. Which is quite condiderable 7 rears ownership and extends beyond 300zx's. So as to save others here waisting money for poor value results or desasters I though that was the point. to pool information and help.
  14. Use a matt black then clear laquer Looks like the whole roof is glass then.
  15. The manual has a more aggresive inlet cam profile to suit the turbo gearing, which is why it has less torque at lower revs, but a little extra back end of mid range.
  16. Hey blast from the past. How goes it. Have you still got the Zed or did you sell in the end? I'm still saddly loitering here, but just about everyone else has gone.
  17. Just the tittle smells of mature Gorganzola on a hot sunny day
  18. Shouldn't that be if  . Get it serviced regular and replace the dodgey bit and she should be nice and reliable so long as you don't dabble too much. :smash: Anyway have it towed in backwards. :slap:  Mine did 129,000 miles with induction, 15 psi boost and fuel mapping and never missed abeat. then the first rebuild and I had 2 1/2 years of cost and pain. I then decided to forget every thing I've read on here and had my second rebuild how my own experience of perfomance cars and bikes told me. 1 year on and 8000 miles trouble free and I expect 100,000.

I doubt it will happen unfortunately as someone try's every year, (I hope it does and i'm game) but the Nurbgurg run will take place and is the best week ever and once you've done the ring you just have to go again and again. Wozzer is trying to organise it right now, but because My buddy Dave is getting Married unless Warren can change the dates I'll be going earlier with Mr dp and a couple of chaps from here and the Zclub who are going in April/May.
  20. Thats their problem not the rest of the worlds. We all have bad things to deal with at sometime in your life, some more than others. The people that blame everyone else are just emotionally dumping because they carn't deal with it. In other words they are wrong not the prople trying to enjoy their lives. All this crap gets coverage because bad news and controversy sells and since Mrs Thatcher replaced moral responcibiliy with "Market forces" the minoraty voice of controversy has total media control, because normal people and opinions don't make headlines. Hence counrty is a mess and extreme factions of all political creeds and religious zelots are getting power, because people are desperate to brake free of minority apression. Phew thats better

Always up for a track day. Depending on when.
  22. The front tyres are the cause they are two wide. I been there and got the Tshirt. Honestly if you drop your fron tyre size to to 225's or 235's you'll be amazed at the transformation. If rear shocks have to soft a damping setting it will cause bounce and give you an unsettled feel so either ajust or replace. You tram linning is tyre size though I'm had my Z 7 years in April and done over a 100,000 Miles and tried more set ups and tyres than proberbly most people on this board. I've race karts and motorbikes and been around friends that have race cars for years. One of my best friends is Dave Perry (dpmotorsport owner and one time Porscher challenge champion) Tyres and Tyre choice is the most important handling device on any car. It is what keeps you on the road. I've tried most performance road tyres on my Zed as 4500 to 5500 miles seems to be the tyre life limit. Some tyres like the Dunlop 3000 sports where that scarey that I replaced them after 3 days. What Bridgestones you got on. I have found that the S03's or the Potenza will still cause this even at 235 because of the compound. S02's (classed as Porsche only fitment) where the original tyre that the Z was designed on and 225 or 235 S02's make overall sability like you carn't believe. S02's are best all round tyre forthe Z giving verygood dry handling and the best road tyre wet handling poss. Mitcheline Pilots are dam good and Yokahomas are the best dry tyre, but scarey wet. The rest are some way behind. Remember fatest doesn't mean better.
  23. None at all it fits perfectly and the tow eye is still usable. Carn't believe thats five years back
  24. Look at the length of your nose
