That is a fine looking motor. Top colour and a cracking interior. Hope you have many happy years behind the wheel.

34 Mile Hillman Avenger anyone?
They were prone to spontainious combustion though. Every body had one of these in the 70's and most of em went up in flames. You just got smoke coming through the air vents and that was it, Flames.

Electro Acoustic Guitars?
In Leigh price range there are some really nice Yamaha's

Any one fit one of these babys ?
These are a dirrect copy of the HKS and the core dimensions ie bar width etc are exactly the same. The Quality is very good. Its like Simota air filters. The are perfect copies of Apexi filters. Not that strange really because the Simota factory in China is where Apexi made its filters. So too are a lot of K & N's still made at the Simota factory. Bit like MG Rover :slap:

Electro Acoustic Guitars?
Do you mean a semi acoustic like a martin acoustic with a pickup bar and controls on the acoustics chamber? Or a Les Paul Semi acoustic type thing.

I know Steve and Phil even tried to get me to help lift his gearbox off.(Nice Flywheel by the way scoops). Took me too long to get into a pair of overalls though. Anyway it's me next on the ramp for some C & S TLC.

highest mileage?
I32698 miles on a UK car that I've owned for 8 years. It had 30 something thousand when I bought her from a friend. Who bought it from the owner of the warrington Nissan dealership. So its genuine mileage, but it has had 2 sets of standard turbos, 2 engine rebuilds, and 1set of T28 hybrids and 1set of T2837RS turbos. A manual gearbox, new prop, 3 clutches (Chris C has had 2 of my cast off's) 3 rads, and all the sh1t in my rides + a load more stuff I've fitted or still to fit.

Another Thorough bread from the C & S Wood Stables
Hey Barry Why not. You have had the worry and hassle. I know what it's like. Just like being an expectant farther you carn't relax until its done. It's OK for phil, he enjoys doing these beasts :slap:    . No seriously it looks the muts. It's very similar to Ian's (MAC1) without the pram handle and all that new paint work.

Another Thorough bread from the C & S Wood Stables
Well i was up for a MOT and got talked into taking some pic's of my car along side Bazza's. It's peed me off a bit because Barry has had his engine bay newly painted and all his wiring is so neat I'm going to have to do all mine now. Baz the car is gorgeous mate. I hope you don't mind, but I think Phil wants some picks for his customers wall. I took loads more so that I can look at them so as to get under the bonnet and sort all my wiring bits, a bit more bling and retouch my inner wings. If you want me to email you the pics Baz just give me a shout.

dilemma
I'd just use a peice of perspex and cut it to form the bottom edge of the bumper lip. I'd then get some of the cotton glass fabric. You can get some already impregnated with ressin that you use an activator with. Fasten the ends on to the bumper where you want it to blend in and then stretch the other end over the perspex lip former. This will give you your basic shape. Activate it, then when it has set use bumper filler to get the shape bang on, smooth and blended to the 99 spec.

Riveted arches
Leigh take a look at the original Porsche 911 GT2 and even the original GT3 (You'll see where the Strosek arches were first used) they were all bolted on with Alan bolts. Dave at dp had a pair of the rear GT2 arches I could have had at one time and toyed with this very Idea. Then I decided NOOOOO. However thats just my humble opinion. Remember it all or nothing. You've started so don't wimp out of it now.

dilemma
It would be a peice of cake to make that lip out of fibreglass and then use flexable bumper filler to blend it in. I bet Pete from PPS would sort it for you even though he hasn't got the paint shop anymore. I could do it in a day if I wanted to go that way.

Width of Strosek-a-like wide arches?
Yep but the Explosion arches are so subtle that they don't look as wide as the Strosek type, but your going for the real serious in your face OTT Jap GT style. IMO if your going to do it Leigh be brave and do it right. Don't be half hearted.

Any photographers in the club?
OH MY GOD Leigh do those people never leave you alone. Hope all goes well and no problems. P.S sorry guy don't know anyone in Midlands apart from Leigh.

Started up first time :)
Thats Brilliant news Barry i'm really pleased for you + I'm also glad your car will be of the ramp so i can get mine on for a little more of Phils magic to be worked.

Width of Strosek-a-like wide arches?
The genuine Strosek is 60mm flare each side which is 2.5 inches from the outer edge of the wheel arch. The Explosion is 70mm which is 2.75 inches, but it all comes down to the way body shops fit them and Most tend to pull them out as wide as possible. This results in the wheel arch being too high and the wrong shape. + IMO makes the rear arches look pants. Very few genuine Stroseks or early paul baileys look good. Haven't seen any real good ones for ages.

which way to go?
First thing to do is get down to see your Bank Manager and offer them your sexual services in reply for fiscal understanding and large intrest free overdrafts. I'd pray that it turns out to be a slightly frumpy middle aged woman and not a bloke. Otherwise you'll need shares in KY jelly.

Auto box rebuilders
Hi Marcus Chester Automatic Transmition Sevices are very good. They have just rebuilt the box in my C70 T5R. It cost £1100 for the complete recon kit + labour. These are a real bast*rd to remove as the front subfame and drive shafts have to be removed. So the whole job including supplying and fitting new front wheel bearings £ 2200. 01244 537070 ask for Mark and if you want the upgrade that Ryan at Ztech used to supply I'm sure if you talk to him he will get the parts for you. Where abouts are you in Shropshire, Because if your car needs towing I know where you can Hire a trailer for £34 per day and I'll drag it up there for you with my pickup buck shee.

dilemma
I'd go for suspension if yours is naf. I'd also go for a 99 spec front bumper from Luke and have the lower lip added at the pain shop. The OEM 99 spec bumper is polyurathane and fits perfect.

Loose/Wobbly Gearstick?
The problem with flee bay is that some of the stuff on there are copies of copies and the quality is crap. The one in the link looks just like the one Will Bought minus the knob, it don't mean its the one there selling Though this sellers stuff is usually OK. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-NON-TURBO-SHORT-SHIFTER-QUICK-SHIFT_W0QQitemZ220106804913QQihZ012QQcategoryZ72205QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Loose/Wobbly Gearstick?
I got a genuine Nismo shifter some guy had bought and never fitted, but a mate of mine bought a chrome shifter with a chrome knob and it was almost identical to the Nismo I'd bought. The knob has to come off because the shifter has to split to pass through the knuckle bearing. Then the upper outer shaft slides back over the inner shaft to hold the whole thing together. You'll see what I mean.
